  1. baker I would say is borderline The panthers looked at him as generational iq player. People forget that drew brees was seen as pretty average until he paired up with Sean Peyton. He also put on some muscle mass. bryce is still young. I think his number 1 priority is finding a way to gain muscle. His instincts and accuracy are there. He looks like a kid out there still. it all goes back to my original point that he needs time to grow. His intangibles are too good for him to be this bad in my opinion. I get it if you’ve given up on him I just think that’s the entire issue with the nfl right now - teams don’t I think long term enough (and tepper is the number 1 culprit of that)
  2. People will hate it but I think he’s already solidified as our incumbent starter next year. Seeing what geno, baker, darnold etc have done, the nfl needs to learn that development is more important than instant stats. he needs time to grow and develop. And maybe most importantly, he needs stability within the organization. mahomes sat an entire year. Jackson and Allen both started as the backup their rookie year. I wholeheartedly believe we should have started Bryce on the bench last year and the organization is most responsible for his dismal start. Not helping the matter was an atrocious offense around him. Draft a mid to late round qb for a bit or competition but most importantly, give him the same system for a second year. I think it’ll pay dividends
  3. I don’t blame you but some of the throws he made against the chiefs are elite. And seeing he has the 4th best qbr in the nfl over the past 3 weeks. the good news is there’s plenty of season left to determine if this is a fluke or the real Bryce. By year end I think we’ll have a definitive answer one way or the other. Fortunately for us, everything may have worked out perfectly. Bryce needed to be benched. He reset and dalton got injured at the right time to give us plenty of games to analyze Bryce on. I’m optimistic for the future. Bryce has too much elite game tape to write him off this soon.
  4. I see 4 winnable games on our schedule left. If we win two of them and Bryce continues his progress, this season is a success. low expectations? Sure. But I think we’d have enough information to know Bryce is our starting qb next year and we can enter the draft with a high pick knowing what we need to improve.
  5. Our expectations have been so low it’s hard to know up from down currently. we’ve won 2 straight which makes you think something’s clicking. Yet Bryce’s numbers are by most standards average to subpar in those two games. did we win because of him or despite him? How much of his stats are due to drops and penalties. so many layers. Very hard to judge and glad I don’t have to make this call at the end of the year if things continue like they seem currently
  6. Drops. Penalties on TD throws. Fumbles. we did a lot to make Bryce’s day look pretty ordinary. He still looked light years better than the first 2 weeks. all we could hope for is progress and we’re getting it.
  7. Are we really looking past the giants… as a 2-7 team? let’s just focus on looking competent two weeks in a row
  8. He’ll continue to get killed and deservedly so. however, in an alternate universe where we have a contending team, I imagine he’d be a great owner. Pray that one day we can see him amongst the people when the city has the same buzz as it once had.
  9. Seems like a good mentor and teammate so maybe good to keep around for the young guys. Really no other reason to keep him
  10. At some point we need to stop drafting WRs with high draft picks. Just because we can’t score doesn’t mean the rest of the team should be neglected
  11. Pretty sure Trevin Wallace forced a fumble and continues to show he’s a ball hawk. He looks small for a LB but continues to be where he needs to be
  12. Truthfully some interesting perspective, whether based on facts or not. Brought some new discussion points to the table that i don’t think I had considered before.
  13. I really don’t mean to give a non answer but I really believe the answer is contingent on the rest of the college season. We will pretty surely be drafting top 2. I assume the giants are the other team. If we are drafting at 2 and there is a college qb that is a bona fide prospect (Jayden Daniels) then we draft him no question. if the qb class is a tossup I think we rerun with Bryce and draft a cornerstone of our defense
  14. Everyone deserves blame. But it’s common place for the CEO to take the blame when it turns out the entire business is run on child labor… no difference here. and he doesn’t make it any easier by what he says - saying he doesn’t accept mediocrity and such. Talk big game you better back it up or you’re naturally going to get heckled
  15. Say what you will about tepper but the one thing he has shown is he’s willing to move on from people fairly quickly if they aren’t performing. He seems fairly reasonable in that aspect, if not overly aggressive. if there isn’t substantial improvement I don’t think he’ll have an issue drafting a qb
  16. I’m not sure what you saw today that would lead you to believe we have made a year of progress. Honestly if we were 5 years away at the end of last year we may be 6 years away now
  17. He didn’t look like dog poop which is actually a massive achievement considering the environment around him. So fingers crossed
  18. Let’s stick to realistic scenarios. All for benching him at this point but… come on
  19. Unfortunately didn’t know nfl was that uptight to block airplay… I guess my idea doesn’t work in this case. That seems ridiculous to me. But hey we are talking about the league that charges an arm and a leg to pay for Sunday ticket where the average buyer doesn’t care about 95% of the games they are playing for
  20. If nfl+ is mobile only and gets you the game you need I regularly use AirPlay and stream my iPad through my tv with no problem. Could obviously use your phone but using the tablet keeps my phone freed up during the game so it doesn’t restrict by ability to complain on this site real time…
  21. This is definitely the content this site needs 2 days before kickoff coming off a historically bad season
  22. Usually I’d call this a fluff piece but Bryce looked so indecisive last year that this seems like a huge change. Go through your progressions and if you don’t see anything RUN. If you can’t run, then throw it away
  23. Kelvin Benjamin is a case study of what laziness can do to someone. Cost himself millions on millions of dollars because he couldn’t maintain focus
  24. We’ve had a lost worse than Ron. He coached us through the greatest period in panthers history. Not sure I understand any negativity towards him.
  25. Never took the next step we expected. Unfortunately legacy will be tarnished for being the leader of our defense through our lowest years
