  1. somewhat related, Butler just took a pay cut to avoid being released.
  2. From what I've read the Panthers will be getting a 5th and a 6th.
  3. guessing that would be our comp pick. If it happens, looks like we'd get him for one year for 8.5 mill. Eagles eat 4.2 mill this year in dead money and 3.4 mill over the next 4. Sounds worth it to see if he can still produce.
  4. if Ertz starts following Bojangles, we'll know he is inbound. It's like Waffle House Index for the Panthers.
  5. It was a fifth. That may have been the pick we used to move up and draft Chinn.
  6. It would be a dream come true if he could be our answer at big man. I like Bismack's story, but we have to do better.
  7. If we get Justin at 8 without giving anything up, that would be fantastic. I just don't see him falling that far. Even if no one in front of us wants him, someone else will trade up.
  8. something to keep in mind. Let's say we end up drafting a QB and now we have all this cap room. We can afford to spend big on a long term Left Tackle. But do we really want to sink so much in both positions? 30 to 35 million a year on LT and RT? We could do it with a QB on a rookie contract. I could be talked into it. It gives us 4 years to get someone else on the roster. Speeds up the rebuild to win now pretty fast. But it might be a good idea to tag Moton, sign the left tackle long term, and then draft RT this year or early next for a strong affordable line long term.
  9. from the article... The Celtics and Hornets are among teams interested in Magic two-time All-Star Nikola Vucevic, sources said. Rival teams expect that any haul for Vucevic would have to be massive. The 7-foot big man is having his best NBA season, averaging 24.5 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 41.8 percent from 3-point range. Vucevic has spent nine of his 10 NBA seasons in Orlando. https://theathletic.com/2425373/2021/03/04/nba-trade-news-rumors-blake-griffin-p-j-tucker-andre-drummond-shams/
  10. lol Malik hittin that 3 off the glass to end the first half
  11. cool to think about our chances of losing almost all our games on this trip and we've been playing .500 ball against really good teams. Tonight we visit the team expected to pick first in the draft. This is also our last game for a week, so let's keep our heads straight and go home with a win.
  12. he's the most fun broadcaster that I've listened to in decades. Him calling the Hornets as they rise up this year has been excellent.
  13. Remember, Sam was an UDFA who beat out our 5th round pick (Kenny Robinson, who had a season of XFL experience. Might just have found us a steal here. Maybe not Norwell big, but pretty good if he develops.
  14. 8 of our first 11 games back on the road, and so many right back out west??? Why does the league hate us?
  15. This an Athletic article, so it's behind a paywall, but it's a good offseason read in a desert of non-trade news. None on this list are full time starters, and none make over a million a year right now. All of these guys are still on rookie contracts or first contracts as well. The 10 are WR Omar Bayless, QB Tommy Stevens, K Lirim Hajrullahu, DT Bravvion Roy, S Sam Franklin, LB/DE Christian Miller, QB P.J. Walker, RB Reggie Bonnafon, G Dennis Daley, DB Myles Hartsfield, Here's what the article says about Roy. "Roy started nine games as a rookie after Kawann Short was injured, so it may be a bit of a stretch to include him among players who are under the radar, especially given his 6-1, 330-pound frame. But c’mon, Roy was a sixth-round pick — albeit from Baylor — who had only five games where he played more than 50 percent of the defensive snaps. Roy is the quintessential space-eating run-stuffer who can give first-rounder Derrick Brown a break as needed. And I’d expect him to increase his productivity in Year 2. Salary cap figure: $828,493 " Several of these guys may not make the roster this year, but guys like Franklin, Daley, Roy and Bonafon are good cheap roster fillers who have actually competed when they got game time. These are good building blocks. I'm glad to see the youngsters getting playing time because they've improved and shown their value, instead of being relegated to the bench while a vet is signed off the street to fill in for injuries. This is a new model for the Panthers, and I like it. https://theathletic.com/2412561/2021/02/26/the-top-10-under-the-radar-panthers-in-position-to-make-a-splash-in-2021/?source=weeklyemail
  16. hate these west coast games that start this late...Draymond almost went Draymond early but didn't get ejected...yet. He wants to make up him being the reason we beat these guys a few week ago. Hornets don't look too hot early...had a lead, now trying to stop Warriors run
