  1. We're 8th in the pecking order? Basically, same order as the draft.
  2. That's better. So, I assume those players that have already been claimed were released before the deadline?
  3. I am a bit surprised that we have not made any moves to pick up anyone from other rosters. We are thin, at best, in a couple of positions, especially defense. I cannot remember the last time we dropped to 53 that we didn't make any moves.
  4. We're kind of WR deep. Anyone know which teams might be LB or Safety deep? A team we could be watching for a good player cut?
  5. Hendon Hooker released. He had some great games at Tennessee. I wouldn't mind kicking the tires as QB3
  6. If they want AT than they need to absorb his contract. We aren't looking to trade him, they are looking to trade for him.
  7. Horn has definitely been and up and down story during camp and preseason. You make several valid points but, I am not 100% sure they are ready to give up on a player they drafted. I do believe that if we cut him someone will add him to their 53 man roster. If he does clear waivers, I hope we sign him to the practice squad.
  8. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
  9. And made more clutch catches than anyone on our roster. Speed isn't everything. AT is wise and knows how to get open.
  10. It's not like we're trading a player that improves a WR room. He would be traded because he is going to fill a starting position. As someone said earlier Starter for a Starter. If it is not a starter than Morgan needs to be shrewd and take a 3rd, at minimum.
  11. Compared to those that were on the list. Yes. Go look at 51-100 and tell me that they were better than Chuba? There were several head scratchers.
  12. I saw this list crossing the screen waiting for any Panther. Chubba, JC Horn and Hunt. It was a crime to see so many that were not as good as these three. ESPN is garbage anyhow.
  13. This is pretty much how I feel. I was really hoping to have a decent preseason. I really didn't care if we won or not but I was expecting a little bit more excitement from our offense especially since our entire O-line returned and we added some really nice offensive players. I hope it was just running specific plays to gage our players on offense. Still we looked terrible in all three preseason games. Defensively I still see pee wee football. 11 players all jumbled together and getting burned on a simple cut back. Evero better have his Stuff together come game one. There should be no excuses. I'm excited for game one and I hope we live up to our late season hype from 2024.
  14. That leads to the next question. How many games do we give him? 2, 3, 5, 8?
  15. THIS^^^^ I saw this the other night and thought how can this be happening again. That seemed to be our biggest issue last year. Bunching up and getting knocked out of the play. Tackling a RB we hit at the line of scrimmage and finally made the tackle 10 yards later.
  16. Josh was from a small school and was drafted in the 5th round. Big difference.
  17. Initially I was ok with the first team defense. A couple of plays were questionable but seemed like there was some improvement. Then the replacements came in. They are playing against the same caliber players. Why are they getting pushed around like they are playing against the first team offense. Yeah, I get it, most of these guys will be selling insurance by week one. Well so are the guys on the other side of the ball. Our defense should be playing similarly.
  18. I believe I said it was just one preseason game. What I did say was a UDFA CB is a great find. You can't always go by measurables. I also read where he takes coaching very well.
  19. It's funny, there were several plays where 4 or 5 Panthers were all bunched up and knocked out of the play. it was like watching Pee Wee football where all the kids are in one spot. I have been a supporter of Evero. I believed he was given a bad deal with all the injuries but the Browns 2nd and 3rds made our 2nd and 3rds look like they didn't belong in uniform.
  20. Nothing really stands out. Just another reason why running around in your underwear isn't always the best way to evaluate a player. Thank God Morgan gave him a shot. He may never be a Pro Bowler but it's nice to have a little depth on the roster.
  21. I have been very supportive of Evero because we focused on the offensive line last year. Then Brown went down, followed by Shaq and on and on. I believed that no one could have run a great defense with our 2024 roster and all the injuries. This year we added some really nice pieces to the starting line up and several depth pieces but once the starters came out of the game our defense looked like 2024 all over again. I recently read an article that has him stoking the fire on his hot seat. Has Evero lost his ability to run a defense? Is his scheme not achievable? I want him to succeed but I am getting worried everything we have tried to do this season will go for not if his scheme doesn't work. Thoughts?
  22. Yes, I enjoyed Norwell's time here in Carolina. Also, it is much easier to overlook an offensive lineman than a DB. How Thornton slipped through 7 rounds is unbelievable but it's great DM and Co. got him to come here.
  23. I know it's preseason and just one game but this kid Corey Thornton might just be one of the best UDFAs we've ever had. We've had our share but the CB position is one of the more difficult positions to play in the NFL. I've heard a little about him but he looks to be the real deal. The body slam on the reverse was sweet and he had a couple of pass defended. Good find, DM.
