  1. Let’s have some fun since it’s the Panthers offseason. He already promoted Dan Morgan to the GM spot, who had a large part in the worst 3 season stretch in team history. Was it because none of the external candidates they interviewed actually wanted the job? Who knows. The optics of promoting Dan Morgan suck. So how can he make it worse? Because I think it’s going to get worse. David “Murphy’s Football” Tepper seems to just figure out the worst decision he can make and double down on it. Hiring Mike Vrabel seems like a possibility. I’m not a fan of hiring another retread coach and Vrabel seems better suited for a team with a more playoff ready roster. The Panthers are going to be a long term rebuild and need a cohesive staff to be there for the long term. Or will he hire Dave Canales, who was a position coach only a year ago? His connection to Dan Morgan certainly nudges us to believe he will be the hire. Is he too inexperienced? Or will they throw Tepper’s entire bank about at Ben Johnson who I’m not sure has any desire to coach the Panthers? Lets wait and see how much darker it can get!
  2. If they had hired Dan Morgan directly from the Seahawks or Bills, we'd be calling this an amazing hire, a homecoming for a guy who played for the Panthers, etc etc The reason the hire sucked was because Dan was a significant part of the worst 3 year stretch in Panthers history yet still got promoted to the top job. The optics of it suck.
  3. Not a fan of Vrabel for this particular team. Vrabel is a good coach for a more playoff ready team. Chargers come to mind. I think he might have been a good fit on the Raiders. But no, for the Panthers, he's not the best candidate. The Panthers need to hire a young offensive minded head coach and let him take his lumps alongside the rest of the team. But I am starting to wonder if Vrabel and Arthur Smith are teaming up again wherever Vrabel ends up. Not a big fan of that pairing for this roster.
  4. It’s already happened, and it’s going to get worse. The Panthers are going to miss out on capturing an entire generation of Panthers fans. It’s incredible how little interest I see in the team compared to just 8 or 9 years ago. Having Cam was a huge boost to the fan base and brought a lot of kids to become Panthers fans. Now? They are missing out on getting a new crop of kids to become Panthers fans. I moved back to NC after living in TX 13 years and after talking to some other dads in my new neighborhood, they all say their kids do not care about the Panthers and some didn’t even know the Panthers existed. Some dads say they have tried to make their kids Panthers fans to no success and others say they’ve tried to actively NOT let their kids become fans by not watching games and renouncing their own fandom. A older couple lives across the street from me who are big college basketball fans and I asked them if they are Panthers fans. They said “used to be!” and mentioned how disappointing it’s been lately. One clear consistency across all these people I talked to was they are all fed up with David Tepper and think has done a horrendous job. I am not sure if Tepper knows how deep the damage he has done to the fanbase goes.
  5. Of all the coaches in the NFL who might have a gambling habit or tax issues, Ron is at the bottom of the list. I think he just loves football and has nothing else really in his life to do at this point.
  6. A cap management guy getting fired is surprising, if he was ONLY handling salary cap and etc.
  7. Well IG and Twitter followers were one of the earliest tells that the Panthers were drafting Bryce Young
  8. No one aside from the people who were fired when Reich was fired as far as I know. Tepper is holding them hostage until they hire the next head coach.
  9. Did yall see this? https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2024/01/22/panthers-gm-search-dan-morgan-david-nicole-tepper-jim-caldwell/?utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR1F7RVNs_yXcJc1jM8NXhdNoI7VYkgTR2laOm9lDjTa0f3XELsqaSteY7M_aem_Abw-CBCfjGZzHuTj0kz7UOEQNtUtPy-lv2VefHsw7GSNG9PGkVpeaeKTomrlZoF_KpQ#lrppkko66zri5xf5he6
  10. Wow titans got Callahan. Dominos start to fall
  11. I think the hiring of Dan Morgan might signal that the Panthers want to try to keep the functioning parts of the team together. Evero made cake out of pure sh*t on the defensive side of the ball last year. And he seems well liked on the team. Raheem Morris and Mike McDonald are other defensive minded head coaches in the interview process. Who is your pick for offensive coordinator if they go with a defensive minded coach? Some names I could see are guys who interviewed for the head coaching job last year who are jobless at the moment - Kellen Moore and Ken Dorsey. I actually wouldn’t hate Ken Dorsey as OC. He had a big part of developing Cam and Josh Allen. And he knows the read option offense. If Bryce is going to have any success in the NFL, it will have to be in that style of offense. Let me say I don’t LOVE this arrangement but, if they get the best defensive coach for the job, we could do worse as we saw last season.
  12. Pizza restaurants are a different category because it has a reputation for being fast food and I see a lot of sit down style pizza restaurants fail. A lot of times they’re not even a restaurant. They are a hub for pickups and deliveries and are a gold mine if done correctly. That biz was doomed from the start.
  13. Biggest negative is he directly had a hand in how bad this team has been. Biggest positive is maybe he and Fitterer didn’t see eye to eye, who knows. We don’t know how much of the decisions were on Dan or Fitterer or Tepper.
  14. Is the failed coal pizza restaurant off limits too?
  15. Never say never. The Panthers are cursed. Everyone knows it.
  16. He didn't really get a shot either. He got hurt in his first preseason under Rhule/McAdoo, and the Reich staff cut him. Given how awful the Panthers were this year you'd think someone would give him the benefit of the doubt. But his exit with the Patriots might be indicative of a bigger issue.
  17. Dan Quinn is not the right coach for this franchise right now. Would be a terrible hire. Quinn to the Seahawks makes a lot of sense. He needs to go to a more win-ready team. Panthers need a young coach who is ready for the big job but needs to take their lumps and grow with the team. It's been the coach they needed since Rivera was fired.
  18. What's even worse is he was bad from the moment he walked through the door. The decisions during the 2021 offseason were horrendous. We don't know how much was Rhule or how much was him, but still. He didn't have really any success. Signing Frankie Luvu? I guess?
  19. One of the main reasons Scott Fitterer deservingly got fired was repeatedly trading up for bad players. He was an atrocious GM and I am very happy he is no longer working for the Panthers. Legendarily horrible to be perfectly honest.
  20. The roster has so many holes they can't waste what little draft capital they have on another QB. They should definitely bring in some free agent QBs (plural) to compete with Bryce. Make him earn it. This franchise has babied Sam Darnold and Bryce Young to pathetic results. Get a QB who earns the f*cking job.
  21. I don't see Slowik on the second round of interviews yet. Interesting to see Evero and Raheem Morris go into second round interview since both are defensive specialist although both have some coaching experience on offense as well.
  22. I overlooked this but Raheem Morris was on the Redskins staff under Mike Shanahan. He spent time working on the same staff as Kyle Shanahan in Atlanta and with Sean McVay in LA. He could be an interesting dark horse candidate. Only drawback is he is a defensive coach. Goes against what Tepper wants.
  23. Ruined their drive. Dumb call. Running game finally breaks one and they call a bonehead triple reverse pass?
  24. Burn the panthers stadium down for passing on Stroud. No one left alive.
