  1. according to Over The Cap, which has already updated after the Bridgewater trade. Right now, $15,155,971 for this year. Next year...$87,933,462 Team Cap Space Effective Cap Space # Active Cap Spending Dead Money Colts $103,889,215 $85,559,215 25 $99,110,785 $0 Steelers $90,465,902 $74,250,902 28 $112,534,098 $0 Panthers $87,933,462 $73,128,462 30 $109,733,204 $5,333,334 Ravens $81,748,180 $66,238,180 29 $121,251,820 $0 Jets $73,048,977 $62,473,977 36 $129,951,023 $0 https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space/
  2. it's a pretty big gamble. We may find ourselves missing out on a true impact player.
  3. Farley won't be attending the draft after all...he just tested positive for the rona. That dude seems cursed. Meanwhile.. Joe Rexrode @joerexrode · Apr 27 Per @CharlesRobinson on Caleb Farley, says he's hearing Saints might move up to get him. And that Saints feel they may need to move ahead of Titans to get it done.
  4. well, Miles came to play. He is really turning into something.
  5. Get Up @GetUpESPN · 1h .@diannaESPN thinks the Patriots could deal Stephon Gilmore in order to move into the top 10 of the NFL draft. "I did speak to a team in the top 10 who told me that they've had calls with New England." Natalie Miller @Nat_NFLDraft · 34m I could see a first round swap between Carolina and NE for Gilmore.
  6. If they make a trade, they'll have to do it after June 1. Before June 1, a trade would leave 23 million in dead money this year along, to go along with a cap loss this year of $200,000. Then there will be 23 million in dead money over the next two years. Post June, they'll get 15 million in cap space with 7 million dead, 14 million move over the next two years, and 23 million more in cap space. I don't think they are allowed to trade him before the draft this year, and designate him as a post June 1 trade, but I could be wrong.
  7. He lives in a van, down by the river.
  8. after the pc last week, I feel CB is very much on our mind in the first. I think Surtain and Horn are the targets, and one of the two could be there at 15. It's a gamble. I'd take Newsome in the late first, and would move up to get him if we get enough capital in the trade and get a LT at 15. I wouldn't be surprise if Parsons wasn't even on our board but I haven't heard that.
  9. We have 16 players with first round grades. Trading with NE (15) guarantees us one of them. Trading with WFT (19), we could get lucky and still get one. If only 2 of the 5 QBs in draft are on list, and 5 get taken there is a decent chance one of our guys could fall to 19. But because of the risk involved, I'd want a hell of a lot from the WFT in that trade.
  10. At The Hive @At_The_Hive · 26m The Charlotte Hornets have won a nationally televised basketball game! 125-104 final. Wire-to-wire domination for the Bugs tonight, no fight at all from Boston. Devonte': 24/9/2, 6-11 3P Miles: 20/6/3, 4-8 3P PJ: 22/12/5, 4-6 3P Rozier: 21/11/5, 5-9 3P At The Hive @At_The_Hive · 1h It can't be overstated how much more confident Miles looks when taking/making pull-up jumpers. That's a real ceiling-raising development for him
  11. blowout! 4 Hornets score 20 points.
  12. wow! Miles hit a miracle to end the 3rd! bout a 35 footer!
  13. well it's been fun so far...up by 14 much of the first half. Hold that lead for 3 mins into the locker room.
  14. when we get Teddy off the team, we'll get at least 8 million in cap space this year, with a chance for a good bit more. Depends on the deal.
  15. love this team...so unselfish. You'd think that backups would come into the game wanting to shoot and make noise, but this team plays together. A lot to pull for here...as opposed to "assembled superstar" teams.
  16. Hornets win! love the defensive effort. We may not have the right answer all the time on d, but I love how this team keeps fighting. Martins give so much effort. Borrego doing a good job with what he has. We play Sunday early.
  17. Hornets battled back with Terry Roz getting hot. Myles looking strong and with just a couple of minutes to go, we have the lead and the ball. We need to win this game. Doing a good job of bleeding time, but feed the hot hand...Terry.
  18. tonight is a winnable game, and we need to win it. We're not far off from getting some of our injured guys back, and we need every win for playoff position. At The Hive @At_The_Hive · 31m Tonight's starting lineup (Graham/Rozier/CoMart/Bridges/Washington) has a +40.1 net rating in 41 possessions this season. Last season that group had a +9.5 net rating in 63 possessions. Need them to get off to a good start tonight. and those are our starting 5 tonight
  19. This is a pretty good guess. And as long as we have Darrisaw with a 1st round grade, and can pick up a second and still get him, I'll be ecstatic. I have a feeling we want to trade back and take a CB in the first. If we do, I hope we have a bunch of LTs with 2nd round grades, because I feel like this is our year to finally get one. I do understand the CB position in this draft falls off pretty quickly shortly into the 2nd round.
  20. oh man, if this is true, it is....unsettling. Excellent chance we'd get Slater, but we seem to want to trade back 5 or 6 spots and get a CB. Which would be great, and we should be able to get an extra second and find excellent value, probably 3 starters in the first two rounds. But we still won't have a LT. For the 7th year in a row.
  21. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 35m Fitterer also noted the strength of the second round this year. Quote Tweet Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 36m Scott Fitterer asked if there is a QB among the top players that they feel best fits the team. "Yes." Followed by laughter between Rhule and Fitterer.
  22. Jonathan M Alexander @jonmalexander · 36m Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer says there is a quarterback in the draft that they are excited about but didn't name that QB.
  23. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 30m Scott Fitterer says the deepest positions are corner, tackle and receiver on their draft board. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 30m *press corner to be specific Jonathan M Alexander @jonmalexander · 24m In potentially trading back, Scott Fitterer said they don't want to go past a certain point where the talent level drops off one of those top tier guys. In his introductory press conference, Fitterer said that's around 16, 17, 18 or 19.
  24. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 8m Panthers war room for the draft will be in the 300 level at Bank of America Stadium. They will have 10 people, which means all are fully vaccinated, per NFL policy for this year's draft. Masks will not be required, physical distancing will be relaxed and eating/drinking allowed. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 32m Scott Fitterer says they've talked to at least five teams about moving back and that there will be more calls this week. He says it will depend on how the board falls. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 36m Panthers GM Scott Fitterer says the team has narrowed the draft board from a couple thousand prospects to about 155. Alaina Getzenberg @agetzenberg · 15m The Panthers have first-round grades on 16 players, per Fitterer.
  25. at the Bulls tonight and Hornets come out flat...down 10-0...but then Devonte starts hitting, and Hornets get within 1. No answer in the middle for Vucivik who has 9 points and 5 rebounds midway through the first quarter
