  1. The longer we can hold out on signing these guys the lower the salary is going to be. I think once one signs the others will soon follow. I would love to see us use some of that cap for a DE. It would give me a better feeling for our defense.
  2. We're stupid if we trade for him. He is either going to be the starter day one since Watson is out or they are going to cut him sooner or later. Either way the BROWNS are going to pay him. Just sit back and wait. If they cut him, give him a one year deal and let him take his chances that he'll put Carolina on his back and have a great season. Someone signs him in 2023. It just doesn't make sense to trade for him with one exception and that's a one for one swap with Darnold.
  3. At 32 we might be able to trade a low round pick and maybe they pick up some of his money. He'd be a good match with Burns on the other side.
  4. Mostly you're correct. However some teams draft replacement player (1st rounders) and would be looking to play them and save money with the rookies. And if I am correct, June 1st cuts gives them the opportunity to spread the money out over a couple of years. (100% if that is correct)
  5. I also just read where Quinn wants out of Chicago. He's 32 and had a career year last year with 18.5 sack. I am sure part of his success was because he was opposite K. Mack who is now in SD. He's under contract until 2024. Report: Bears Pro Bowl DE Robert Quinn 'wants out of Chicago' (msn.com)
  6. Well June 1st is looming and some teams may be parting with players to save money. I just read an article where GB may depart ways with K-Mason Crosby, LB-Ty Summers and DL Dean Lowry. Has one heard of other names that we might be interested in?
  7. Living the dream Just never tell anyone whether it's a good or bad dream.
  8. The problem with many Huddlers is they expect ever pick to be a starter and if they aren't they are a wasted pick. I think we have build quality depth. Building through the draft is always the best way to build a contender and hopefully many of these picks, with experience, start to show their worth.
  9. BTW that is 22 out of 24 picks (not counting Henderson) that are still with the team with the majority of them actually seeing playing time. I don't think we can go back through our draft history and have that many players still on the team and most importantly. CONTRIBUTE
  10. I know you are far less optimistic about our draft picks but I think many of them have a chance to contribute to this team this year. While many may not start, I do believe they have to the potential to contribute more than they did the previous year. 2020 D. Brown - Solid but not as productive as as first rounder should be. Maybe he improves his stats. Gross-Matos - The key to the 2020 draft. DE's usually show up in year 3 (aka CJ) Chinn - I would like to see us use him more like we did in 2020 than last year Pride and Robinson are gone Roy - would love to see him step up some more this season. He's a load in the middle. STO - not a bad pick up considering he's a round 7 choice 2021 Horn - Should pick up where he left off. Was doing well as a rookie Marshall - I think he was in the rookie doghouse and hopefully he steps up. I have high hopes for him. Christensen - He'll start inside or will be a quality backup for guard or tackle. Tremble - McAdoo likes using TEs so I expect more production out of him as well. Hubbard - Some don't care much for him but I believe with an offensive line built to run the ball, Hubbard is going to show his worth. NIxon - IMO really needs to be that player that steps up in his second year. We lost some really good players off the D-Line and he could really help our D-line, ALOT. Taylor - he'll be in on certain packages and will also be quality depth if someone goes down D. Brown - He's like Marshall in the rookie doghouse. We brought in alot of O-line talent but he could fight for a starting position. I am really interested to see what Campen will do with him. Shi Smith - (don't want S. Smith some one might think 89) His legal trouble might bounce him. He would be #4 receiver and I hope like Marshall he steps up too. Fletcher - MEH Hoskins - Like Nixon he can really help our D-line if he can find his way into the rotation and produce. 2022 Icky - Along with Moton we are going to have trend setters on this team. I really like his attitude and he seems nasty as hell. Corral - I believe he is going to make 31 other team scratch their heads on why they passed on him and us for passing on him for 2 rounds. There is just something about him that makes me feel he is going to be an awesome QB. Hopefully, Rhule doesn't play the veteran card at QB. I think Corral will beat Darnold out. **CJ Henderson - We gave up this years 3rd for him and as Fitterer says he's our 3rd round pick. I think Wilks is going to get him on the right track and we'll have probably the best secondary we've ever had. Mays - I honestly think this may have been a Campen pick. He may be the steal of the draft for us. In this run oriented offense he is a perfect piece and should at minimum be a solid backup. B. Smith, Barno and Barnes we're drafted for their athleticism and I don't expect too much from them but I surely would love to see Smith show up.
  11. I think offensively if CMC stays healthy we are going to score some points. I would prefer to see Corral under center but as long as Darnold has CMC he'll play better. I would like to see us sign a DE. I am not sure whether Gross-Matos is going to final show his worth. This is year 3 and he's got to step up. If we can get some pressure I think we have the secondary to create some coverage sacks but we need that pressure. If the defense shows up, which I believe it will. We might surprise some folks.
