He isn’t going anywhere for that price. Part of the trade value of a player is the contract. A star player on a rookie contract is worth the most. Darnold had more value because of his contract. Jimmy G is coming off shoulder surgery and has a huge bloated contract. He’s worth like a 3rd round pick at the most. Someone might overpay but he shouldn’t be going anywhere for that price.

I liked last years moves aside from Darnold too though. Matt Rhule is still coaching this team on Sundays. And Darnold is still the QB. To me, not much as changed.

The narrative they kept him in the loop is BS. Just two weeks ago they were ready to go into next season with him as their starter.

Watson going to Cleveland will impact many QB situations across the league but maybe none more unexpected than Atlanta. Expect stories about Matt Ryan being unhappy with the Falcons management coming soon. They actively tried to trade him to get Watson on board. It was an about-face from what they were saying to him only two weeks ago. Falcons wanted Watson badly but couldn’t make it work money wise with Ryan’s insane contract. Now they are a mess.
