  1. Outstanding reply. I spit bullets thinking what would have happened if we had just kept Heinicke. He has that Delhomme passion that we used to love. I used to live in Norfolk Virginia where he played college football at ODU but back then they didn't have a football program. He's a winner. His Wikepedia profile shows he never had a losing season at ODU (6-6 was his lowest record) and is the 18 player to throw for 10,000 yds and rush for 1,000 in a career.
  2. Good topic. White had a great first game and a not-so-great 2nd game. Purdy really shined in Shanahan's offense. As @Pejorative Miscreantpointed out your best "talent" traditionally is at the top of draft but sometimes there are gems. There are several youtube videos on believing White might be the answer in NY. It will be interesting to see if he'll be figured out after a couple of weeks of film. Purdy has so many weapons I think any QB in SF would do well but make no mistake he came in and played well, which is what a back up is supposed to do. I've also heard that Shanahan and Lynch really like this kid. I find it quite funny that a rookie "Mr. Irrelevant" played better than the QB that SF traded 3 No. 1 for, had a full camp as the #1 QB and had one year understudy with Shanahan offense. There are several "Lynch apologetics" out there that want to make excuses why Lance looked so bad in his debut. Why didn't Purdy have issues? He seemed to do well. This ought to be fun. I think you have to have good scouts to recommend some of these QBs that teams find. We had Heinicke and let him go far too soon. He's playing better than any QB since Cam. Once again, great topic. Blow off all the poo's you'll get because those that do that are simple minded. They cannot see that every player drafted in the NFL is talented, athletic and deserving of a selection. Lower round picks don't usually last too long but every year there is some late round pick that turns out to be a Pro Bowler.
  3. He fugged up from day one. Talking how he couldn't wait to work with Cam, blah, blah, blah. Then turn around and release your QB for a journeyman QB better known as "check down" Teddy. That snowball started to get bigger with Darnold being the man. We gave a valuable 2nd round pick for basically nothing in return. Sam "I see Ghosts" Darnold bombed out after 3 games. Rhule than turns to Baker "Happy Feet" Mayfield and he was supposed to finally fix our QB problem. NOT. Then out of desperation he turned to his savior at Temple PJ "I shouldn't be on a roster" Walker to save him. Rhule's biggest problem was his Tepper fueled ego. Tepper gave him so much power, Rhule must have thought he was some sort of football deity. Like he has the secret formula, that has been hiding in the family receipt book, for ultimate success in the NFL. It would have been much simpler to start your "7-year plan" with a former MVP. Though Cam was limited he was still better than any of the garbage that came after him. He could have built a good offensive line and drafted a young QB to learn from Cam. Instead, he did something no team has ever done. Used all his picks on one side of the ball. Just glad he's gone.
  4. If you force me to take a QB the only one is Stroud but even, he worries me.
  5. This is my take. First of all, I like Richardson, I think he has some good tools. He's mobile and big enough to take some hits. The ball flies off his hands and has tremendous zip. However, he's a project. He could be another Cam or he could be another Winston. There are only 2 scenarios I would take him. One trade down and pick up a 1st next year and choose him with a lower pick if he's still available. Two, if he's available in the 2nd round. If we were to get him, we'd have 2 QBs that need work. We'd need to hire a QB whisperer. Corral is an unknown. Thanks Rhule. He has many tools to work with, as with Richardson, there are some things he's going to have to work on. My opinion is that we draft a position of other need with our 1st pick and ride with Matt and maybe Darnold as backup. Up to including letting Darnold start the season. We just can't continually throw away top picks for a QB, we have to try and work with the ones we drafted. You can use later picks for projects. If you have a good scouting department. Maybe you can draft a guy like Brock Purdy, Mr. Irrelevant.
  6. Attack? That must have a different meaning down under. I am the one that offers reasoning while you and your buddies offer zero input.
  7. Not defensive, you're a Troll with zero positive input and I take your inputs with very little seriousness. You offer nothing but negativity and just enjoy trolling our forum.
  8. Go back to your Aussie rules football. And I ain't your bloke, mate or any other chippy name you have.
  9. I didn't insult anybody. Guy posted a smart-ass comment. Sue me, I didn't see where Harrison Jr. wasn't eligible. We have several million topics on Tanking, QBs and our current draft position. Is it so bad to try and get a topic other than those three main topics. I didn't list several names because though I watch college games I don't sit around with a pen and paper writing names down and what F-ing year they are eligible.
  10. Shallow thinking bro, the odds of us getting a top QB are slim. You damn sure don't reach on a first rounder. But thanks for the intellectual reply. Your insight is amazing.
