Best and Worst PFF Grades for Jets Game

The only thing is you are banking on Brooks to be 100% healthy. God forbid Rico gets injured than we are completely out of quality RB. I am not sold one Etienne. -
Best and Worst PFF Grades for Jets Game

I was all for giving Chubba the opportunity to regain his starting position, after all we gave him a nice contract. However, the difference in our offense with Rico compared to Hubbard was like comparing night and day. Rico runs with a purpose of not losing yards, EVER. It's nice to have two good running backs but loyalty to a paycheck compared to output is absolutely stupid. Canales has to face the reality that Rico is a better back and should be treated that way. To the point where I want us to lock him up for several years. Maybe next year if Brooks comes along, we can trade Hubbard at the trade deadline next year. -
I think it is very important that he continues to make plays. Teams are putting their best corner on T-Mac and this leave XL the opportunity to excel. I am super happy he had a great game yesterday. Hopefully, he can live up to his high draft pick.

I'd love to get Howell, but I don't think the Eagles will trade him. The year he was with the Commanders wasn't bad considering their offensive line was crap. I know many don't like him i just think he would be better and anyone we could get. Winston is a pick machine and I'm not overly excited about getting him but Dalton is done. He's immobile and seemed very undecided on his throws. We were fortunate enough to get through yesterday's game without a L.

Official Week 7: Panthers @ Jets Gameday Thread

Pat Jones out time for the rookies Princely or Scourton to show up. -
Jacksonville is about to get run out of the gym. They can't move the ball and the Rams are picking them apart.
-
Super impressed with this guy. If he were 6ft he'd be a first round pick. I loved watching him play. Competitiveness through the roof. Kind of reminds me a bit of Doug Flutie.
-
Great that we get the help back but we need to stick with who got us here. No need it "inserting" former starters. I do hope that we run with two great backs. Work both horses and run the crap out of everyone.
-
i'm with you. I think he'll start paying off soon. He wasn't worth the 32nd pick but I think he still might give us some help. That TD against Miami was special. That was a well-placed ball and XL had an amazing catch. I think he's improved since last year. I just hope he starts to put more on the stat sheet.

We ran at will against two of the worst defenses in the league. Miami and Dallas. The Jets defense is much better than both of those two teams. S. Wilks will have his defense ready for our run game. That said we still have to run the ball. What gives me confidence that we will continue to run the ball well is that ALL the players on the field are blocking. T-Mac and Evans were both cited for their outstanding blocking in the run game. I think if we get over 100 yds rushing we win this game handily. However, if we don't run effectively than the last two games were just a fluke and we'll be down at the bottom of the list in power rankings. What are your thoughts? Fluke or Future

Hey You, You Don't Know Quarterbacking
DaveThePanther2008 replied to fieryprophet's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been a member of this board for over 20 years. The difference between now and back then is night and day. This was one of the only forums I knew that you could go a post and read post daily. It didn't matter whether it was in season and or off-season. The posts nowadays are mostly the same topic over and over just spewing hatred of our coach, GM, QB and owner. Not much good conversation. -
Then just abolish the entire stat. Every other QB in this league that gets one is heralded a star yet when Bryce does it, it's luck or it's not because of him. The bottom line he's the QB of record. He normally gets all the blame when we lose even if you defense couldn't stop a 3 yr old. He should get the credit when as the player that touches every single snap (unless there is a trick play). He follows the game plan and executes the plays that are given to him by our OC. Everyone wants to make it as if he calls the plays. HE DOESN'T but he does execute what was called. He the QB of record, he gets the credit when we score on a GWD.
-
If you nitpick these stats for Bryce Young than you should also do it for every other QB in the league. i am 100% sure that all QBs that have GWD under their belt have similar drives that are listed as questionable by the OP. Bottom Line most QBs don't call these plays they only execute them. If they succeed to get their team in position to score a TD or FG, it's a GWD no matter how ugly it may be.
-
Splash plays are important, but ball control is much more important. The longer we hold onto the ball the more we don't have to play catch-up.
-
I hope so too but there must have been some riff which kept him out of the line-up. This is why I think he is going to test the market. Hopefully DM signs him before we get to that point.
-
What I don't get is why it took so long to put him in. He should have been the first player off the bench when Hunt got hurt. I have a bad feeling he's not going to be here next season.
-
When your running game is producing 150+ ypg. 199 is sufficient. The object is to win the game. Passing enough to keep the defense guessing. 415 total yards is good. 261 and 3 TD is more to your liking? Got it. I know where you stand.
-
I think we are over emphasizing receiving stats. If he's moving the ball and getting it to the open receiver does it really matter who's #1 or #2? He was 68% yesterday but spread it around to 7 different receivers. Sure I'd like to see T-Mac or XL have a huge game but as long as we are moving the ball and winning what's the difference. As far as who we are beating. They are on the schedule and you try to beat who you play. I think our bigger issue is to minimize the early turnovers that put us in a deep hole. I am not sure whether Bryce can carry a team through the season when defenses focus on the running game but I'm hoping our receivers will be there to help him out when that day comes. ALL OF THEM.
-
My point in the OP was that talking heads were making a big deal about Rico being the top receiver in the game. We don't have or need to have a WR with 9 catches each game. I'd rather our QB spread it around and make plays. I don't seem to see anywhere this is nuthugging on Bryce.
