This team shot their load in the first 10 of the 2nd period and now they are gassed. Just need to get out of this period 2-1 or the game is over
-
The offense needs to put goals in. They’ve had chances
-
He was at fault for their first goal too. Sometimes he looks like he doesn’t belong in the NHL
-
Kotkaniemi is garbage too often
-
Damn, Mingo made him look like a turkey

Yea I'm still buzzing about that late season 2020 win against Washington
-
Having a rookie QB could have given him a longer leash from getting fired. If he trotted Corral out there and he showed promise it could have bought him more time. Problem is it's a move he should have done from day 1 but he was too stubborn and/or didn't have the ability to develop a QB.

I agree that if they hit on Young the rest of the class won't matter just like the 2011 draft class was maybe the worst in Panthers history if you remove Cam Newton. And I agree that Fitterer and co have not been great at drafting. Disagree that 2021 was bad, but it wasn't good either. Most of their draft picks in 2021 have at least played in games and made contributions. Brady Christensen was probably the biggest win out of the group if he keeps developing into a starting guard. But it all goes back to passing on Justin Fields which is how we got where we are today. And in 2022 yea trading up for Corral was a desperate move probably perpetuated by Matt Rhule but since we saw Fitterer trade up again for DJ Johnson I don't think we can put his trade up tendencies on Rhule. Fitterer is just impatient and will give up future resources if he likes a guy. It's not a good trait to have for a team that isn't competitive yet and probably needs to be drafting with a wider swatch to find contributors than targeting specific guys on an already loaded roster.

Did the panthers overdraft all the players they drafted or is that just what the projections are saying

Bryce Young Speaks With Panthers Legend Jake Delhomme
hepcat replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
He’s an unproven rookie so I’m sure he’s feeling a lot of pressure right now. Hopefully he has some early success and we get to see his personality come out more. -
For some reason I thought he was one of those guys who had lost a ton of weight and was planning to retire but I realized that was Russell okung

I’ve been one of the most negative posters here since the day Matt Fool got hired but I completely agree that now that there is NFL caliber staff and very promising QB prospect on the roster that now is far from the time to be negative. Bad times are over.

Other than Bryce…. I liked the Mingo pick. Getting a big WR to pair and grow with your rookie QB was a good move. There were better players on the board but with Thielen and Chark not likely here very long it was the right move. B+ DJ Johnson pick was terrible. Traded up to get a 25 year old rookie with scant college production because he had a good combine. F- Zavala was a decent pick. OL depth was needed and he might start early due to the Corbett injury. B- Robinson was a head scratcher. Safety wasn’t a need and they really needed corner depth in this draft. C- I’m glad they swung for the fences with the QB but taking that out of the picture I give this draft a C+. There’s potential to hit on a few of these guys but I think there is a solid chance we do not see any of these players get a second contract.

He was a 6th round pick. The fact he contributed at all is a win.

You mean Matt corral switched to charmin ultra after the panthers drafted Bryce
-
They can sign him next offseason and make him a legit player. Cardinals are getting flushed for being the all time worst franchise in the history of all sports leagues in the world.
-
Oh yea huge drama surrounding Baker’s return to Carolina after 7 miserable starts
-
Henderson has made an occasional very good play but the bulk of my memory of him is getting burned for TDs
-
How many (if any) prime time games does this team get? I’m thinking for the first time since 2018 the Panthers will have a MNF game and probably play the Saints

Highest grade on nfl.com is EDGE Eku Leota at 6.13 meaning "Good Backup With The Potential To Develop Into Starter" projected to go in round 5-6. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/eku-leota/32004c45-4f77-2615-e3d6-a2255f6293d2 "Leota is the definition of a 3-4 strong side outside linebacker. He offers the toughness/strength to do battle and hold the fort along the edge. He plays with the same effort and aggression on every snap. Leota has above average skill level when taking on tackles and tight ends. His rush attack lacks a robust skill set and production might be based upon scheme, and secondary effort, in many instances. Leota has a chance to develop into a plus run defender and potential starter as a 3-4 edge defender." CB RezJohn Wright was 6.00 "Traits Or Talent To Be Above-Average Backup" projected to go in round 5-6. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/rejzohn-wright/32005752-4963-1850-24c7-68a3f57095d3 "Scheme-versatile outside cornerback with the talent and skill to become a successful starter in the league. Wright possesses the physical traits to contest throws in the NFL, but it’s his footwork and anticipation that keep him near receivers to make plays on the football. He’s very agile to mirror and phase routes from man coverage but will need to play with a bit more awareness from zone. Wright’s ceiling could be determined by his ability to open and run with deep targets, and his willingness to step up a little more in run support." DT Jalen Redmond 5.95 "Average Backup Or Special-Teamer" projected to go in round 5-6. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jalen-redmond/32005245-4461-3410-5102-5e80a97e82ca "Redmond's NFL Scouting Combine testing was outstanding, as he displayed quickness and explosiveness that doesn't always show up on his college tape. He possesses plenty of toughness but moves on heavy feet. His lack of bend makes him a linear mover with limited playmaking potential. While he might not fill up an NFL stat sheet, he does have the base strength for consideration as a rotational 4-3 nose tackle with some block-eating elements to his game." After that the guys they signed weren't expected to be drafted.

There’s a surprising number of top pass rushers who struggle against the run. These guys become one trick ponies
-
If they land a solid CB prospect and a backup OT I’ll be satisfied with the day. Let’s hope they don’t reach for guys they could get as UDFA

He said as much as the press conference
