Probably. If Lamar is really going after a fully guaranteed contract like the Browns gave Watson, I imagine the owners are attempting to make clear that Watson is an outlier and not the precedent. That said, if Lamar didn’t have the injury history he has, teams would say f it and sign him in a heartbeat….but the ravens wouldn’t have even let him go in that hypothetical.

Good for him, definitely leaving the Panthers media brand in a better place than when he arrived. Long live the Black and Blue Review. Throwback to this insane BBR knockoff I randomly found on eBay and had to buy. Bill got a big kick out of it.

Congrats Saints, you just got yourself a Kirk Cousins.

Charlie Campbell: Panthers love Bijan Robinson

The Chiefs just won another Super Bowl with like a 5 foot tall ninth round running back. Don’t do this -
I’m optimistic that the coaches will work well together, one small concern is the idea of “too many cooks in the kitchen”. You have several assistants with years of head coaching experience and guys who have interviewed for HC positions the last couple of years. If things go sideways, will Reich be able to keep those egos in line? I think he will be; Caldwell for example goes back with Reich.

Steve Smith on the Wilks vs Reich debate

Can’t edit previous post but Damn, Smitty has some of the best insight on coaching searches I’ve heard. Great stuff. -
I feel very strongly about this... Derek Carr.

This Coley guy is horrible. How do you not at least prepare a little regarding the Panthers coaching search? Sounded like a random off the street that’s watched five minutes of football. -
I mean, fug Rhule and all but Tepper Sports and Co. doesn’t exactly have a clean record of living up to its agreements.

Frank Reich's Intro Presser - Today, Noon EST
Cary Kollins replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I imagine he means fluff from the coach, ie all that “brand” poo Matt Rhule talked about. The HC can’t help if reporters ask him fluff questions. -
In the NFL a combo of good offensive line and good play calling are probably the most important ingredients for success. Even an average QB can look good behind a great line and good scheme. Panthers have the line, weapons on offense and hopefully now an offensive mind that will know what to do with it. All aboard the Anthony Richardson train?

Sure ok it’s worth a shot

STEVE WILKS - FINAL POLL THREAD
Cary Kollins replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
This. I was all for Wilks until this game. In the game of the season with everything on the line, he choked. I would rather fail with an unproven offensive minded coach than endure the mediocrity that comes with that conservative style of coaching. -
I got an awesome idea for our fanbase...

Literally too long, didn’t read -
This game was over when Wilks punted from midfield when we needed half a yard. Find the next offensive coach. We don’t need Rivera 2.0.

Their fans are absolute dipshits and their message board is the softest, least football-knowing fan base who thinks they know everything and their mods edit posts with no warning and they all can suck it so yes I hate them still and they can go to hell.

Matt Rhule: “I wish I never took the job”

My only concern with keeping Wilks as HC…

I mean, we have no say in anything at all regarding this or any other sports team, so why talk about them at all? -

What part of that sentence did you not understand? -
It seems Steve Wilks has all the qualities of an at least competent NFL HC. His influence in the way the team has played since Rhule’s firing speaks for itself. That said, speculation is Tepper wants an offensive minded head coach, something the Panthers have never had. I tend to agree this is the right approach, as today’s NFL is geared towards scoring. My main concern with keeping a defensive head coach is even if he’s highly successful, a carousel at the offensive coordinator job will be inevitable, and the offense will have to undergo major changes as OC’s come and go. Is this a dumb way to look at it?

Would a team in the top five trade that pick for two 1sts? Then we could conceivably take Will Anderson plus a QB with our pick. Now that could be interesting. Also gotta wonder if Fitt is thinking, yo I might not even be here in 2024 if I trade our best player…again.
