Yea because he was wrong. Watson is waiting on the Falcons to make a decision. I'm sure they're busy trying to see if they can trade Matt Ryan to the Colts. I'm not sure how long Watson will wait for the Falcons. But if Atlanta drops out, that's the only way the Panthers stand a chance.

Correct. Falcons cannot take on Watson without moving Matt Ryan, it's that simple. Colts are the only team with the need at QB and cap space to make it work. It'll get complicated if Atlanta can't make it work. New Orleans requested a second meeting which to me says Watson was lukewarm on them. He really wants to go to Atlanta from everything I've seen.
-
Watson is waiting on them, not the other way around.
-
I don't think we'll see the Panthers ruled out until a trade is official. But the chances are definitely low. I think attention has moved to pursuing Garropolo or Mayfield.

Panthers have not been ruled out. But I think the only chance they have is if Atlanta drops out. Watson won't tell Atlanta no until they tell him no.

Watson is waiting for Atlanta to make a decision. He will be a Falcon if they're able to do something about Matt Ryan's salary. Colts probably the only viable trade destination. If Atlanta drops out I think the Panthers have a shot, but it's not a great one.

Panthers might not be notified they are out of the running until Atlanta makes a decision. If Atlanta is out I think the Panthers have a remote chance. Still very low. Watson really wants to be in Atlanta.

David Tepper - Come on in here and get this humble pie

I would respect David Tepper a lot more if the Panthers were never involved in the Watson sweepstakes.- 67 replies

If you're gonna go full simp mode for an accused sexual predator, you gotta deal with the backlash. If you're gonna hire a college coach who didn't beat a ranked team to a top 10 salary, you gotta deal with the backlash.

I don't know what is worse, simping for an accused sexual predator for over a year or being such a dumpster fire of a team that you are rejected by that accused sexual predator- 67 replies

alright fine it wasn't in primetime like I remembered it was in the afternoon but it was breaking news on the news stations around the charlotte area.

psh alright it wasn't in primetime but it was a breaking news story around the Charlotte area. NEXT.

Richardson had the Panthers in the NFC Championship game in their second season and in the Superbowl in their 9th season. Richardson didn't know how to build a consistent winner, but he at least knew how to build a team that won sometimes. We have an owner who knows how to do neither.
-
I would have rather the Panthers never pursued Watson at all. Tepper took down the statue of Jerry Richardson and made it a primetime news event. Then he turns around and outwardly simps for an accused sexual predator for over a year only to be rejected. Have some freaking conviction to your moral character dude.

David Tepper is just plain and simple a bad sports owner. 10 years from now I believe we will really be able to analyze the true damage he did to the Panthers on the field. Tepper is simply too involved in the football operations side of the Panthers. He obviously knows nothing about building a championship football team. That fact shows in every decision he has made, from hiring Matt Rhule, to getting rid of Cam, to bringing back Cam, and everything in between. Tepper appears to have some good things for the community, and I applaud that. But this is a professional football team. And the main job of that football team is to win football games. It isn't to offer a great fan experience, or to sell tickets in new field suites, or to do community service work. All of those things are well and good, but the goal of a football team should be to win a Superbowl. I just don't even know what to say anymore. The Panthers are in a very dark place and it's 99% David Tepper's fault. Things probably won't get better for a long while.
-
If the Panthers had fired Rhule, I think the chances Watson comes to the Panthers is much higher. But David Tepper would still be the owner.

It was over as soon as Watson’s camp reached out to Atlanta. Panthers were never his preferred destination.

Welcome to the NFL, where everything's made up and the money doesn't matter
-
Yes it does. It doesn’t take away the fact all of the interest to go to the Falcons has mainly been on his side and they probably don’t have the cap room to make it work.
-
The Falcons are his favorite football team aside from who he plays for
-
F*ck Pennsylvania that’s all I have to say.

No brainer. Good special teams player and solid depth WR.
