  1. Please, he's over hyped and you're wrong. PJ is just as athletic as Willis just not hyped up like Willis is. In any other draft he would be a mid-round pick at best.
  2. Those are the times you should be concerned. Hell I can throw an accurate pass in sweats and t-shirt.
  3. Cam is 6'5" Willis is barely over 6 feet. Willis will get killed a la RGIII if he tries that in the NFL. Cam lasted 8 years as big has he was. How long do you think Willis will last. Plus his accuracy is terrible.
  4. Both come from small schools Similar Height 5 11" 1/4 vs 6' 0 1/2" TD to Int final season 22 TD 13 ints vs 29 TD 12 ints Passing Yds 3295 vs 2857. Inaccurate passer check both QBs. Why draft a guy when we already have a similar skill set on the team. Get off the Willis hype train we don't need another 3rd string back-up QB.
  5. Throwing sessions don't mean squat. I love how Howell gets the "it's in shorts and no defense" but Willis gets "You must not have watch any of his throwing sessions" I've seen some of his highlights and 1/2 of them are him running. His throws are inaccurate and in the NFL that means a high interception rate. PASS
  6. He's a talent but for the life of me I cannot explain the hype he's getting. Any other draft and his 2021 performance would have him an 2nd or 3rd round pick. He runs too often, He's highly inaccurate but he throws a nice ball. That's all good just that it most likely will end up with the wrong colored jersey.
  7. I pray Detroit takes him before we get a chance to. Why would we want a athletic QB, with a great arm but couldn't hit a bull in the butt with a Banjo. We already have a QB like that on the roster. PJ Walker.
  8. If that's the case than we wasted a ton of money on decent free agents. Why sign all these players if we are playing for 2023.
  9. Exactly Howell's dilemma. Lost two NFL RB and two NFL WR and an O-line not nearly as good as 2020.
  10. IMO it will depend on how the draft unfolds in the first 5 picks. Every year there is a surprise pick that no one expected. I think if we trade back that our GM believe that one of these talents are going to drop down to the pick that we are trading for. I don't believe it will be lower that 15. The biggest thing is we might not get the super stud everyone wants but we pick up a pick or two later and actually grab 2 or 3 really good players. It's a gamble but if we plan on building through the draft we need more picks. As far as this forum is concerned. Either way 1/2 of it is going to be pissed. Those that think we should trade down and get more picks will be angry we didn't a Stud LT and those that want to stick at 8 will be pissed because we only got one decent player in the draft. Double edged sword
  11. I am a Tarheel fan. That said I've had a chance to see a couple of his games and his talent is undeniable. If you surround him with good receivers, a good back (which we have) and a decent line (which on paper we have) he's going to be good. In his rookie year, he'll make rookie mistakes and maybe even lose every game he starts (like Manning and other great QBs) but he'll learn and become a long time starter. I'll eat my words if I am wrong but I'm telling you know. Howell is going to be a star. It's not homerism, it's a belief many of you are grossly underestimating Howell.
  12. If he's cut. You're telling me you'd rather go with Darnold or a rookie with a lot of learning to do? I am totally against trading for him but if he was on the free agent market I would give it shot. Our options are getting smaller everyday.
  13. That's about to change. He was probably the top QB coming into the 2021 season. Sadly Carolina didn't have the weapons he had in 2020 yet still missed his 2020 output by only 500 yards. Whoever drafts him will have the best QB of the lot.
  14. Howell is just as good as any of the other prospects in the first round. You may think he's a lower round but don't be surprised if he goes in the first round as well.
  15. Agreed. For whatever reason you don't like JImmy G. He's a winner. If we could get him on a reasonable contract, what is your holdback? So we draft a rookie, do any of you actually believe that ANY of these rookies are ready to start?
  16. Well Carolina broke the glass slipper for Cinderella. There was never really a game. Carolina led wire to wire. Go Tarheels Beat Duke. Won't it be Epic for Carolina to beat Duke again. Make Coach K eat his last words. Remember he said "We're not done yet" Carolina wins and it will be.
  17. What makes it interesting to me is that a QB like Pickett has a good year and he's like the cream of the crop. Sam had an incredible season last year. 30 TD to 7 picks 2021 he was 24 TD to 9 picks in 2021. Mirror attempts but 20 less receptions from a much less talented offense. He had elite WRs and RBs in 2020 and nothing close in 2021 yet only missed duplicating 2020 by 500 yards (41 yds per game). His career completion average 63.8% completion. My point is that he should be in the same conversation as these other guys. All have huge risk written on them and Sam has as many positive marks as they other 3.
  18. I wonder if this will change tomorrow after Sam Howell's Pro Day. Last year, had he been eligible, he would have been rated behind Lawrence and Wilson. I think he's as good as any of these QBs in this thread. They all have question marks.
  19. So I just read where if UNC wins tonight they will play Duke in the National Semi-final. Believe it or not this will be the first time Duke/UNC will play against each other in the NCAA tournament. The last time they were close was 1991 when UNC and Duke made it to the Final Four but UNC lost to Kansas. Kansas lost to Duke for Duke's first National Title. What a game this will be. Both teams won on the others home court and this will be as neutral as it gets. Carolina has won the National Title twice in N.O. (82,93)
  20. I heard Star was released by Buffalo. Wonder if he'd be stop gap for a year?
  21. I just read where they really like him and don't think he'll be available at 32 when they pick again with the Rams pick they got last year.
  22. He looks great but he has to be better prepared for the season and each game. I'm sure many of you who were athletes know how a hamstring injury feels and occurs. It's one of the worst feelings you can have. When I blew mine out I had a bruise from my @ss to well below my knee. Not only couldn't I walk but it was very painful just to sit down. Sudden bursts and movement is a major reason. We all know those bursts and sudden movements are what makes him so good. He has to do more stretching and preparation for each game. Hopefully the injury bug as moved on and he'll play most of the season.
  23. Agreed no significant impact but most showed promise and another year of development and we're better off. I'm not against taking a LT at 6 but are you ready to ride with Darnold again? Because at the current rate we are heading into exactly that. Which may or may not be a bad thing. I would like to see any of our QBs play behind this new line. On paper it is a huge upgrade.
  24. First of all, I don't think we screwed up last season draft. We may not have drafted who you wanted or who we let slip by but we got quite a lot of talent last season. Had Rhule not been so bullheaded we might have seen more of them. Outside of Smith and our LSer most of these players played. I think we'll see some growth out of them this season. I'm a proponent of trading back. I see the opportunity to get a QB and more O-line help. If Hutchinson or the NCSU LT (sorry to lazy to look his name up and the spelling) were available at 6, I would take them. Otherwise, I would consider trading back especially if we get a good package for #6 and don't trade too far down. 15 would probably be my limit.
