Bell was a UDFA compared to Little in the 2nd. Bell at least tried.

Just imagine if Hurney had succeeded in trading up into the 1st again. We'd have Little and we wouldn't have Brown.

Does the waterboy count against the 53?

Carolina Panthers Training Camp - Thoughts and musings
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I usually rely on you experts for comments but I believe he needs to get up to speed with the NFL and improve his techniques. I don't think he is going to be Little 2.0. All I've heard about Christensen was how athletic he is. If that remains the same. He'll adjust and improve. My $.02 -

Carolina Panthers Biggest Draft Busts(Top 3 Rounds)
DaveThePanther2008 replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
True but we're talking about the worst of the worst. Players that saw the field no matter how bad are not close to guys like Shelton, Jarrett and Edwards. -
Carolina Panthers Biggest Draft Busts(Top 3 Rounds)

Yes but Timmy B wasn't great and at least he started. He was also injury prone. Probably one of the only drafts I fell out of my chair when they announced the pick when Eddie George was still on the board. -

I remember hearing he wouldn't run with low pad level. Of course in the NFL if you run through a hole straight up, you'll ge straight up busted. -
Is Terrace Marshall the rookie most likely to succeed?
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
The 2020 draft was great but I think in the end our 2021(to our advantage) will out do 2020. If we could have two more great drafts we would be in great shape and have many starters in their rookie contracts which allows for filling our team with studs on one or two year deals. -

2000 Rashard Anderson 1st round drug addict 2005 Eric Shelton RB Florida State. The guy never saw the field. Terrible pick in the 2nd Round 2007 Dewayne Jarrett WR USC was supposed to be a Keyshawn Clone more like a Keyshawn Clown 2010 Armanti Edwards QB/WR another pick that was such a waste 2019 Greg Little was supposed to be our answer at LT turned out to be worse than Mike Remmers -

Good Question. I think he'll be utiized more in DC therefore he'll IMO be closer to 1500 multipurpose yards. -
Charles Johnson on cutting Ibe. Has a point!
DaveThePanther2008 replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's difficult to see exactly what happened because of the camera angle and the light pole is in the way. One defenders is hitting his legs which lowered the body. If the defender doesn't grab his legs Ibe tackles his solidly in the chest. Things happen so fast in the NFL and sometimes what appears to be a cheap shot really is just a matter of circumstances. I agree that he should have been removed from the field and a serious ass chewing but IMO cutting him was not necessary. I think CJ is right. What message are we sending to our DBs. -
This roster is getting better and better. Offensively and Defensively. Darnold doesn't have be perfect but as you said Mediocre would be worse. I think if he can guide us to 10- or 11 wins and a wild card spot that would be a good enough to stay on track with him. Barely .500 or worse. I think you'll see Tepper pushing the buttons for Watson. We were leaders in the clubhouse until his legal woos started. I know many of you have dropped off the Watson bandwagon and rightfully so but Watson with this team is a Super Bowl team. Last thing we want to do is middle of the road. Too low in the draft order for one of the top prospects and too high to reach for a graded 2nd round QB.

Is Terrace Marshall the rookie most likely to succeed?
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Defensive backs is probably one of the most difficult positions to transition from college to the NFL. He's a stud and will be a mainstay on our defense for a long time but his rookie year might be a learning lesson for him. Marshall has Moore and Anderson to take the pressure off him. Our WR Corps could be the best we have had in years (decades). This IMO is why Marshall will be our best draft pick in 2021. However, I do believe that many of our picks will see significant playing time and 2021 will become our best draft ever. -

Marshall makes it easier to forget Curtis Samuel but to say he was overrated is crazy. Curtis was clutch on third down for us. He was a dual threat on jet sweeps and in the passing game. If we would have kept him he would have produced higher numbers. He had over a 1000 multi-purpose yard. Hardly overrated. He won't be missed because it appears we have a solid WR corps but he'll shine in DC. -
I'm one to give us a reset on the back to back winning season narrative. This is a new regime with a new owner. The days of Fox and Rivera are gone and so should the whining about back to back winning seasons. If Rhule and Co. come out and have a winning season I won't be crying about waiting until 2023 for another winning season. I believe we'll continue that success. If we start 4-0 It will give this team some great confidence for the rest of the season. IMO it all lies on our O-Line and Darnold. If the O-line gels together and Darnold limits the mistakes we'll score enough points to win. Our defense is going to keep us in games and might even win one or two.

I happen to enjoy listening to 89. His takes are usually pretty brutal but accurate. I think this is a next step for him and he'll move into the booth full time. Hopefully for the Panthers. He is and always will be a Panther. He may have had some wounds from being let go and he exacted his revenge on us. Quite brutally in fact. His heart has softened and he is where he belongs. He'll be our first drafted HOFer.

Philly Game 10 October
DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's a home game so we'll be ok. We had a bad experience with some rude Buffalo fans about 10 years ago. My girls are diehards so they'll handle their own. -
Philly Game 10 October
DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Quite beautiful if I must say so myself. They all have BFs or Husbands. I'm excited about seeing a game. I think the last game I went to was when we lost to Dallas 9 years or so ago. I'm going to Virginia the week prior will bring one with me to Charlotte. One my daughters will be flying in from Texas and one driving up from Florida and the 4rh is undecided if she wants to go. -
Any word on Christian Miller
DaveThePanther2008 replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know who he is as well. I am not sold that he won't make the team. He's a perfect type of player that Rhule and Snow love. Highly Athletic. I'm not saying he will make it but I think he will be a good player in our scheme. -
I didn't make the comparison I just mentioning what I read. Same height 25 more lbs. I could see Marshall adding more muscle to get to 235 and be similiar.

Well I am finally going to come home to the USA for a couple of weeks. Covid has kept me stuck in Kuwait since I came here in Sept of 2019. Looking at the schedule I am planning to go to the Philly game on the 10th of October. It's been so long since I have been to a game that I'm dying to go. If any of you are going to have a tailgate I would love to hang out before the game with you. I am trying to bring at least my 3 of my daughters and maybe their mother if I can afford tickets.

Robby Anderson highlights from Saturday
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
He definitely has the upper hand when it comes to familiarity with Darnold. That's a gorgeous one hander. -
Agreed. Mahomes and Rodgers have a special way of manuevering in the pocket and making exceptional throws. Backbreakers.
