Anyone worth keeping keeping next year needs to be on the injury report. Not a home game, no playoff chances & really no chance to win anyway. Keep the good guys safe for the off-season. This should be treated as a Preseason game for next year.

You are right on. Rivers’s teams almost always start slow but finished strong. Rhule is the exact opposite. I have always been optimistic about the Panthers but this team has regressed in all three phases. Teams have figured out this vanilla scheme on both sides of the ball including special teams. Very hard to watch.

That play call was horrendous. Never understand why you play prevent defense unless it is a Hail Mary at the end of the game. They should have blitzed on the 3rd down play. At least show blitz & then drop back in coverage. Until Cam gets the playbook down the defense is going to have to step up. The offense did enough to win today.

I am thinking this is how it will play out. Once Cam gets the playbook down he will be the starter. We still may see a QB combo for the next couple of games.

I agree. I don’t think he can figure the defense out pre-snap. Even though the receiver is the first read based on the play call, he could not read the defense & understand the 2nd read would actually be open at the snap. He locked on the first read & danced around to the second & 3rd read & then panicked. it always looked a little odd how he made his reads. Nothing calm about him at all & it never looked easy.

Need to include Hartsfield in the DB group. He was all around the ball today & is looking good at nickel.

Dido! Cam does not have to be a world beater. If he can just be average this team still has a shot at the playoffs. Defense is ranked #2 & that is without an offense.

Agree with everything above. To salvage Darold’s career even as a backup in the future, he needs to sit the remainder of the season & watch from the sidelines. Hell I would put him in the booth so he can see the whole field during live action. It may help him with reads & understand the opposing defenses. Darnold seems lost right now. I feel bad for the guy. By the way, I could not find the refund policy on the Panthers website. I would like a refund for yesterday’s game.

I don’t think you can count the throw to Thomas in the end zone as a misfire from Darnold. Thomas had both hands on the ball. The QB has to throw a little high that close to end zone to get over the defenders. The pass to Marshall was an over throw & Darnold missed that one.

Best play of the day is when Brady spread out the offense allowing Darnold to walk in on a QB draw. Looks we need to spread it out on those short yardage situations. At least it keeps the defense from stacking the box.

The offensive line did not break down on 4th down. It was play action boot leg everyone knew that was coming. Bad play call on 4th down. That would have been a good play call on 3rd down.

I hope we don’t see Danold get slammed like this. Ouch
