Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2
hepcat replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bijan would have had even better stats if Ewers didn’t get hurt in 2022. Teams knew Texas was going to be giving him the ball. Ewers was very good last year and Brooks benefited from that. Either way I like this pick and think Brooks will be a tone setting RB the Panthers have missed since Stewart retired. -
Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2
hepcat replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I did not like the legette pick but I like this one. Brooks was very good until he got hurt. He’s not Bijan but he’s going to be a versatile bell cow RB. -
Would you have called it a good pick if they had chosen JJ McCarthy or Bo Nix? Penix has huge upside if he stays healthy. He has a cannon. They're still waiting to see if they lose draft picks too so this might have been a pick anticipating they won't have a 1st next year.
-
I must be in the minority but I think drafting Penix was a good idea. Cousins tore his achilles last season, is he going to be the same QB? He's also old and a a total weirdo. Penix tore his ACL twice. To me, competition at the most important position is a winning strategy. The Panthers don't seem to understand that though.

Now here's a question that'll cook your noodle, is Maye's situation better than Bryce's last year?

Xavier Worthy going to the Chiefs, oooo wee mayne, Worthy is going to be GOOD with Mahomes. Very fortunate he ended up somewhere that will use him correctly and keep him healthy. Potential all-pro.

Why the Panthers drafted Xavier Legette

Mingo is a bust, TMJ is a bust, here’s another WR bust. Thanks for trading DJ Moore idiots. -
Panthers Select Xavier Legette WR - Pick 32, Round 1

This team literally can’t do anything right -
I’m pissed they took Penix it was a good decision.

That article spent a lot of time and effort hyping up former 2nd round picks but failed to mention the last time the Panthers didn’t have a 1st round pick they finished 2-14 the following season. I find it interesting the Panthers team media remains relentlessly optimistic in the face of persistent abject failure.

Texans new uniforms. Past time for Panthers
hepcat replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think it makes sense for the Panthers to change it up until they have some winning seasons. New uniforms usually come with a new era. Panthers are still in a trash era that we should want to forget. -
Round 1 Game 2 Canes vs Isles 7:30pm
hepcat replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Just checking in to say I watched that whole game. Loved watching the Bruins blow it then the Canes with an incredible comeback, I pooped my pants twice during the game but I don’t regret it at all -
Smith Sr. & Zierlein discuss their top 10 WRs
hepcat replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Watched him a lot at Texas the past two seasons. He made salad out of sh*t a lot of times. I don’t think he’s a match for a weak arm QB like Bryce but put him on the Chiefs and it’s over. Dude will be in the pro bowl every year if he stays healthy. -
Smith Sr. & Zierlein discuss their top 10 WRs

Worthy is going to be a very good NFL WR if he can stay healthy. If he goes to the right offense he will be a multi time pro bowler -
The Athletic Dane Brugler's 7-round mock draft specular
hepcat replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Panthers need a RB worse than we realize. Sanders sucks and Hubbard is a complementary back. Brooks is going to be a good NFL RB. Texas has been churning out some good RBs lately. -
Cam on Bryce needing to step up and Tepper cleaning house in 2020
hepcat replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cam is 100% spot on about Bryce needing to step up and tell the coaches and management what he needs to be successful. Game on the line, who do you want to throw to? Bryce does need to answer those questions and figure it out with his coordinators. I don’t agree with his comments about Tepper cleaning house. I guess he was eluding to the fact that Tepper fired Rivera, which I think many of us agreed with at the time. Rivera wasn’t going to have the kind of success he had with Cam and Luke without them. I didn’t agree with firing Rivera the season especially in a season where you had lost your starting QB to injury and made lemonade out of lemons being as competitive as they were. But saying that they lost Kalil, TD, Luke, KK, Charles Johnson, etc because of that is a bit unfair. Those players were all at the ends of their careers age wise. -
If Penix is still on the board at 33 I honestly think the Panthers should draft him. He either motivates Bryce to step it up and Penix can be traded to recoup the value, or Penix takes the job. The Panthers need another potential long term QB option than Young after last years disaster.

The fact that Mingo is already being considered a bust is such a disappointment. They draft a 2nd round WR last year, they're drafting one again, this team is such a f*cking nightmare to be a fan of.

Spotrac: Carolina Panthers NFL’s top offseason spenders
hepcat replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was thinking the same thing. You have to spend big in free agency because you draft like sh*t. This is a bad thing. -
