It’s fair and accurate. Moreso they should just put a picture of David Tepper and it’d make even more sense

Slowik is one of the last candidates out there that spent time under Mike Shanahan whose coaching tree is one of the best in NFL history. I’m very behind hiring Slowik. They can use the same strategy hiring an experienced DC to help him with the day to day head coaching duties or pair him with a veteran QB coach who maybe had been a HC or OC in the NFL for awhile. It’s a good hire.

I can’t say there are many if any positions that are settled on the offensive side of the ball.

Which franchises are known as the most well run?

Surprised no one is mentioning the Seahawks. They've been a perennial playoff team for 20 years. -
Non-coaching / player personnel improvements you want to see happen?
hepcat replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly just sensible and realistic NFL team building. The roster decisions made in the last 3-4 years has been beyond atrocious. Less trades, better drafting and player development. Retain core talent, let expensive replaceable players walk when needed after their rookie contract expires. It's not rocket science but somehow the Panthers have found a way to become the joke team in the NFL. Thanks Tepper. -
It appears they're all virtual but I don't see any way to confirm that. What I'm not sure of is who is conducting these interviews. Is it just Tepper? Dan Morgan? Mike Forde? It'd be interesting to learn what kinds of questions are being asked from the Panthers side. The news that Shane Steichen's virtual interview "didn't go as expected" last year makes me really wonder.

He is very likely on the spectrum. I don’t mean to say that in a rude way. It seems to have served him greatly in the financial world calculating complex problems to analyze risk and reward for his trades. It does not seem to serve him in the football world and yes that also equates to social awkwardness

Will Scott Fitterer go down as one of the worst GM’s in NFL history?
hepcat replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed since he was already a pro bowl level QB. If Bryce doesn’t improve he will go down as one of the biggest #1 overall draft pick busts in NFL history -

The Browns gave up speculative assets (draft picks) for a proven asset. The guaranteed contract was ridiculous but the amount given up in trade for a young franchise level QB wasn't insane. The risk was the criminal accusations which seem to have hurt his play on the field. The Panthers did the opposite and gave up proven assets for a speculative prospect. Your point about the guaranteed is valid but the Panthers took on dead money to trade away those assets to make these trades. CMC and DJ Moore were the offense since 2018 and it completely fell apart without them. The value there was insane to give up. -

Did another team give up a very good WR hitting his prime, the pick traded for a HOF caliber RB, the #1 overall pick which could potentially be a legendary QB? The price paid for Bryce is ASTRONOMICAL -
He’s definitely worth interviewing especially after getting a career season out of Baker Mayfield but let’s also not forget that he has Mike Evans who is going to be a first ballot HOFer and Chris Godwin who isn’t a slouch. The Tampa offense also had the benefit of learning the TB12 method for 3 years. Canales is an interesting candidate but the Panthers need someone who can build the offense up from nothing. Bobby Slowik or Ben Johnson seem to fit that bill better.

We may never truly know whose decision it really was but I think the fact Fitterer lasted as long as he did despite terrible roster construction shows maybe Tepper did understand he did not set him up for success -
The Bryce Young trade could potentially be the worst trade in the history of the NFL if Bryce is a bust for what they gave up to get him. His list of failures is long and touches every part of being a GM. I won’t go into all of them but one of his worst decisions is the trade he didn’t make with Brian Burns to the Rams for 1sts and a 2nd round pick. What a dunce. The Panthers had a horrendous record during his tenure. Anyone else think history will not be kind to Mr Fitterer?

Tepper valuing process/organization over toughness and culture
hepcat replied to Bostonheelfish's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you have a guy like Wilks develop your roster for a couple seasons it can turn around fast once you replace him with someone better. The roster the Panthers have is atrocious. Thank god Scott Fitterer is gone, the worst GM in NFL history. -
They royally f*cked up trading up to pick Bryce. It was a huge gamble and they lost in every way possible. They aren’t going to be able to sell Bryce as a positive. His tape is garbage. They should be open to finding his replacement ASAP with any candidate and that might help attract a better candidate.

Pretty accurate but only going back like 30 years.

I feel like it doesn’t matter who the head coach is, the team is fundamentally broken at so many levels. The owner is a football retard and the vibe in the building is probably so miserable that it won’t matter if Jesus Christ himself coached this team and had the players walking on water during practice. It’s that bad.
-
Leave this man alone!!! That is one of the greatest panther players of all time. He knows this team is f*cking trash now let him take a nap.
-
Give it time. Tepper is a football retard.

Plenty of people on this board are crying because the panthers are now the new lions

Mike McCarthy is getting fired for this

Missed on probably one of the best QBs in the NFL. If he isn’t in a deep dark place, that means he doesn’t really care. And we know he does. He has to be depressed.

David Tepper might be borderline suicidal right now watching Stroud play well in the playoffs against one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Harbaugh to meet with Chargers next week, Raiders also interested
hepcat replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s why I say…the only way the Panthers could sway Harbaugh would be with $$$ the Chargers might not be willing to dish out.
