Henceforth Ron Torbert will be known as Chocolate Rain

Offseason finally here. Let's get down to business.

Yes -
Matt Rhule didn’t even beat a ranked team at Baylor. He’s always been a fraud. Tepper looks like a moron hiring Rhule and it’s no secret why that loudmouth yankee hasn’t said sh*t this off-season.

Bad year to roll the dice on a rookie QB. Should have done it last year.

Joe Person on Carolina’s recent staffing moves.

If reading my rants about the Panthers brings you comfort god bless you and I will ramp up the vitriol in your honor!!! But in all seriousness, I don't know you but I am certain a brighter tomorrow is right around the corner. Keep doing positive things for you and your child's life and the rewards will come. Replace the bad memories with good ones. It's funny how much of your life you forget as you get older. This will pass too. -
I dunno how good of an actor he'd be he's pretty much just a standard meathead and there's already plenty of those in Hollywood looking for work.
-
Would just be easier to move the Superbowl one week later to President's Day weekend and a lot of people would get Monday off anyway
-
He'd just be a consultant, Flores would barely have any skin in the game. It'd be a win for him since he wouldn't need to be a full time head coach amidst his lawsuit which will take up some of his time and focus. And it allows Tepper to stick up his middle finger to the rest of the owners who gave Flores the runaround with the Rooney rule. He signed Eric Reid, I can see him hiring Flores.
-
I'm not sure about that. Blackballing him from the league would just prove his point. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't coach in 2022 but I think he should. I can see him getting hired by some team in a consultant or mid-level role as a statement from the NFL. The Panthers already signed Eric Reid who was almost blackballed from the NFL along with Colin Kaepernick. David Tepper seems willing to do it. Are you serious? F*ck no it wasn't too soon for him. Flores coached under Belichick for a decade and had two straight winning seasons for the Dolphins. Meanwhile we have some clown named Matt Rhule who had one season as an ASSISTANT OL coach in the NFL, not even a full position coach for Christ sake, but Brian Flores jumped to the head coaching ranks too soon. Okay bro.
-
not a big deal they just hired a new OL coach I'm sure he'll want to bring in his own assistant
-
Seems like the appropriate college for him to go run

It doesn’t look like Brian Flores will be getting a head coaching gig this cycle. Despite his lawsuit against the NFL, he is still a very good football coach. Matt Rhule and co have a revolving door on the coaching staff right now and more coaches could be leaving from what Joe Person has reported. Throw money at Flores and get him to be a consultant / advisor this season. A one year rental for a coaching staff that is probably doomed anyway. Flores would probably be down given his current situation. His team beat the piss out of Matt’s last year. Some may worry he’s a “distraction” given the lawsuit. Well good news for you boomers - he’d just be a consultant and the rest of the coaching staff will be intact. The Panthers suck fat dong right now so what could it hurt bringing a guy like Flores to have eyes on this team. I await your flame and poo emojis

Panthers hint they are playing a regular season game in Munich

Uh will it be considered a home game? -
DJ and Robby are too soft to handle Steve's personality.
-
There is your interim head coach when Rhule gets fired
-
I could see the Steelers doing it if they want him bad enough.
-
God I hope someone trades up and drafts him ahead of the Panthers. Would rather trade down and roll the dice on Willis than draft Pickett at 6. Pickett would have been a 3rd round pick in 2021
-
A little part of me enjoys watching him fail. The last thing the Carolinas needed was some arrogant douche from Pittsburgh buying the Panthers but here we are. Charlotte FC is probably going to be an even bigger joke and I’m not even being hyperbolic
-
Younger black coaches jumping ship because the Panthers are f*cking garbage and they’d be on a 1 year deal

Old enough to party

Matt Rhule now has two staff vacancies
hepcat replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hire Steve Smith for WR coach maybe he can coach DJ to have a killer instinct and get Robby to stop dropping balls by putting the fear of god into him -
A franchise QB can make even a bad coaching staff look good. Matt Rhule needs a generational #1 overall type QB to be anywhere close to successful in the NFL. That is probably why David Tepper seemed so willing to dump an insane amount of resources into trading for Deshaun Watson. Otherwise he will have wasted tens of millions of dollars hiring a wildly unqualified head coach. Talk about egg on your face, no wonder Tepper has hid from the public eye since the season ended. But the truth is, the Panthers aren't the only team in this boat. There aren't many head coaches in the NFL who can win without a premiere QB. The Bengals are a prime example. What a difference a healthy Joe Burrow made for a coaching staff that won 6 games the previous two seasons. And look at the Cowboys. Dak Prescott is clearly the only reason the Cowboys have any promise at all. The Cowboys sucked without Prescott in 2020. McCarthy's shortcomings are well documented. And look at the NFL playoffs this season. Except for QBs that Bill Belichick found (Brady and Garropolo), all the QBs who won a playoff game were drafted in the top 10. The Panthers were one pick away from picking Justin Herbert. If Rhule had been able to draft Justin Herbert we'd all be singing a very different tune right now. This might have been a playoff team as recently as even 2020, or close to it. Not sure if Rhule would have signed off on the pick because he obviously has no idea how to scout an NFL QB, but the fact remains that a franchise QB cures all ails. So all that said, the reason Panthers fans all have our pitchforks out is Rhule placed a pretty sizable bet on a known failure in Sam Darnold thinking he'd be able to coach him up. 3 draft picks and a $19m option. That's not peanuts. Rhule has one more swing at finding a franchise QB, in one of the weakest QB draft classes since 2013. I think we all know how this is going to play out.
