REPORT: Panthers like Mykel Williams

I was hoping for a wr with some return chops or more upside like a rondale or Elijah Moore or Devin duvernay. Or swing big for an Amari Cooper who imo is underrated. But I can't get mad at a #4 wr and solid special teamer

The Athletic - Post-Combine Consensus Big Board - 3/17
PadresPanthersFan replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
At first I was vehemently against t Mac. But seeing the insane prices wr have been going for if they believe Bryce is the guy and if t mac is the #1 wr they have on the board then get him so we have a #1 wr on a rookie contract as they're now a 30-40 mill a year position -
Sometimes the best deal is the one you don't make. Wouldve cost too much draft capital and way too much $$ for a good not great wr

$275 million on 2 wr? Can they play d?

Reading the Tea Leaves: What Did Morgan Just Tell Us?
PadresPanthersFan replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great. This means we're drafting shadeur sanders then -
Ha! I'll trade your Rico for our miles anyway everyday
-
It's like they have have a plan or something. Fitterer would
-
I'd still like to draft someone for competition and depth but he seems like one of Morgan's Dawgs. Did we luck into 2 udfa starters last year?
-
E. None of the above
-
I kind of hope we don't. It would cost too much draft capital, too much $$, and imo hes a strong #2 with some injury issues who has never had more than 1100 yards.

Panthers agree to 1-year deal with RB Rico Dowdle
PadresPanthersFan replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Before this we had 0 behind Hubbard. Now we have a young explosive vet that had 1000 yards with a base of $3 mill for 1 year. 2025 is not a throwaway year. Theyre still trying to win and with a good draft they'll imo have a shot at the division. We need a good running game and Hubbard can't carry it 500 times. A rookie would still be nice but you can't immediately bank on them as a 3 down rb if Hubbard goes down. Plus Rico >>>>> miles -
Miles sanders - cut Brady Christensen ol 1 year $2.87 million Sam Martin p 1 year

X works hard and does get open. Mingo and tmj never did. X just needs to learn how to catch the damn ball

I will say that while fitterer was all over the place with no clue, Morgan at least seems to have a plan. Sign your good players, use fa to address big weaknesses, don't mortgage the future, and try to build through the draft. The results are still questionable but I can say we have improved. He realized first our interior o line was trash, addressed it and it might have paid off handsomely bc we don't have to draft a qb this year. I still think x will grow into a 1,000 yd 8 td guy which isn't record setting but strong, brooks was a huge swing and a miss, but Wallace, jt, Smith wade and Coker were all solid gets and he also got a 2nd rounder back this draft and got Mike Jackson for a 7th that would've been cut. This year our run d was trash so he addressed it with run d specific additions. Time will tell if it works but I am cautiously optimistic after years of being blatantly pessimistic and a good chunk of that is Morgan's work
