  1. Would surprise literally no one though. The Panthers are a disaster. This is what happens when a sleazy hedge fund manager buys an NFL team.
  2. lol too true Charlotte sports are cursed by second rate Jerry Jones
  3. Between the two teams I have no idea why any player would pick the Panthers over the Saints. The Panthers are legitimately an amateur organization.
  4. If trading for Watson made more sense with all the NFC South teams rebuilding, it airs even less sense now
  5. Bridgewater made sense if they had drafted a QB in 2020 or kept Bridgewater and drafted Fields in 2021. Management had the right general idea and f*cked it up hardcore. Should have just kept Cam
  6. he's a RT only tho, no Panthers interested incoming
  7. Saints would be dumb not to bring him back
  8. Yea I don't see why the Saints would move on from Winston especially because he would probably sign a pretty reasonable 1 year deal again. He already knows the offense and was on pace for a solid season before his injury.
  9. point taken, could be the case for some over the hill or overrated veterans with name brand recognition
  10. is he a paid tepper poster? someone here has to be a plant
  11. Like others have said I'm not even fully convinced the Texans will trade him unless Watson has truly made it clear he's never playing there again. Despite what he's said in the past I could still see him playing there again. If he's being traded, there's other teams with far more resources than the Panthers that can make a deal. The Eagles have 3 first round picks just this year. Seattle has more resources now. Pittsburgh is a far more desirable franchise to play for. New Orleans might make a push. I highly doubt the Texans trade Watson to Indy though.
  12. I just don't see why vets like this would play for the Panthers unless their skills have deteriorated enough that the Panthers are one of the few teams bad enough where they'd get a starting job. A guy like this can probably get more money on a better team.
  13. I think you're 100% right about that. Tepper has proven to be impatient, willing to make aggressive splash moves (as we saw with the early season trades last season), and he's also a very proud man to the point of arrogance. He's clearly embarrassed his decisions have turned the team into a laughing stock of the NFL, with other franchise calling the operation "amateur-ish". So Tepper doesn't have many options right now. Trading for Watson is the best one left on the table, even if it comes at the cost of having to salvage the reputation of an accused sexual predator, regardless of the outcome of the criminal charges. And it's just so f*cking sad this is what the Panthers have become. I am already not a fan of David Tepper because of what he has done to the Panthers, but for many long-time fans, trading for Watson would probably be the last straw. The mo And there's very little guarantee the move produces a winning team. The 2020 Texans were a mess despite Watson's elite QB play. It goes to show you can't put the carriage before the horse - the Panthers roster is not ready to compete and will be even further behind after a trade for Watson.
  14. @Vergesaid Tepper hired the PI back in October. @ellisthen said Tepper was prepared to trade for Watson in November, regardless of the status of his criminal charges. Maybe he did have hesitation before he hired the PI, but if Ellis is right, whatever hesitation Tepper had seemed to have gone out the window given whatever the PI was able to report. Maybe the case against Watson is being dismissed, who knows. Either way, the reports Watson refused to waive his no-trade clause for the Panthers seems to ring true. And my comment about the Panthers simping for Watson despite the fact he already rejected them, DURING his criminal investigation, says a lot. Watson doesn't want to come to the Panthers.
  15. bro too true. I feel like Ball is gonna bolt for the Lakers in a couple years and the Hornets will be back to being a bottom dweller.
  16. Makes sense and thanks for the info and take. The thing that I think bothers many fans is seeing the owner be so obsessed with trading for an accused sexual predator without hesitation. Because the optics on the outside look like the only reason Watson isn't a Panther right now is because he doesn't want to play for Carolina.
  17. @ellis man that reads like the Panthers are simping so hard for Watson. They would have traded for him despite all the ongoing criminal charges? And Watson STILL didn't waive his no trade clause? Tepper dude take a hint.
  18. If they can re-sign Gilmore to a reasonable 1 year deal I'm all about it. Maybe free agents would be more likely come here if the QB position was more stable. No defender wants to play on a team with Sam Darnold as the starting QB. You'll be on the field twice as much and twice as likely to get hurt. More work for the same paycheck.
  19. Yea I think it’s entirely plausible for Tepper to have hired a PI to check out Watson. It’s not even something that would have been a secret. The attorneys in the case both have PIs investigating each side and investigating the accusers and defendant. Tepper’s PI could have just acted like he’s gathering evidence about the case. There are no laws about deceptive practices in private investigating. My biggest concern is what the PI actually found, and if it’s not as bad as what the public is perceiving about the accusations, how did Watson still sit out an entire season and his charges go before a judge, and why does Tepper still want to trade for him?
  20. Tepper is probably guilty of insider trading at some point in his career that probably wouldn’t be impossible to prove. Any unscrupulous personal misgivings might be a little more tricky. But hey look at Richardson!
  21. On topic, this is perfectly Jerry Jones and honestly if he’s been financially supporting her why is she suing him? She wants him to publicly admit he’s her father? Okay…gravy train might be leaving though girl.
