Two recent mocks I've done and liked.
-
Starks is not getting enough attention here. Edges, unless freaks, are not usually day 1 starters, and the safety position has the possibility to be even more thin than edge. Starks could be there at 8 and would probably start immediately.
-
i do too, just not sure what anybodys gonna be trading up for at that point. we'll see
-
he's mocking in a tough spot for us, right now anyway
-
still assuming they're running a similar 3-4 to what they run today
-
stackhouse looks like a great, late NT option, but no DL help until the 5th would be a hard pill to swallow. we would have to have an absolute stunning off-season and FA period to make that feel alright
-
not as D heavy as most (including myself) would probably like to see, but right now... I'd be pretty happy with this

gotta figure out what's happening with the defense this off-season. evero staying? 3-4 staying? those are important questions that nobody on this board has an answer for yet, and that needs to be answered before we can really start speculating (i realize i am saying this while actively running and posting mock drafts ) i think mason graham is a phenomenal athlete, but less of a NT than what i think we'd need if we're staying a 34 front. i think he makes sense if we're returning to a 4-3, but that's a MASSIVE if regardless of how much the fandom thinks it should come back and will fix all of our woes i also love deone walker, and my argument is basically the exact opposite of the above. 34, let's go... clogs the middle, let's the LBs play more freely and we could use an upgrade over tuttle. 43? he could still be fit in, but it's probably not the greatest of fits this is basically just the bpa argument. if you're just taking the best athlete, system be damned, you end up with jeremy chinn who never finds a role on the roster, wastes his rookie contract and then we wave goodbye and watch them get picked up by a system who can actually use them properly

if Carter is still there, he's gotta be the guy at this point. don't love him at 4, but at 7? sure, pull the trigger no Carter? Mykell Williams from Georgia 2nd round, I'm looking more and Deone Walker than the edges. If he's there to provide a big body in the middle, D Brown (if back healthy) should eat I'm also enamored with Landon Jackson, simply on measurables. Seems more a hand in the dirt, 43 end than a 34 edge, but maybe he slides in a 34 DE on passing downs. Similar feelings (despite the crazy measurables) on Jack Sawyer. If we're focusing on pass rushers from more of a stand up position, I'm also looking at Donovan Ezeiruaku and Kyle Kennard Then there's Dani Dennis-Sutton, Jared Ivey,I've, Mike Green and was watching Patrick Payton, but looks like he's headed to LSU instead of the draft

this condescension ain't it either some would probably argue owning a panthers psl likely shows low financial IQ

another 5 round mock i really like i am pro-evero (or, at least not ready to knee-jerk react and say he needs to be gone). knowing what was left of this D coming into the season and the early exit of Brown (and to a lesser degree, Shaq), i'm mildly impressed with what evero was able to do so, this draft reinvests in the D, stays with the 3-4 and grabs some weapons (and O depth) that will help whatever QBs are here in 2026. i'm also not sold on Abdul Carter being significantly better than some of these lower rated 3-4 OLBs, and this team needs immediate impact. there were plenty of players i would have been happy with at 5, so the drop to 10 was an easy choice and still netted Tet, and allowed the pick of a true NT in Deone Walker

Not sure about Abdul Carter just yet...
Crixtala replied to blueandblackattack's topic in Carolina Panthers
personally, I'm more concerned with mocks in December than January-April. the information currently is based off actual game footage. any movement post-season is based off of out of game info, which is WAY less important to me. now until draft is when most people rise or fall based off of pundit opinions, freak performances in physical tests in shorts or off-field drama. gimme someone who shows up in game, not the bench press or 40-yard dash -
man... you just zapped me to a lost memory with the rj gators reference

two more mocks from the past week or so I have joined the mason graham bandwagon and think he would be a great pick regardless of scheme or keeping in mind that brown will be back in '25. graham provides quality insurance for brown coming off injury, could line up beside him in 4 man fronts (seriously doubt we're moving on from evero or the 3-4, he and the defense were respectable with absolutely no names on that side of the ball) and think he could be versatile enough to play the nose or end in a 3-4. seems to be a sure fire, blue chip dude and i am hopeful morgan rebuilds the middle of the defense (line and backers) like he did the o-line this offseason

new mock following last night's first round and our (not great, imo, considering what was available) trade up and pick at 32 JPJ at 39 feels like a no brainer (LBs Cooper and Wilson went back-to-back at 55/56) Corley at 65 feels like "making up" for the XL pick. if we're going to see what BY can do, he needs receivers that can separate (and are going to be here for more than one more season). this pick felt no brainer-ish as well... Malik Washington, who I think would fill the same void went at 100 Trotter at 101 isn't necessarily what I'd pick, but if we haven't gotten an ILB to this point and he's there staring at us, seems like the pick our ex-stud MLB turned GM would make. I've fallen in love with Cade Stover here recently as he'd be a nice, long-term security blanket for BY, but TE is not the need ILB is Lloyd at 142 gives another offensive weapon and a drafted RB. panthers have to get with the times and stop drafting RBs early and/or paying their second contracts. Kitano Oladapo and Jonah Elliss were both still available here, and I wouldn't mind either Kamara at 200 adds depth to OLB. I've liked him since starting to follow draft prospects this year, but before last night's trade, it was hard grabbing him with the picks available. Pick 200 helps. Ainias Smith was still available here, and he's a late round, gadgety WR I've liked for a while. TE Dallin Holker was also available and could add some competition to the TE room Sam Hartman? poo, meet wall. If we could grab a career back up on a rookie deal, why not? gonna spend the rest of the day coming to terms with not only our first pick being XL, but trading up for it right move for the 5th year option, wrong move on the player. also, can this team find a poker face? good lord...
