  1. I bet he’s considering 5
  2. Run defense was one of the worst aspects of the Panthers team last season. They gave up 100+ rushing yards in 9 games, all losses. They gave up 150+ in 5 of those games. Teams rarely win games giving up these types of numbers in the run game. Dallas - 245. Minnesota - 198 New England - 151 Washington - 190 Tampa Bay - 159 The Giants, Dolphins, Bills, and Falcons all topped 100 yards as well. Not much was done to improve the run defense either. Matt Ioannidis is basically a replacement for Daquan Jones. Ioannidis is known more for his pass-rushing ability anyway. Cory Littleton was signed to replace Jermaine Carter. Littleton's strengths were originally as a pass-defending LB, but he struggled all-around on the Raiders in 2021, losing his starting spot to rookie LB Divine Deablo near the end of the season. Haason Reddick walked in free agency, maybe his replacement Yetur Gross-Matos sees more playing time (and he might help a little in run defense). Otherwise, equally slight Marquis Haynes is in line for more playing time in Reddick's wake. The team also drafted another slight DE in Amare Barno. I'm not sure the run defense will be any better in 2022. The team clearly tried to improve the running game on offense. But if they can't stop the run on defense, they might not be in position to run the ball as we saw many games play out in 2021.
  3. They should just hang onto that space until some vets get cut in training camp and beef up the depth on the roster. A bigger DE with run stooping ability would be nice. Not sure if Ioannidis is going to line up at DE or DT. Teams ate the Panthers run defense alive last year.
  4. Too bad it’s not 20 years ago, this team would make waves! Running teams don’t win Superbowls anymore.
  5. 1. I agree, they played the draft as well as they could have. 2. Wish I could agree but given the Panthers atrocious record of drafting QBs outside the first round I’m not hopeful. 3. The fans think this many seasons around draft time. 4. I agree but even if he struggles he will still play better than almost anyone they’ve had in the last 10 years since Gross retired.
  6. I agree but they did note he has a lot of the same weaknesses as Darnold.
  7. That Matt Rhule connection must be the reason for all these penn state players
  8. That writeup makes it sound like we just drafted a less durable version of Sam Darnold with a little more running ability.
  9. Lol the PATRIOTS???? They’ve developed hundreds of great players over the last two decades f*ck off with this retard comment. Rams also have solid players they’ve drafted
  10. It’s kind of a no-sh*t comment. You can’t compete in the NFL if you don’t develop the players you draft.
  11. I think every draft looks good on paper. I have no opinion yet except I’m glad they FINALLY spent a first round pick on a LT.
  12. A very very poor man’s Hasaan Reddick at best
  13. I expect this to turn out a lot like 2010 when Jimmy Clausen fell in the draft and turned out to be a flaming pile of garbage, but that netted the Panthers Cam Newton.
  14. Would have rather had Howell over Corral for SURE. We already have a California QB on this team and he is a historically awful garbage QB
  15. Def would have rather had ANY rookie than Baker. If the Browns cut Baker I’d consider him
  16. He’s a twig and injury prone I don’t like it. I would have rather had Howell
  17. Lol Steve always gets a laugh out of me. That preseason game he called last year while he was drunk and verbally assaulting Joey Slye was legendary
  18. Would rather draft a QB than giving up any assets for Baker
  19. Matt Rhule shouldn’t even be here anymore
  20. giving up a player like Robby Anderson or trading away a pick next year. I really hope it's not the latter.
