Assuming it's done do you select a qb this year or wait?
hepcat replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
You 100% draft a QB. If you don’t have a QB you’re the worst team in the NFL. Example - Panthers -
But to the point of the thread yes I like Quinn Ewers. I worry about his injury history.
-
Arch Manning and his family would NEVER EVER EVER allow him to play for the panthers
-
You can't play Bryce. He's not even throwing for 100 yards or any TDs. He won't make it out of the season alive.
-
Arch Manning will never be a Panther so get that out of your heads.

With David Tepper as owner the panthers might set a record for most consecutive seasons as the worst team in the NFL. -
so I've got to ask.. is it worth it being a fan of this team?
hepcat replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Due to other life obligations I haven’t watched more than 5 minutes of Panthers football this season including preseason. I’ve only caught a few highlights and a piece of the second quarter of the Saints game. In the end it’s just a game, a distraction, and it’s better to just focus your energy on your family and the things that bring you joy. No need to get upset. Yes, it’s terrible what this man from Pittsburgh has done to the team we all love but, in the end we have no control over it. He will continue to increase his net worth by shaking down the taxpayers to renovate the stadium and using it for soccer and other events. The Panthers are now just the league punching bag and that will not change until the current owner is long gone -

Well did you see some of the throws he made in that game? Yea it's bad teams and he has a looooong way to go in college, but he's got the talent and the pedigree. He just needs the experience. -

Ward could be a good fit on the Panthers. Ewers will be a very good QB in the NFL but he does have a legit injury prone issue. I also just don’t see him fitting with what Canales wants to do either. Ward might be the best fit for situation, and desire to play for a team like the Panthers. For some reason I see Ewers going to the Giants. -
If you guys think that the Manning family is going to allow Arch to ever put on a Panthers jersey you are dreaming. Ok maybe in some ironic sense that he’s wearing it to make fun of the worst organization in the NFL but no, he won’t be throwing passes for the Panthers in this timeline. Maybe in some alternate timeline where Ben Navarro bought the team and didn’t absolutely ruin it. Eli forced his hand to not play for the Chargers and in a few seasons when the Panthers have the #1 overall pick and opportunity to select Arch Manning (he’s not coming out this year) he would refuse to play for the team. I guarantee it. Arch might be his own person compared to his uncles and grandfather but he knows a losing situation when he sees one. We need to stop talking about him as a possibility. I 100% guarantee it never happens no matter how hard the Panthers try. The Manning’s would spend .05 seconds considering it. Tepper has truly ruined this franchise. I hope he knows how much the good people of the Carolinas despise him for ruining this once respectable franchise. He is not some good natured try hard man, he’s arrogant, brash, and rude. So it’s much easier to have that sentiment. Just sell the team and sail off on your yacht David. If you don’t have a yacht, you’re a billionaire why don’t you have a yacht?

I think Young needs a sports psychologist…..
hepcat replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
He is worse than Jimmy Clausen. That is hard to do. -
I think that’s a pretty safe assumption
-
They don't call deep throws because their QB can't see the receivers to throw deep. Bryce threw deep in college with a wish and a prayer because his receivers were so much more talented than the opposition.

Good luck with your cancer battle. It’s such a horrible thing. Like my dad did, fight until there’s no fight left to fight. Then go. -

I’d cut off my finger for another hour with him. I spent every moment I could with him these past few weeks once his health really declined. Cancer sucks. -
My dad passed away early this morning after battling cancer for roughly a year. He was 68. I was by his side until the end. I’m heartbroken because my wife is due with his granddaughter in December, who he will never get to meet. He fought as long as he could to meet her, but his cancer was too aggressive. One thing I always shared with my dad was watching Panthers games. I can’t count how many games we watched together. We would talk about the players, the schemes, the coaches, what plays we’d run in some situation…it was just a good way to get a father and son to talk to each other, and these are some of my most cherished memories. Not the Panthers, just the time I got to spend with my dad because of the team. He took me to my first Panthers game and many more over the years. My favorite memory as a Panthers fan is attending the Cowboys playoff game during the 2003 Super Bowl run. He kept telling me tickets were almost impossible to get and we probably couldn’t go, but on Christmas Day he surprised me by slipping the tickets into my stocking after opening the other presents. And what a great game that was to see, stomping the Cowboys at home. The stadium was electric that evening. The team sucks right now, I know, but man if they could pull out a win for my dad that would really mean a lot. He was a special guy, a much better man than me, and I could go on and on. I don’t know if this could get to the team or not, it probably wouldn’t make a difference even if it did, but I’m just hoping they win this one for him. Call your dad if he’s still in your life and tell him you love him. Thank you for reading.

Real Talk - A New Approach in Being A Fan Currently
hepcat replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
The answer here is when you have free time, feel free to check in with the team. But my advice is focus on your families and loved ones. If you don’t have family or loved ones, work on finding the love you need. We never know when it will be the last time we talk to people we care about. This is simply a game at the end of the day and a silly thing to get emotional about. I realize that now as I have gotten older. It’s still a fun distraction to rag on this group of inept bozos but it’s a joke that I can share with some people I care about. That’s all that matters. -
Chargers Sign CB Dicaprio Bootle To Practice Squad

That’s the best 9-8 team in history

Lost all interest in the NFL thanks to the Panthers
hepcat replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Spend time with your family. It’s important to tell the people you love that you love them because you never know when you’ll run out of time to say it. The Panthers don’t offer anything aside from misery and disappointment. -
Yes and no. Canales is young and inexperienced, and you expect some miscommunications and first game errors. What you can’t have is a QB overthrowing open receivers or adjusting blitz protection to the wrong side.
-
Watch his game against Texas in 2022, Bryce was never going to make it in the NFL.
-
Hard to judge Evero right now. They gutted the defense and replaced several positions with practice squad guys. Spent very little money on the defense compared to the offense this offseason. And when the offense is starting a QB has historically bad as Bryce Young it’s tough to say how bad the defense really is when your offense is turning the ball over and struggling to complete a pass.
