  1. Wilks blew it in the Tampa game by punting on two 4th and 1 opportunities early in the game. With the offense rolling and a chance to stomp the Bucs into oblivion early, Wilks chickened out and played conservative. It was a game where all caution should have been thrown to the wind and all the stops pulled out. How will he coach when he has security? Probably even more conservative. I’m not a fan of going back to John Fox/Ron Rivera conservative play bend-don’t-break defense (although often, Wilks’s defenses did break) and running the ball. It’s a new era of football where the rules heavily benefit the passing game. But ultimately who cares. Tepper is a horrible owner in so many ways and I’m confident whatever choice he makes, even if it’s a good decision at first, will be a failure because of he is too involved and obviously has no idea how to build a winning football team.
  2. Great let’s do what I thought we should have done last year!
  3. Tepper hired a head coach to a top 10 salary who not only had 1 year of NFL experience (as an ASSISTANT position coach no less) but who hadn’t beat any ranked teams in his time as a head coach in college. Guy was a thoroughbred phony and Tepper fell for it. Now he’s chasing Sean Payton who is probably still working for the crooked Saints to grift the Panthers and tank the franchise into oblivion. Whatever decision Tepper makes, I’m confident it will be the wrong one.
  4. I think it’s really weird he doesn’t just go back to the Saints
  5. Payton would half ass the f*ck out of being coach of the Panthers. He’d collect his fat paycheck, collude with the Saints to tank the Panthers into oblivion, set the team back for potentially decades.
  6. Agreed, the fact he punted on those 4th and 1s early in the game with a chance to stomp the life out of the Bucs early said he lacks killer instinct and is no different than Fox or Rivera. If they hired Wilks it’s not a horrendous decision like hiring Rhule was, but they need to find someone who is evolving with the modern NFL and can develop a QB
  7. The threat of a plane flying over the stadium with a banner saying “fire Shula” got Mike Shula fired so who knows lol. In retrospect I don’t think Shula was as bad as we made him out to be though hahaha
  8. If Reich doesn’t get a head coaching job I 100% guarantee he replaces Steichen as OC of the Eagles. Would be strange if Steichen was hired as Colts HC.
  9. Given all the rule changes that make playing QB much easier, it's not hard to understand why either.
  10. The candidates at least appear qualified and intelligent. The crop of candidates last go around was rough. Matt Rhule was the worst of them all.
  11. No. Following the Panthers is a waste of your life. I’ve got a full day tomorrow of housework, playing with my son, going shopping for a new front door, and if I have time I’ll go hit the driving range before dinner.
  12. Being intubated is rough. Yes he has to be in a medically induced coma and sometimes given a paralytic drug to keep them from moving depending on the type of injury. And then you can get other illnesses like pneumonia because you are intubated and all these other illnesses can walk right into your lungs. This young man has a loooong road ahead either way.
  13. I agree in principal but some of these guys also make more money in one game than I make in years if not my entire life. Criticism is part of their profession. I get not using hyperbole but these pro athletes sign up for it as well.
  14. I think they should discuss with the head coaches of the teams and the organizations and come to a mutual decision. If the players want to play it after what happened, go for it. If they don't, call the game a tie and move onto next week.
  15. Most states have a Good Samaritan Law that you can't be sued for performing CPR and that applied in this situation. However it took months for the court to actually throw it out and the girl's health insurance company was harassing him to pay a settlement. It was crazy. People are so sick and twisted in this world sometimes.
  16. CPR is scary. Good buddy of mine was an EMT for a few years. He was at a music festival and saw a girl collapse while waiting in line for the bathrooms. He performed CPR and was able to resuscitate her. Obviously he cracked her breastbone and broke a couple ribs. Her family, moreso the family’s insurance company, sued him. Luckily it got thrown out in court but it stressed him out to the point where he’s hesitant to even help people anymore.
  17. This isn’t as bad as many people are making it out to be. Skip is a professional troll but I didn’t read this as advocating the game should go on. People are just traumatized and looking to vent their emotion on someone. Hope you all do something special for your loved ones today. Call that relative you haven’t talked to in awhile.
  18. It’s so awful. That young man might have a long road ahead. Who knows how long his brain and organs didn’t get oxygen during CPR. The fact he’s in a medically induced coma could mean more damage has been done. I feel terrible about this situation.
  19. It’s just so weird and surreal how tragedy seems comes in bunches. Damar Hamlin is 24 years old and is in critical condition in the hospital right now. Life is bigger than any sport. Life can be taken from any of us at any moment. Go hug your kids, call your parents, love everyone you care about twice as much. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.
  20. It’s f*cking horrible. He might be alive but he was given CPR for almost 10 minutes meaning that’s 10 minutes his brain and other organs might have not been getting oxygen. Being intubated means a host of other pathogens can get into your body in an already weakened state. It’s so awful and am praying for that man and his family. This is just terrible.
  21. F*cking horrible. I’ve seen too many people I care about in the ICU.
  22. I am not so much beating myself up as much as I am getting numb to all the tragedy and grief. Over the last 3 years both my wife and I’s family’s have endured unexpected losses for a variety of reasons and now I’m just waiting for what awful thing is next. The cosmos upped the ante with my brother in laws death. Whatever is next will probably be worse. I pray it isn’t but life has shown me it is unnecessarily cruel. That’s why I say, enjoy EVERY MOMENT. You are not guaranteed tomorrow.
