You're blind if you can't see that. The number of first round talents on the defense is very high.

This team has a lot of talent. They could win with a more competent offensive coaching staff and a better QB. Even with the offensive line they have, not joking. The problem is really a bad QB and an offensive coordinator who doesn't know how to outscheme an NFL defense over the course of a full game. Look no further than the difference between player performance in 2010 and 2011. Steve Smith looked reborn after a pathetic 2010 season.

Even a 7th grader playing Madden franchise mode could tell bringing Darnold in without a competent veteran backup or 1st round rookie was a horrible idea with a high potential for failure.

I've been lukewarm in my support of him all along, just out of blind hope that he panned out. I wasn't thrilled about the staff he brought in considering how light it was on NFL experience. I even made a thread about how hiring all his familiar coaches could torpedo the Rhule era before it even starts. The team showed promise despite being severely undermanned in 2020 and never quit even in games they got blown out so I thought he could be a good coach given a better team. Well here we are after the first true game the team absolutely quit. Haven't seen that kind of performance since 2010 when the team quit on Clausen and Fox. I don't see it getting any better from here on out.

He wasn't teddy bridgewater

It's really as simple as Sam Darnold started playing poorly and it snowballed from there. The offense lost faith in him and the defense got gassed from being on the field all the time because they couldn't move the ball on offense. The team finally quit all together on Sunday against one of the worst teams in the NFL. It's going to get really ugly unless something miraculous happens.

Trading for Deshaun Watson could set the Panthers back many years

not similar at all. he was already on that team and didn't require giving up any assets. also that was like 15 years ago and a completely different era pre me-too movement. -

The rumored price Houston wants is multiple first round picks and starting caliber defensive players. If that’s true then the price is outrageous and ridiculous. -
Please don’t put that evil on us I’ve had enough of dumpster diving QBs
-
You have to keep running to set up play action, even if it might be into a stacked box. They just got shut down by a BAD Giants defense. Darnold was terrible but so was the playcalling.
-
Except they called 17 running plays vs 49 passing plays. I think we know why they lost yesterday.
-
They’re both bad QBs but I think they’re both better than Darnold

Making this trade in the middle of the season after a pathetic miserable loss would be a knee jerk move. They should not be making these major decisions mid season because who knows what the team will even look like if/when Watson would be able to play again. Darnold sucks, Joe Brady is probably out, hell if the team has truly given up like they did today, Rhule is probably gone too. -

I think it’s pretty clear giving up a large amount of assets for a QB accused of being a sexual predator, who might not see the field for what could be years, is not a good idea. I hoped my post would sway people who were on the fence. I think we as fans should be united in our opposition for trading for Watson. Yes we all want to win, but this would be a knee jerk move that wouldn’t solve the other many problems the Panthers have. It would be a horrible decision and I hope the team is not really considering it, despite how bad the team has turned out to be. The team will be better served by having high draft picks and not having the distraction of wondering if and when Watson will finally play football again. -

This team hasn’t had status quo since Rivera left. Rhule and co haven’t even established that yet. It’s chaos right now. -
He doesn’t know anything about football unlike Richardson. He needs to hire professional football advisors and step out of the way.

When did you give up on Matt Rhule?
hepcat replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Today. Team gave up. That’s all folks. -
Daniel Jones didn’t do that bad, give it to him

Jordan Love is waiting on the Packers bench for whenever that crazy bastard Aaron Rodgers decides to retire or actually force his way out of Green Bay. Would the Packers be open to trading him? Might take more than a first round pick but who knows? Let’s say the Packers are open to trading him. Anyone interested knowing he’s a total unknown? What is he worth?

Hence why I also said the part about how no one will forget these accusations and the PR nightmare that comes with it. -

Well imagine not having any 1st round talent the next 3 seasons, losing key defensive players like Burns and/or Chinn. And having a QB they traded for that won’t play until who knows when. It can get a LOT worse. -

The fans are gonna run him out of town if the team keeps looking like it has the last couple weeks. He is probably already taking calls from college teams. -

Trading for a guy who might not even play? Who brings negative attention to the team? Who might look a lot worse playing for a BAD offensive coaching staff? Sounds like a great plan. -

Definitely. At least the defense has some talent and kept the team in as long as they could. It’s like 2010 all over again.
