I completely agree. And that does make me nervous. However a hand full of those players were lazy, some had no interest in football, and others were a mental midget. I don’t think Bryce is any of those things. My biggest worry is the mental midget part and him losing confidence a la Zack Wilson (Bryce is 10x the prospect Wilson was). I truthfully believe he’ll figure it out. I could be dead wrong. That’s why it’s a game. But I’ve watched enough of the good (in college) to think the skills are in there somewhere, we just need the right people to bring it out.

I would tend to agree but we’ve gotten to the point of people now saying he’s bad at press conferences and fidgets too much. Seems to me like he’s taking accountability although he may not have the answers right now. I think the hate has just gone over the top and people are looking for anything to pile on instead of seeing any positives. I guess that’s what 6 years of failure will do to a fan base.

My take would be hes scared shitless because he has no faith in this wr corp or OL. He’s bailing to early and when he does throw a catchable ball the WR inexplicably dives out out bounds or lets it go through their hands. He’s making a lot of mistakes and I hope (and think) it’s because he’s currently shook. If he gets better protection and consistently doesn’t have to fear for his life the plays will slow down and his play will speak for itself

And they conveniently leave out all the picks they miss on.. it’s a bit different when you’re in the public eye. Easy to say you’re a better GM from the couch. Mistakes are made from all franchises but it’s always easy to say you can do better while having no experience in the actual situation.. unless… is that you Marty?

This year sucks. Bryce hasn’t lived up to the hype. Some his fault, some not. burrow, manning, Lawrence, etc. all had bad first year. On top of that, we obviously had the wrong coach for him. im not willing to label him a bust yet. We don’t need 40 threads on why he is. No one questions his iq. His biggest question mark coming in was his durability and he’s passed that with flying colors. his height may be a problem and I’ll concede that. But emphatic statements declaring him a bust are absurdly premature. If you can’t handle bad football then I suggest maybe skipping the last few games im choosing to believe we’ll find the right coach to match his skillset and he’ll end up being the qb we drafted. My expectations have decreased from the expectations I had when we drafted him, but that doesn’t mean he can’t lead a GOOD football team to the playoffs (and dare I say Super Bowl). However, this is NOT a good football team. so cheers to Bryce helping us get the 33rd pick in the draft! Damn this bourbon tastes good tonight

Anyone that thinks this isn’t an upgrade is insane. Hed get a fresh start and probably have a chip on his shoulder to prove he wasn’t made by Brady. He’s shown some cracks lately in his logic but to say he’s not a great coach (at one point considered the best of all time) would be absolutely insane.

You can go ahead and consider horn a miss knowing that surtain went right behind him and is an all-pro

This is obviously a train wreck but people that are clamoring for a smash mouth run game are hypocrites. This site was just as bad when our team was 4-12 while running downhill power football. Everyone begged for a spread offense. Just because it isn’t working doesn’t mean you didn’t want this.

It makes sense to want the job if you believe in Bryce. Have him on a rookie deal. I’d imagine the sharks also want to be GM though which leads me to two candidates: 1) belicheck - I think this is not conceivable and not happening 2) harbaugh - I think this is much more realistic and is a no brainer -
It’s like planning a vacation with your girlfriend, booking plane tickets, then breaking up a week before departure. You’ve already bought the tickets. Just because the trip isn’t as planned, you get on that plane and make the best out of a bad situation. now you have no expectations, therefore any fun you have is extra.

Bryce defenders, please give me a reason why you're still hopeful

I think he’s too smart for his own good. He is currently looking to do too much based on being the best player on the field his entire life. Let his abilities catch up to his brain in an nfl game environment and he’ll figure it out. -
He’s 6 games into his nfl career, dubbed the savior of a franchise, and his wide receivers get no separation making his job to run straight difficult ?

He catches the ball so I’m content with him. We’ve had way worse

Blackshear may have won us that game just from a field position perspective being able to make a few plays with the kickoff returns -
Still too early to make any conclusions one way or the other

Our identity is being the kid in high school that never takes a chance and prays that good things come to him instead of going out and making things happen. We are afraid to fail. And as a result we are watching the entire league pass us by

This is not cmc where we’d want him to rest the rest of the season. If he’s healthy he better be playing. He needs to prove he’s not a bust. I don’t care if that means we are 0-15 when he’s ready. He needs to be on the field

This may be a new low for the site. Such a shortsighted perspective. You want to move the team and all of its history? Much easier to just pick a different team to root for. we are at an all time low. But if you’re done with the team then be done and move on. But leave it for the people that want it and don’t come crawling back if things ever turn around.

Derek brown is probably the better all around player but I truly didn’t understand why we included moore in the trade to the bears over him. DL is much easier to replace.

Im already praying that mingo isn’t the best Marshall

The good news is that Hurney was at least competent enough to hit on our first round picks, thus ensuring we lived in football hell where we had enough talent to remain average. fitt is so incompetent we wont draft a single player worth a damn and by the time tepper realizes and fires his ass we will have the #1 overall pick again with a new GM
