No brainer re-signing Hill with Jackson out the door. Probably had Hill all lined up before Jackson's release. Can see a low level vet signing for the other corner spot.

Ryan Leaf says Caleb Williams needs work, should sit for a year
hepcat replied to HardcoreHokie's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s amazing that Cam Newton, a former NFL MVP who played in a Super Bowl, catches more flack for his comments on NFL QB’s than Ryan Leaf, one of the biggest and most memorable busts in NFL history. -
Are we low-key tanking? Donnelly thinks we're half-tanking.

The panthers ruined this man’s life!

Would keeping Burns require another big D-line addition?
hepcat replied to Donald LaFell's topic in Carolina Panthers
Burns walks next year probably. They're renting him hoping someone trades for him. His value tanked last season. -
Nicole Tepper on the proudest moment since owning the team….

Came here to say the same thing. Garbage team gonna make bad decisions time after time -
There is actually a chance the panthers sign him because of the canales and Morgan connection which is wild. I don’t hate it in case young turns out to be the bust

Patriots move up to #1 to get Caleb Williams and sign Mike Evans ooo wee mayne

Texas got a couple transfers, one from Alabama. Isaiah Bond who was decent last year. If he stays healthy I think Ewers shows out and has a Heisman caliber season next year. Injuries are going to be a big factor for him.

The job doesn’t seem difficult to me. The problem is these roles require a large amount of boot licking and good ol boy networking to get. If you didn’t play football or weren’t football adjacent you will not be considered. They only allow guys like that to work with the monies.

There would be worse decisions than trading for a WR of his caliber.

There’s high chance this staff is equally dysfunctional in the very likely case Evero’s defense continues to make the offense look developmentally challenged. Many players probably privately think Evero should just be the head coach. Obviously a bright guy who will be getting a shot at the top job at some point.

Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns
hepcat replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
There’s two ways this plays out at this point. He re-signs with the Panthers for what the team is willing to offer him, and he goes on to be a good but overpaid player, or he is traded. Trading him is by far the better option of the two given the Panthers have the worst roster in the NFL. They won’t get what the Rams offered but they need to take all calls and offers at this point. If they could recoup something akin to a first round pick and young player with first round talent (preferably a WR) they should accept that deal with their balls swinging. But, this is the Panthers we’re talking about, and there is a third disgustingly awful trash hole option my brain is unable to imagine that is the probable outcome. Probably something like Burns not only signs somewhere else for no compensation but the Panthers trade a pick and their compensatory pick for him to leave. That seems like what is going to happen. -
I've been doing some scouting on TikTok and found our new oline.

Josina Anderson thoughts on the Burns situation
hepcat replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Panthers f*cked themselves not trading Burns to the Rams. Scott Fitterer is the worst GM in team history by a nuclear blast radius margin. Should have re-signed Reddick and traded Burns all along. -
Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns

Fitterer should never have a job in the NFL again after turning down the Rams offer of two 1st round and one 2nd round pick for Burns. It's unbelievable that offer was rejected. -
Bad look for Shanahan. I think he'll be on his way out of SF in a couple years. He'll probably win a Superbowl at his next team (maybe it will be us!!!!)

Cam is half right, Purdy isn’t Mahomes level but he isn’t just a game manager. But when he didn’t have all his weapons clicking, he couldn’t put the game on his back like Mahomes could. Wilks called a hell of a game. They held the Chiefs to 12 legit points. I’m not going to fault him for giving up 7 after that muffed punt. Shanahan let him down. They got a pick on Mahomes, who almost never throws picks, with great field position, and didn’t even get a first down. They abandoned the run in the 3rd quarter with the best RB in the NFL to give the ball to. Shanahan didn’t make the glaring gaffes he had in the past. But yet again he can’t close the deal in the biggest game. Wilks is going to get another shot at being a head coach, mark my words.

The 49ers need to put Mitchell and CMC in the backfield and run down their throats. Shanahan getting cute with his playcalling in the superbowl yet again

Put some respect on Sam Darnold’s name!

There were good moments of that halftime show but it also lagged at times and ended weird
