Horn gonna need to put on boxing gloves for the rest of training camp because he's gonna be a 1st down machine if he gets as grabby as I just saw in that gif.

Panthers Training Camp Thoughts and Musings - Monday Edition
hepcat replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm surprised to see Erving starting at LT, thought they'd roll with Trent Scott. Bet he gets some looks with the 1st team at LT very soon. -
Marshall is a 2nd round pick with 1st round talent, he should be working scrubs like Franklin and Hartsfield. If this was Horn or Bouye he was waxing I'd be really excited.

lol I'm not making this a Watson thread, just saying that's the kind of backup PJ Walker is. The kind that you probably never want seeing the field but if he had to come in for a few plays, he could move the offense for a few drives. If he's starting for you, your team is done.

Two or Three QBs, what difference does it make?
hepcat replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the strategy if Darnold busts is to tank the rest of the season, because that's exactly what having PJ Walker and Will Grier as your backup QB's is telling the fanbase. -
PJ Walker would be a fine QB backing up a stud QB, say if the team traded for Watson. He has legs to move the offense and enough of an arm to test teams deep. He's not a long term answer but he's a guy that can at least come in and make a few plays. Will Grier obviously is a bust and will probably transition to selling real estate or something. Panthers QB situation might be one of the worst in the NFL.

Still mystified this team didn't pick Justin Fields. Darnold is by no means a sure thing, neither is Fields, but it would have given this team two young, CHEAP QB's to battle it out and hopefully one of them would have emerged. QB is infinitely more important to win than CB.

Good throw. But it’s easy to look good in training camp with no pressure in your face.

Former Panther Kelvin Benjamin's attitude...

Career over -
Better than starting 0-4! But for real this team started 6-2 in 2018, 5-3 in 2019, and 3-2 in 2020. So I put zero stock into how this team starts.

Fit talking to "2 or 3 players" about extensions

DJ Moore obvious after that I don’t know who is worth keeping around. Maybe Jermaine Carter? -
Nah but if his offense struggles in the red zone with a different QB and a healthy CMC then I think he should be evaluated in year 3

Texans now indicate Deshaun Watson is available for trade
hepcat replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Watson comes with too much baggage. That massage sh*t needs to be done and settled before they should even consider a trade for him. And that’s not even including the ludicrous price the Texans want for him. -
What's the worst case scenario with Sam Darnold this year?
hepcat replied to 1of10Charnatives's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the Panthers and Teddy himself would like to forget the 2020 season ever happened. He already erased all posts that showed him in a Panthers uniform. -
I’m at least a little more excited about this season than last season but that’s not saying much. But in a scale of 1-10, 10 being I’m pooping myself I’m so hyped, I’m like a 3.

What's the worst case scenario with Sam Darnold this year?
hepcat replied to 1of10Charnatives's topic in Carolina Panthers
The fact they had Justin Fields fall to them and they didn’t pick him is still mind numbing. The only thing Sam Darnold has accomplished in the NFL is missing half a season with mono.- 63 replies

That's Clarkson McDuffery, classic Newton.

Moton or Samuel.... would you change who got Tepper's bag?
hepcat replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was a no brainer. Moton is an elite player who never missed a single game. Samuel is a good player but more easily replaced, and he probably peaked last season. He is also a bigger risk to miss games due to injury. -

Yea I’m interested for the right price. His value is much lower given the rub n tug biz -

7-10. Defense is better, McCaffrey stays healthy, so more wins come. But Darnold doesn’t take the next step and the team struggles to protect the ball and move the offense consistently.
