Canes offer sheet Jesperi Kotkaniemi (MTL)

Damn what a move. Not used to seeing straight robbery like this. -
We will see after practice. Daley or Brown is an improvement honestly. Michael Jordan in the mix.

To be honest that start and finish would be pretty par for the course for Panthers in recent memory. Hot start, complete and utter sh*t the second half of the season. -

Yea, someone is going to completely tank. Probably the Eagles or Texans. -
The Panthers will have a good season if two things happen: The defense can get off the field on 3rd downs unlike last season The offense can sustain drives and score more consistently in the red zone Thats really it. Those two areas improve over last year this could be a playoff team.

I had a dream last night I was on vacation in the Bahamas and I looked at the TV behind the swim up bar and the Panthers beat the Jets 20-17.

I think the coaching staff might be assuming these guys weren’t playing at 100% in the preseason and might turn it on when the season starts. Might backfire immensely.

Sean Ryan on key Darnold improvement (P-Wire's Rizzuti) & my $0.02

That’s a David Newton move geez. And he works for the team now. -

Gantt really pulled a quote from that article about Darnold and used it for PJ? Cmon bro do better. -
Fan article about mismatches favoring the Jets

He’s not wrong. -
Doesn’t matter what these fools think as long as the Panthers win games. Really going to come down to Darnold and the offensive line as we all know
-
He was the returner last year and he was recently cut from the Jaguars. He was perfectly acceptable and could step right in. Unless they are planning on having DJ Moore or CMC do it LOL

Roster Building: 2022 players under contract

The first round pick next year, I guarantee it, will be a QB, LT, or MLB. Depending on how this season goes. -
I was unable to verify this. And it would not surprise me if CMC was not vaccinated.
-
Bringing him back?
-
If Bridgewater could throw deep DJ would have had at least 2-3 more TDs last season.
-
My buddy is interviewing CMC tomorrow. Wants questions.

Do you think Sam Darnold will be the franchise QB of the Panthers? Who is/was your favorite teammate in your time on the Panthers? -
Can this guy really be "THE GUY" for the Aints

I’m not super stoked about Darnold. I watched him at USC and never quite understood why he was so hyped. He always felt like a 2nd-3rd round project QB to me. I’m not that optimistic he’s the guy but hoping for the best. Really wish there was a plan B on the roster. Jameis made sense where he was drafted. He’s shown he can play in the NFL but needs a situation more tailored to his skills and a risk averse offense. I think he turns it around in New Orleans. I’d rather have Jameis right now on this Panthers offense than Darnold. -
I don’t think Darnold plays the whole season. 11 games. ~2200 yards. 11 TDs, 8 INTs. 4-7 record. Panthers are in the market for a QB next season.

Jameis and Darnold are very similar. Both were highly drafted with a lot of physical tools and potential. I’ll admit Jameis has shown more at the NFL level than Darnold has. Tampa gave him some weapons at least. Going to be interesting to see if either QB can resurrect their career. Personally I think Jameis has a good shot. The Saints are a well coached team and Payton will put him in controlled winnable situations and not force him to do everything like he did in Tampa. Darnold, who knows. Already showing signs of being shell shocked in the preseason and the Panthers have a bad offensive line. We might be up a creek if Darnold flops this season. -
Panthers waiver claims and practice squad signings
hepcat replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
He’s a Rhule guy who tows the party line so he might be a tough cut. At least he’s not starting this year for sure. -

Agreed on Roy. He’s a dime a dozen time space eater who takes up a blocker so other guys can make plays. Replaceable spot. I never thought he was that great but I guarantee Ron and Hurney are probably bringing him to WFT -
