  1. The thinking is even a top 8 QB gives you a shot at winning the super bowl every year. The opportunity to land a 26 year old proven NFL QB just doesn’t happen very often, hence the bounty. The good news is the trades would be “paid off” by the time Watson is 29, and you’d think he’d have another 5-7 years left in him at least. Ultimately Tepper wants a super bowl more than anything, and he isn’t a patient dude lol. Maybe I’m just an optimist but I’m ready to roll with Watson if it works out, and if he goes to the Saints, well good luck to them giving up that bounty.
  2. It’s much easier to build a defense through free agency/draft than it is to land a proven top five QB which is an opportunity that comes along maybe once a decade if that.
  3. There’s no way he’s worse than what we have. Sign him, draft Malik or whoever the fug to backup. Darnold becomes the best third stringer this side of Gastonia.
  4. If only he gave as much effort as getting away from the cops as breaking a tackle.
  5. For the record, I don’t give two fugs about the charges as much as the idiot front office giving him a contract as if he isn’t an average backup tight end.
  6. yes traffic poo like a felony for trying and failing to get away from a cop At least don’t get caught if you’re going to be an idiot.
  7. Fwiw I remember Gettleman always stressing “there is no window”. His strategy was old school, build through the draft win in the trenches yada yada. Turns out he was dead wrong and “windows” are a very real thing.
  8. But we did invest draft capital in Darnold ffs but at this point why the hell not. Just keep throwing darts blindfolded each off season in the hopes of landing a starting NFL quarterback I guess.
  9. Regarding Cam, basically said the Panthers reps will sit down with Cam and his reps at some point. What I get from that is when Cam isn’t re-signed, he won’t find out from twitter.
  10. Never heard of him but Pep Hamilton is a cool name so I’m in.
  11. He got paid $6 million at least. Assuming he’s not back next year, I look forward to his name added to the stadium amongst the other Panthers greats. Hell they should name a section of the stadium just for him, maybe Cam’s Corner where kids can sit in hopes of getting a football.
  12. Cam Newton is inarguably the greatest short yardage back in NFL history. To claim with a straight face that Sam Darnold and Cam Newton are capable of anything similar in short yardage situations is astonishingly stupid. You’re paying Cam $6 million for half a season, and you just leave him on the sideline in this situation? Rhule deserves all the poo he’s taking for this.
  13. Who’s saying that lol, nice straw man. My response was in regards to you comparing the panthers to the Jags, which is ridiculous at face value. All I’m saying is people claiming Tepper is one of the worst owners in the league 3.5 years into the gig is a childish overreaction, which is not uncommon on sports message boards.
  14. the jaguars have been terrible for two decades. Their current owner has been in place over ten years. If Tepper is still flailing to find a coach in year eleven, fair enough.
  15. Fans are so dramatic. Tepper came in and invested hundreds of millions of dollars off the bat, bringing the franchise into the 21st century with headquarters, practice facility, analytics etc. Has it resulted in wins on the filed so far? No, but it’s a long game. Coaching hires aren’t guaranteed to pan out. When the Panthers landed Rhule is was regarded league wide and by national media as a great hire. It obviously hasn’t worked out the way everyone wants, but Tepper clearly is trying and invested in the team, despite what the knee jerk drama queens think.
  16. LOL wut? Quick google search shows you’re probably referring to a debunked Facebook post. Good lord no wonder half this country has gone off the deep end.
