haven't ventured out of the neighborhood today, but the few neighbors that have gone by in the past 30 minutes or so aren't even getting tire tracks down to the pavement. pretty sure the steady dusting from this morning left a nice layer of ice before this heavy stuff started
-
still just light flurries in Northlake... it's actually tapered off a bit since about 30-45 minutes ago guessing i'm just at the cutoff line of actual activity
-
also... my wife needs more snow days... my house smells like bacon
-
yeah, getting the random flurries here in Northlake now, so if it turns as quick here as it did out there, we'll be accumulating in no time
-
just heard from my pop out in indian trail, said he went out to give the chickens warm water and it was barely flurries, came in and turned back around to look outo and it just started coming down like crazy out there whenever it starts, it's gonna stick quick... ground is frozen solid
-
not i, but i never do my wife was told to stay home before she left today tho
-
my neighborhood is starting to get a little slushy, but it's obviously not salted... if the temps keep dropping instead of climbing like they were supposed to, it won't take long for stuff to start icing should be fun out there tonight and in the morning... glad i work from home instead of having to go out with the crazies
-
same in Northlake nothing on pavement since the temps are still relatively high, but this is heavy, wet stuff coming down quick... it's piling up on the cars/ground/bushes/trees
-
snowing real good in the Northlake area right now and already sticking to cars
-
you, sir, have phenomenal taste in music
-
outside of that first sentence... that just sounds like atlanta
-
the snow and ice isn't the issue... it's the jackasses down here driving in it

i was just at Buckeye Lake two weekends ago and saw Furthur at the All Good Festival... one of the best sets of music I've seen ever. saw Bobby with Bruce Hornsby and Phil Lesh and Friends there last year as well. glad that place is holding live shows there again, especially since they seem to be trying to keep the Dead theme alive

for the past week i've been listening to nothing other than full sets of the Dead from all different years and reading through all of the youtube comments. crazy community those deadheads were... i wish the heads i run with could come close, but unfortunately i doubt it will ever be the same. my FIL just passed three weeks ago and he was a huge, old school, touring deadhead... and while i've always loved the Dead, these videos/comments are opening my eyes a little more to the things that made him tick and giving me a whole 'nother level of appreciation

finally started The Way of Kings... didn't really want to jump in to this so early in the series' life since it's supposed to be something like 10 novels and only the first one's out so far, but I only had so many options left on the shelf of stuff I haven't already read. And I really wanted to get into something good, and I've enjoyed everything I've read from Brandon Sanderson so far. So far, so good, but only about 40-50 pages in.

i'm in the same boat... can't wait for the third book took a while to get thru the first half of the first book, but by the end of it, i was hooked. the second book was fantastic and now i just follow rothfuss' blog waiting for news on the third book at least from following his blog, i found out that he's already signed a deal for a second trilogy with his publisher which will probably take place in the same universe
