Why isnt Lavishka Shenault getting more manufactured touches?
hepcat replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
That WR screen didn’t work, let’s try something different. WR screen to a different guy to the other side. That’ll trick them. -
Him ripping on Baker actually jives with steve being a team mouthpiece because they traded baker right after this

Kyle Bailey says Tepper isnt happy, wants changes now.

Step 1: Fire Scott Fitterer. He has a long list of terrible decisions that have crippled the team. Step 2: Force Reich to hand over playcalling to Thomas Brown. If he won't do it, fire him and promote Evero to head coach. Step 3: Bench Miles Sanders. Start Chuba Hubbard and Raheem Blacksheer. Step 4: See if the Rams will part with Cooper Kupp and some draft capital for Brian Burns -
They have been terrible in the red zone with Young under center.

List of NFL coaches fired after one season (2011-present)
hepcat replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's too early to say if Frank should be fired although I'm certainly leaning that direction. I'm of the opinion that if you're the coach of the team with the worst record in the NFL, you should always be fired. Doesn't matter if it's your 1st year or if you won the Superbowl the year before. If you are the coach of the worst team in the NFL, you should be fired. -

He should be cut for this sh*t -
Y’all got the years mixed up on this one. Herbert was drafted in the 2020 draft. Panthers won that meaningless Washington game in 2020 that dropped them from 3 to 8 in the 2021 draft, and they got Jaycee Horn as a prize. Would have likely ended up with Trey Lance in the alternative universe where they lost that game.

My dude, be careful what you wish for, because I am 100% certain that after the failure of the Rock Hill project, the continued poor performance of the team and subsequent poor attendance from fans, David Tepper is certainly beginning to consider moving the team. He has run out of goodwill with the community and with the fans. Their Linkedin page is their only social media devoid of constantly being berated for being an awful franchise.

He wants to get traded. Probably wishes he was on the Rams right now. All he's done is lose as a Carolina Panther. -
If Bryce busts, was that the worst trade in the history of the NFL?
hepcat replied to Captroop's topic in Carolina Panthers
Panthers have fell down the NFL pecking order to Browns/Jets/Lions(historically) levels. -
The trade itself is not horrible, if you land a franchise QB. And for all his faults I can't fault Tepper for pushing to get a franchise QB in the draft. The problem I have is that they spent all these resources and ended up drafting a 5'9 QB with limited physical abilities and touted his mental processing as his best attribute. Bryce does seem to be intelligent and scored highly on the aptitude tests, but his play on the field has shown he's not an NFL level talent. His play at Alabama was bolstered by playing with an NFL level supporting cast. Now I'm not ready to say Bryce is a total bust, but he wasn't worthy of the 1st overall pick, and definitely not worthy of the price the Panthers paid for him. Heads need to roll for that and it'll likely be Scott Fitterer, who has already proven to be a terrible GM for many other reasons.

Brown needs to get a real shot at running the offense without Reich hanging over him before we cut bait on this staff.
-
Evero coached out of his mind yesterday. 3 out of 4 secondary starts were out. Basically using practice squad guys. The defense scored a TD. They held the Vikings to only 14 points, 7 of which were on a short field. He's making lemonade out of lemons. On the other hand, the offense is absolute TRASH with Bryce under center. It's an amateur offense and I don't know the exact reason. The playcalling yesterday was absolutely god awful, but considering Dalton moved the offense considerably better the week prior, I can't say it's only the playcalling. Bryce Young seems to be the main reason the offense is struggling.
-
Someone is going to have to get fired. But I think the Panthers will need to wait until after the 2024 season to fire anyone. No reason to make a new coaching staff and GM try to rebuild the team without a first round pick. Fitterer should be fired immediately though.
-
Bryce will get 3 seasons most likely. 2026 could be when Arch Manning is coming out of college.
-
Colts fans are still optimistic about Young because they know Frank Reich is terrible.
-
The test Bryce didn’t pass is the oldest one in history, the EYE TEST. He physically looks too small to play in the NFL, his college WRs and support cast were elite, and he generally wasn’t the most impressive player on the field. I keep going back to the game vs Texas in 2022 and I was like, this guy is the prospective #1 overall pick? He was folding under pressure and getting dogged by a mediocre defense. I knew he wasn’t going to do much in the NFL that day.

https://x.com/nflrookiewatxh/status/1708602795358576836?s=46&t=04sKNnhiiGcTDblLYKGiJQ Sucks having to watch the other two QB options succeed. It was clear that Bryce was not going to be as good in the pros as these other two options. I will admit I wasn’t a fan of drafting Richardson #1 overall with his limited experience but Stroud had the resume to be #1 overall. I was fully out on Bryce after watching him get obliterated by a mediocre Texas defense in 2022. He had elite WRs that made more of the plays than he did. One silver living here, I was reading some posts about this very topic on the Colts subreddit. Most Colts fans are still optimistic about Bryce because they know Frank Reich is absolute trash. I work for a company headquartered in Indiana so when the Panthers hired Frank I got some scoop. He’s always been a bad play caller and the knock on him in Indy was he never got to draft the QB he wanted. So Colts fans are laughing at him now because he got to hand pick Bryce and he’s failing miserably. This just reinforces the fact we HAVE to fire Frank before he ruins Bryce and this huge investment they’ve made into him. That or start Dalton the rest of the year so Bryce doesn’t get shellshocked and ruined.
-
They are both bad. Frank might be a little worse at offense. Rhule had a defensive coordinator whose best season in the NFL came from coaching the line backers on the 2008 Lions who went 0-16. Let’s not get anything twisted here. They’re both awful coaches.
