  1. I'd still rather have Kony, even in hindsight. Especially after getting Remmers and Williams how we did and most especially after seeing the bust city picks of Kouandjio, Sankey, SJB, Moses, et al littered throughout the 2nd/3rd.
  2. Kony was a PFWA and SI All-Rookie selection. Who should we have taken at 60?
  3. To add to that, Cedric Ogbuehi is still recovering and the odds of him being a big time LT this year are country mile long.http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/173091/bengals-ots-like-andre-smith-slimmed-down-to-fit-faster-offense Not sure what else could have realistically been done to give us the best 53 man roster possible than what we did.
  4. DJ Humphries struggled mightily in minicamp and reviews overall have been far from positive even since this June article. http://espn.go.com/blog/arizona-cardinals/post/_/id/14570/d-j-humphries-overcomes-slow-start-to-offseason-workouts just saying.
  5. Only a matter of how many times. It's what he does, GMan emphasized it in the draft presser.
  6. As I said many times, in 2012 Cam threw the would be game winner in the dirt after THE most maddening game in franchise history, the Nakamura game. In 2013 if DeAngelo doesn't fumble we're the #1 seed, the playoff dynamics are completely different, and maybe we win the Lombardi. In 2014 we fought the good fight after a Hollywood script left us with one arm behind our back, and still had a punchers chance. Best case for them, even if they keep all their megastars (Lynch most likely to go first), they cannot keep the Kearse's, Irvin's, Okung's, Mebane's, Hauschka's, Baldwin's, McDaniel's, et al. Those guys have truly been the difference and their poor drafts have left them little in supply. Patience grasshopper. Only a matter of time.
  7. People said Michael Jordan couldn't make mistakes and/or wouldn't win a ring either for 7 years before he won his first. Cam is growing and less face it, to win THAT game against a more talented team at their place, chances had to be taken.
  8. 8/8 on 3rd down ain't gonna happen every game. Take Max out at center for a bum, add a healthy Star and Shaq, and that ain't happening, even with Jimmy.
  9. Bell killed our would be go ahead drive.
  10. Half of their roster, literally, is a FA after this year.
  11. Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor in the 5th is genius. But he also drafted Mark LeGree from App in the 5th. He also traded a 1st and 3rd and took on the salary of Harvin. In other words, he ain't perfect. He also has a clear different philosophy than GMan, who seemingly values the front 4 more than back 4 on D, the football player over the combine warrior who their guy likes, and clearly sees the value in keeping first round picks in 2015. GMan has been a part of 8 Super Bowl teams and is 2 for 2 here for division titles. I trust our guy.
  12. Not an option, for now, because they get him for only 1.5 million this year.
  13. Like hell they can. FYI, Sherman, Thomas, Chancellor, Wright, and Avril are already signed through 2018/2019. All deals but Sherman's are backloaded and his cap hit the last two years of that deal will still be 13/14 per year. Russ also wants an ungodly amount of guaranteed money. Something has to give. Sheer talent alone might keep them in the mix this year but football is also about chemistry and theirs feels amiss at the moment for countless reasons. Long term, you simply cannot have 5 straight drafts with no first rounder contributing long term, three straight stinker drafts overall, and an overrated QB hell bent on breaking the bank and still expect to keep rolling. Cannot.
  14. A house of cards. They will have gone all 5 years post-new-CBA without taking advantage of the free gift of a 1st round talent for 5th year option. Carpenter/Jets, Irvin/no offer, 2013/Harvin, 2014/ trade back for Paul Richardson who's worse than Corey Brown, and Graham who'll be a goner after maybe a couple seasons. Their top pick this year is a felon who was off most boards, and they gave up draft capital equal to the #27 overall pick for Lockett. There is open dissension with guys like Bennett and Sherman/Chancellor/Thomas are all recovering from injuries. Not as soon as they do. Theirs just ended their rookie deals and ours still have time. The ONLY guarantee in CLT is Cam and Luke IMO. You gotta have a drafting fool like we do with GMan. Whiffs or off years will happen, but they've had three straight stinkers.
  15. For a one day excursion, the Biltmore Estate and/or just about anywhere on the Blue Ridge Parkway. As beautiful as any drive in this country. Especially that time of year. Where are you staying? There are a ton of restaurants and it obviously depends on what you like. My favorite is Chimas. Welcome back!!!! I'm sure you'll get all the info you need to have a great time.
  16. Yeah sure as $hit, he'll abandon the small market that gave him no weapons or protection for four years. Oh wait...http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2015/06/01/cam-newton-contract-extension-2020-andrew-luck-russell-wilson/28302041/
  17. http://m.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2015/06/15/People-and-Pop-Culture/Good-Stuff.aspx? http://mobile.sportingnews.com/article/4591962-cam-newton-dicks-sporting-goods-foundation-sports-matter-program-charlotte-chapter-carolina-panthers-quarterback https://www.cam1newton.com http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12990868/cam-newton-trails-only-peyton-manning-terms-marketing-appeal-nfl There are tons more, but, it must really stick in the crawl that the native ATL son is the most marketable under 35 athlete in the game. But I guess that's just a sham to cater to major markets Auburn and Charlotte right?
  18. If the sources and common sense are to be believed with his agent, trading him for Marcell Darius and a couple picks is better than the (likely?) scenario given in the article. Again, they're screwed either way.
  19. Not sure what the holy heck you just said but don't quit your day job.
