wow. Hornets starting Graham, Rozier and LaMelo tonight. 3 guards, plus Gordon. Rebounding will be key, but LaMelo is excellent as a rebounding guard.
-
when he did that I was like another tough one tonight....guess who's got the best record in the West? Lakers? Nope. Clippers? nope. That would be Utah. Just glad they don't have Embid.

throw a couple shrimp on the barbie, mate!

another one from ECU: OT D'Ante Smith Played in the Senior Bowl, but I don't know if he was on our team.

It may be more likely than most think. There are a TON of excellent WR free agents this year, and the salary cap is going to be an issue for almost every free agent. He may find his market more like 8 or 9 million a year, and we could probably afford that depending on our quarterback situation.

if you really want to know what disappears the fastest, it's pigs in the blanket. Something no one talks about but everyone loves. ABTs (jalapenos stuffed with chopped pork bbq and cream cheese, wrapped in bacon and grilled or smoked move almost as fast, and everyone talks about those. And those little ham and swiss sliders with dijon on Hawaiian sweet rolls with poppy seeds go fast too.

February 26, 2020 - 3:31 PM CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Hornets guard Malik Monk has been suspended indefinitely because he violated the NBA’s anti-drug program, the NBA announced Wednesday. “The Charlotte Hornets are disappointed in Malik’s decision-making that resulted in his suspension,” the team said in a news release. “As an organization, we do not condone his behavior. However, we are committed to supporting Malik during this time.” https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/hornets-monk-suspended-indefinitely-by-nba-violating-nba-anti-drug-program/KUAMAMJ6YJAB5GGVDRZH3KQ3HA/ His sudden appearance on the floor the last two games made me wonder if we were showcasing him for a trade. If so, we sure got a good showcase. We are guard rich and front court poor. If Malik can continue to score like this, I'd rather keep him over Devonte.

Upcoming NFL News, Awards and Retirements
Captain Morgan replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sam Mills! Great news. He'll go in as a Panther. Saints board has complained about it for years, but they know. -
I was watching the senior bowl practices and some of the players not in the drill were too close to the action and the mics picked up Rhule turning around to the coaches and says "can we keep these guys back? It's not that hard. Damn." No big deal, but I thought it was interesting. He's certainly in charge.

no answer for Embid. Gonna take some guys getting really hot from 3 to win this one...

tonight could be a big night for the franchise. Remember last week when we were talking about how tough a stretch this part of our schedule would be? We're riding a 3 game winning streak, Monk has provided an unexpected spark, and LaMelo just won rookie of the month. If this team could somehow beat Philly, and it's potent front court, it would be an announcement to the rest of the league...The Hornets are gelling, there is a ton of young talent, and the team has never been this hungry. A win tonight and the NBA takes notice....the Hornets are for real. We'll see. Frankly I'm just glad to have this level of excitement for the first time since Larry and lonzo were here.

February 2, 2021 – The NBA announced today that Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball has been named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for games played Tuesday, December 22 through Sunday January 31st. Ball is the eighth Hornets rookie to win Rookie of the Month honors and the fourth rookie in franchise history to win Rookie of the Month in the first month it was awarded. During the Hornets 20 games played from Dec. 22 to Jan. 31, Ball helped guide the Hornets to a 9-11 record (.450), tied for the seventh best winning percentage in the Eastern Conference. He ranked third in points (12.2), second in rebounds (5.9), first in assists (6.1) and first in steals (1.5) per game among rookies while ranking tied for 17th in assists and tied for 13th in steals per game in the NBA over that time. Ball totaled 243 points, 118 rebounds and 121 assists in his first 20 games, making him just the seventh player with at least 225 points, 115 rebounds and 115 assists through the player’s first 20 career games.

Trade up with Dolphins seems the most likely at this point
Captain Morgan replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think there is a strong possibility the new regime in Atlanta says we're sticking with Ryan because we've got a lot of talent on the team, it's just been horribly managed. Meaning they could be very likely to trade back and get a slew of picks to stock the team for a run sooner rather than later....and the team they trade with will give up a lot because they want...a quarterback. That's about the worst situation we can be in....Falcons get better, and we don't get a QB. -
let's see what the market will bear. I don't mind the draft picks, but I can't give up that much plus two of our 3 young defensive starters. That much capital would almost cripple any team. But that's a good thing for Houston to open with. I don't think anyone will give them that, and we talking about a top 8 pick this year as part of the equation. So let some time go by, and see how much they'll come down.

hate we didn't get Stafford....just saw this on twitter

Panthers confirmed to be in Stafford discussion
Captain Morgan replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is good to hear. Yesterday all the media speculation was on the Rams getting him. -
Hornets needed this win with a tough schedule ahead.

One last chance to watch Matt and his staff mic'd up during practice today. 2 pm. If you haven't watched one yet, you need to. ESPNU

love having mics on our coaches this week. Phil Snow is an excellent coach.