  11. We have focused so much on QB that no one is talking about other possible positions that we could use with our first pick. Even sitting at our current spot at 5 the odds of us getting Stroud or Young are quite slim. Those of you that really follow many teams and games over the season might have some input. I like WR M. Harrison Jr. Downs from UNC. (Probably too high for round 1) TE Bowers from Ga (not sure if he's eligible) TE Washington from Ga. Who's on your radar outside of QB? Who's the best MLB and Edge?
  12. Not beating the messenger but this sounds stupid. Why would they only allow "Top" players at a Pro Day. This is the only way some of the smaller school kids get to show their abilities. If it is true, I wouldn't be surprised to see all conference start to do what the Big 12 will be doing.
  13. It's better than sitting around crying because we just lost draft position. Optimism, you should try it.
  14. Our game in Seattle will be very interesting. I think if we win this game we could run the table. I honestly believe the hardest game is going to be Detroit. Their defense is playing much better and they have a very good offense. If we pull off Seattle and win at home we would have a 4 game win streak going against Tampa. Tampa has a couple of tough games they could lose. If we go in tied with them a win would almost guarantee the division for us as we would have the tie breaker. Of course there is always Atlanta.
  15. To me it was when he was standing by his free agents last year. It was clear we had better options and he kept sticking with Erving at LT. He wouldn't play Christensen at LT because he had short arms. When Christensen finally played LT. He actually played well for a rookie. Plus, when we were eliminated from the playoffs he didn't give some of his younger players valuable time in the trenches. Experience can't be undervalued and he didn't care.
  16. They would have to be future picks as our draft capital this upcoming draft is not great. I don't think any of these QBs in this draft are worthy of 2 first round picks. I would be surprised. I totally agree with the rest of your statement.
  17. Name me one person that has said we won't draft a QB. I know I have never said we wouldn't draft a QB. Not once. I have only contended that Corral would compete for the job. It's been you and others that total discount his chances. I believe we will win more games and take us out of the Stroud and Young sweepstakes. This will put us in a position to reach for a QB in round one or take another player of need. We could trade down and select one later in round one and possibly pick up a 1st rounder next year. I think there will be several good QBs in the first part of round 2. Whoever we take will NOT be given the reins as the future starter. He'll compete with Corral and whoever else is in the QB room. Competition is what we'll have this coming spring. I have no idea why other posters simply can't understand this.
  18. And I wouldn't be so supportive. The blame goes on Fhule. It was the worst coaching I've ever seen with a 3rd round pick. Had he been a 7th rounder or a UDFA I could have understood the lack of attention. We traded away 2023 draft capital for him. We saw something in him to make that trade. Fhule had his mind set on Mayfield and made a hoax of the "competition" between Baker and Sam. Clearly, Corral was never going to be the QB Fhule was going to go into 2023 with. Clearly
  19. I don't think he failed to challenge them. He wasn't given an opportunity to challenge them. It's kind of hard to challenge when your only opportunities are with the 3rd string and below offense. A true challenge would have been giving him time with the 1st and 2nd team offense. Which he rarely, if any, got.
  20. If he was so into building why jettison Cam and waste money on TB5. I know Cam was a shell of himself but probably better than any QB we've put out there since he left. He dug a hole he couldn't get out of with that decision. We wasted draft picks and money trying to fill that void. It would have been better to draft a QB and let him learn behind Cam. He talked about building but showed no growth in our team. His bullhead decisions on Christensen and other players just showed that he was going to win with his free agent decisions and well he didn't.
  21. Winning right away may not have been a priority but showing improvement should have. We showed absolutely no improvement in year two and year three.
  22. Injury prone is a bit steep but I get your point. As our draft position drops with more wins, which I do believe we'll win more games. The chance of drafting a QB in round one diminishes. Possible round two or trade up. I doubt trading up due to our limited draft capital. I could see us trading down and getting one later in round one. @Jackie Lee Posted that he is already on his way to recovery and should be ready for OTAs. I have never said he would be our starter, I've only contended that he would be given every opportunity to win the job. We saw what happens when a HC makes the decision prior to a real competition. I've only said he'd compete. Yes, he looked absolutely terrible in his first preseason game but was performing much better in the 2nd preseason game before his injury. That has to be a wash though. Anybody that gets minimal Reps in preseason is not going to look good, especially a rookie. Anyone that contents that his training camp and preseason are any indication of how well he can play is fooling themselves. Rhule screwed us. We talked extensively about this in camp and preseason. His treatment of Corral was criminal. BTW, I appreciate a real conversation instead of someone just spouting out that Corral has zero chance. Thanks
  23. I've never said he would start. I said he would be given every opportunity to compete for the position. You're the one that says he has 99.99% chance of never playing,
