  1. Sounds like a great opportunity to make some monies selling distribution amplifiers and matrix switchers that hook up to a PC running YouTube TV in a bunch of browser tabs
  2. On the flip side, if Bryce Young doesn’t exist, CJ Stroud is a slam dunk #1 overall pick over the rest of the QBs this year.
  3. There should be a tournament for the 1st overall pick between the 4 teams with the worst record to prevent tanking. You have to WIN to get the top spot after having a bad season. I like chaos.
  4. Maybe if they’d traded up to #3 but not at #1. It’s Stroud or Young and I’m fine with either.
  5. Because he went through the same thing at his last job
  6. I have a feeling this quote was from Texas defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski
  7. Could be smoke from a team trying to get him to drop. Could be true. Who knows this time of year. I haven’t seen anyone smoking weed out of a gas mask yet
  8. If he needs to drop back so far to see over the line….in the NFL that’s a lot harder to do. I look at Young’s game against Texas as a good example of what he could look like in the pros. Young was under pressure the entire game and largely ineffective until the very last drive and finally evaded a sack to make a big play. I’m concerned if he can’t withstand an average college defense’s pressure, what will he do against NFL caliber D-Lineman? At his size he will need to get the ball out fast and dropping by 7 steps and surveying the field isn’t always an option when you’re playing a team with good pass rushers.
  9. Already spent premium draft capital on him so they might as well keep him through training camp. Maybe he shows Frank Reich he can be a long term backup or more. We have really barely seen him play at all let alone under a competent coaching staff.
  10. Evidently I can because I would have thought someone who has “been watching football for a little over 50 years” would know better than to claim the floor for an extremely raw QB prospect with a losing college record and accuracy problems is a Pro Bowl QB before they even take a snap in the NFL but hey, thanks for letting me know that your wrongness is just rooted in a lot more information.
  11. He was the 2nd most inaccurate passer in the SEC in 2022. His floor is Josh Allen? Come on man, are you new to watching the NFL? Like all QB prospects his floor is being a massive bust. Richardson's amount of college experience and stats are closer to Trey Lance than anyone else, except Richardson played in the SEC. Now pile on the pressure of being the #1 overall pick. The risk is SUPER high. I like Richardson, don't get me wrong. In the right situation on a team that is patient, he could be very good. But you just don't trade what the Panthers traded to get to #1 overall and pick a guy who might not be ready to start for 1-2 years, and has a huge bust potential.
  12. They didn’t give up what they did to trade up to #1 overall to draft a project. But hey, who knows what they’re thinking. I don’t dislike Richardson. He will probably have flashes of greatness in the NFL early in his career. His athleticism is off the charts. But there have been many QB prospects like him before that only have a good deep ball and running ability who flame out of the NFL before their second contract. If he was the pick at #9, I would have been fine with it.
  13. They don’t have time to wait for Richardson to be ready.
  14. 3 out of the last 4 years were either a Super Bowl appearance or NFC championship appearance. I’ll take it.
  15. Young is bar none the better QB prospect aside from his size. Honestly I worry CJ Stroud’s stock is a little inflated because of the UGA game and having Marvin Harrison Jr who is as good a WR prospect since AJ Green. He is going to be an all pro. I am fine with either QB. Stroud is the “safe” pick. Young is the higher upside pick. It comes down to who Reich thinks fits his offense better and that’s probably Stroud. But I won’t be upset if Young is the pick and totally understand why they’d pick him. If they can design an offense to protect him, Young could be very good for a long time.
  16. They lost some guys but their defense still looks pretty damn good to me. They replaced some with arguably better players too like Jovan Hargrave. And I wouldn't doubt John Lynch's ability to draft a few good defensive players even without early picks. Their safety Hufanga was a 5th round pick in 2021 and had a good season.
  17. There’s a good chance Purdy doesn’t play this season and even still might not be the same QB he was pre injury
  18. I’ve just got this feeling Darnold tears it up on the 49ers next year. They have a loaded offense with probably the best offensive coach in the NFL. They were probably heading to the Super Bowl if Purdy didn’t get hurt in the NFC championship game. Darnold was playing well in most games at the end of 2022 and that was on a team with Ben McAdoo calling plays. This is easily the best situation Darnold has been in and it seems like he turned a corner late last season. I think he beats Lance for the starting job and has a career season. Good for him for landing in an ideal situation.
  19. They didn’t trade up to 1 without a pretty damn good idea of who their favorite is. They’re doing their due diligence and throwing up smoke in case someone makes them a stupid return offer for #1
  20. I can say this, I won’t be as pissed if this current plan and regime fail. Because at least they gave it a grade A effort. They brought in guys who’ve had lots of experience and success on the coaching staff. I can’t say the same for the previous regime. Things inevitably go wrong even with the best laid plans, but I can’t say they didn’t make good decisions on paper to get there. That’s a major improvement over the past 3 years.
  21. I’m just watching what is happening now, compared the last 3 years, and wondering to myself how the hell David Tepper allowed Matt Rhule to coach an NFL franchise.