  12. I could give a rat-@ss about what ESPN gives us. As far as I'm concerned ESPN is on the bottom of all sports broadcasting. Hell the Bleacher Report is probably ahead of them. Secondly, how are we 28th before Free Agency and now 32. Makes no sense. We've upgrade the O-line by leaps and bounds. Drafted a possible franchise LT and got the best QB in the draft. Yet we lose 4 spots. Obviously ESPN didn't do their homework.
  13. When you have a guy that wide open you are just making sure he catches it. No need to hit him in stride. You make sure he has a good ball to catch. No question of whether it would be a TD or not. I've seen some of his other videos where he hit the receiver in stride. Warren may have more access to all of Corral's throws and not just the highlighrt reels we see. Obviously, poor throws won't be included. It will be interesting to see in real game action whether Warren is right or wrong.
  14. Who ever leaked the conversation thinks we are. Come on don't you think Payton would do well with Corral. He knew Brees was his QB when he was in SD. I have never liked Payton but the man is a very good Head Coach. From what I heard yesterday whoever would sign him would have to give up picks for him since he is still under contract until 2024.
  15. This call got me thinking about what actually was said. I want to think Tepper was asking Payton what he thought of Corral. I wonder if his response was something like. "I think he is going to be a good QB, he's got the tools that I would really like to coach" Of course Tepper's eyes lite up and asked if he wanted to coach him. (This is purely speculation as to how I think the convo went) I think Corral is going to have a great rookie campaign if he gets on the field. I am hoping that if Darnold bombs out in the first two games Corral gets a shot.
  16. Sometimes a change of scenery works. It wouldn't be the first time a HC failed his first time out and later went on to success.
  17. That's what the tryouts are all about. Finding a possible gem. The TE room isn't overcrowded with Pro Bowlers so many he comes in and pushes our TE room to another level. Or could just be JAG. Someone to watch in the OTAs and minicamps coming up.
  18. @The Huddler I get what you are saying and for the most part I think he'll be better this season and show some progress. However, if this team, with all the talent we have, doesn't improve over the course of the season. I think it is time to move on. Last season was the first season since before Fox that our 2nd year coach didn't improve from the 1st year. I would venture to say that 2021 was worse than 2020. I thought Rhule lost the locker room last year and if he loses it again. He's done. That said I would like to see us retain everyone else but Rhule. I would move McAdoo to HC and have him select a OC that closely goes by his offensive scheme. Fitterer has built this team to run the ball, McAdoo's style of offense. Moving on from that concept will only put us another year or two in the dumps. I am pulling for Rhule to show that he's what we thought he would be when we hired him I want him to succeed and build Carolina into a playoff contender every season.
  19. There is no need to bring in a veteran like Baker or Jimmy G which would cost us more. This is why you sign Cam to a one year million dollar contract like he had with NE. Cam can easily beat out Sam for the #2 spot and be utilized in short yardage situation where we don't have to expose Corral to running too often. I'd rather have Corral, Darnold, Newton QB room than a Corral, Darnold, PJ Walker QB room.
  20. Mays was chosen because he has the tool and now he has one of the best O-line coaches in the game. We are clearly looking to pound the hell out of teams on the ground. You have to give credit to Fitterer because they said O-line was a priority and we add a couple of solid vets and two rookies that could possibly start. That doesn't count our very good 2021 rookie Brady Christensen. It's not going to be impossible for us to believe our worst unit, by far, becomes one of our best units in one off season.
  21. I'd wish he would sign sooner so he can get in on all the installs and workouts we will have prior to training camp.
  22. Trying not to get my hopes up but it sure is a possibility. I just hope Rhule doesn't waste a year giving the kid a chance to show up.
  23. I think his ability to get the team behind him is undervalued. Player gravitate to toughness. He's a tough kid and he's going to get the team behind him and they'll work extra hard for him. Imagine being down by a score and Corral motivates the defense to get us a stop. I can see him coming in and leading us to a winning score. I wasn't much on the Corral bandwagon but videos like this (I've seen several) really has me excited for what he can do for the Panthers. I just hope Rhule sees quickly how the team will respond to him. Can't wait until next week when the whole team is together.
  24. Agreed, I just hope he's gotten over his love affair with Vets and lets the most talented play. 2022 picks after Corral I don't see much playing time for them. Seems they have a lot of athletic ability and hopefully they can be coached up to contribute.
  25. For me Horn is a given. Like I said I think there is a good chance many of these guys get more playing time and will contribute to the team. Not many will be starters but they can definitely contribute more than 2021.
