Where does the Cam "I'm back" moment rank in all time history?
hepcat replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's maybe a top 20 moment. It hits the list. But let's be real the team is 5-5 and there are many better moments that had a greater impact on the team than this. -
For sure. But I think Reddick is getting a nice 3 year deal out of this season. I don't see Gilmore coming back unless he takes that sweet hometown discount to keep his wife happy. DJ Moore needs an extension but the price for him is tough to determine. Is he a top 10 WR? There's a lot of good ones out there right now. Someone would give him big money other than the Panthers. But I think you gotta keep him. Would have been awesome to get Cam on a two year deal but I think he might be a candidate for 1 year extensions from here on out. The one getting the tag might honestly be Donte Jackson. Seems like a guy who thinks he's worth more than the Panthers might be willing to pay him. He's become a solid player but has an injury prone history. I think he'd be better on the tag.

Very underrated reason the team is playing better

Cam is back this is real life. I’m so happy.

That’s a man you’ll follow his leadership. Sam Darnold? Hell no.

"Robby Sucks" and "It's all the OL's fault" folks
hepcat replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is Sam Darnold’s fault. There were too many times he missed open throws with a clean pocket -
I missed this. Guys this is real. I just pinched myself.

Cam is 1 year younger than me I think he’s genuinely a strange dude

He was OC of the Giants for 2 years literally as soon as he left the Panthers. Not saying he was good but he was still an OC

Cam couldn’t save Mike Shula and those teams made the playoffs

who is CMC Jr and Bruno Mars

lol man, I posted about how happy I was that Cam was back yesterday. It was a desperately needed move on a team that has admittedly gotten pretty miserable. Now I'm thinking about how much better it would be if Cam had Dan Arnold to throw to and a 3rd round pick next year to beef up a pathetic offensive line instead of yet another corner on a team that seems hell bent on collecting them. Everyone is touting the "buy low" aspect on Henderson but lest we forget that the Jaguars gave up on this guy 1 year after drafting him in the top 10. What did they know that the Panthers didn't? Even the Jaguars aren't stupid enough to give up on a guy that fast unless something was seriously wrong. I'll bump this thread next year when Henderson gets cut in training camp because he doesn't give a sh*t.

Fitterer says " We'll have to do something with Sam. "
hepcat replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Otherwise he gets cut. Some other team will sign him as a backup I'm sure. He's getting that money either way but to stay with the Panthers they'd have to redo that contract. -
this is probably why Rhule expresses frustration when the offense gets blamed for losses

This Sunday.. Tight Game.. We're on the goal line........
hepcat replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was just thinking, watch how effective the red zone offense is now. Wish Royce Freeman had worked out, could have been J-Stew 2.0. Really like Abdullah so far though. -

I hope Cam can give us a good season or so. 16 more games. He finishes out this season strong and can play into next year before giving way to a rookie. But sadly I think we might need him even longer than that. Darnold might still be serviceable as a backup but he has to rip up his contract and sign a backup one. -
Problem is they didn’t give up just a 3rd it was also a starting caliber TE that had chemistry with a shaky QB. For a guy who isn’t playing and might never play due to lack of desire or mental health. My gripe is giving up yet another high draft pick for a reclamation project player. That’s a 2nd and a 4th for Darnold (failure) and a 3rd and starter for CJ Henderson. Two players dumped by the teams that drafted them.

For the first time in my life and in Carolina Panthers history…
hepcat replied to Bronn's topic in Carolina Panthers
We needed hope and Cam brings it. They were so dumb for not drafting Justin Fields. None of us would have been so empty of hope if there was a rookie QB taking his lumps this season. -
I’m just gonna go ahead and mark this trade under FAILURE. It was a total knee jerk move to replace Jaycee Horn and it has failed. CJ Henderson has barely seen the field and has been a healthy scratch on game days. Rumor has it he doesn’t care about football. When are we going to see this guy play? Next year? Never? Meanwhile, Dan Arnold continues to improve on the Jaguars and had started developing a nice rapport with Sam Darnold. Also giving away a 3rd round pick stings even more. Keith Taylor is a rookie quickly ascending into starting caliber corner. AJ Bouye came back from his suspension and has played average. Rashaan Melvin has played similarly. And lest we forget they traded for Stephon Gilmore too. Henderson doesn’t fit in the CB room now. I’d rather have that 3rd round pick and Dan Arnold right now. Side note I wish this team would throw resources at the offensive line like they have at cornerbacks

Cam has to be a captain right? -
I was ready to not watch the game this weekend. I had plans all set up at the same time as the game this weekend. Now I'm trying to get out of them so I can watch Cam play again. Why? Because the QB's this team have had after him SUCK DONKEY BALLS. This team is MISERABLE without a leader like Cam. Even if Cam isn't even as good as he was in 2015, or even 2017, or even 2019, he's still at 32 years old WAY better than Teddy Asswater and Sam Dogpiss. Those guys can't even hold Cam's jock strap. This team is going to look much different with him on the field. Even if he isn't good! Why? Because the players on the team respect Cam. Every player will try harder with him on the field. He is a winner. When the team got down against the Giants and gave up, I knew Darnold was done. No one on that team believed he could bring them back. With Cam on the team, there is hope. Watch Robby Anderson start catching balls again. Watch CMC suddenly be healthy the rest of the season. Watch the red zone offense suddenly start working. We might not win many more games with Cam. But there's hope. Something we'd lost with such a miserable set of QBs this idiot franchise replaced Cam with.
