Yea I think it’s entirely plausible for Tepper to have hired a PI to check out Watson. It’s not even something that would have been a secret. The attorneys in the case both have PIs investigating each side and investigating the accusers and defendant. Tepper’s PI could have just acted like he’s gathering evidence about the case. There are no laws about deceptive practices in private investigating. My biggest concern is what the PI actually found, and if it’s not as bad as what the public is perceiving about the accusations, how did Watson still sit out an entire season and his charges go before a judge, and why does Tepper still want to trade for him?

Tepper is probably guilty of insider trading at some point in his career that probably wouldn’t be impossible to prove. Any unscrupulous personal misgivings might be a little more tricky. But hey look at Richardson!

David Tepper is a horrible sports owner. He needs to be seen as such by the larger sports media. Personally I’m glad I have Austin FC to root for so I can actively root for Charlotte FC to fail because I genuinely hate what he’s done to the Panthers.

Carter sucked. He was often out of position. Luvu was a decent move but I feel like he was the beneficiary of circumstance more than an actual difference maker. Like he didn't get a ton of playing time on defense but he made the most of what he did get. So hopefully if he gets more time he can continue that success, but it could be a gamble. Great special teams player though.

It's a monumentally horrible decision on many levels that have been discussed ad nauseam on this forum.

You f*ck up the chance of fixing the f*ck up by trading away assets that could dig you out of the hole you're in.

The Panthers are NOT the Rams. They are not a good QB away from winning a Superbowl. The Rams have Sean McVay who turned a dumpster fire franchise that hadn't made the playoffs in 12 years into an instant Superbowl contender. The Panthers have a fraud head coach in Matt Rhule who couldn't even beat a ranked team as a college head coach at a large budget Big 12 school. Now if the Panthers trade away their next 3 years of first round picks and also a few ascending young players, who replaces them? Free agents? UDFA? This team will be reeling in many other areas. Watson showed in 2020 he couldn't carry a sub-par roster. Trading for Watson will be a disaster. Mark my works. I hope it never happens.
