  1. One site I looked at said Hall was nothing more than a future backup or spot starter. I know his age and ACL tear is a factor but Hooker would be a very interesting prospect with Reich.
  2. If Carr makes it to free agency don't be surprised if we are in talks with him. As I have posted before. Reich one three separate occasions tried to get Carr in Indy. I wouldn't be surprised if we made an offer. Raiders Trade Rumors: Can Frank Reich Finally Land Derek Carr? (raiderramble.com)
  3. We all want one of the top 4 QBs in this draft and I hope we end up with one of them. Though, I am not totally convinced any will be the answer we are hoping for. That said, there is a fair chance that we end up without one of these QBs in round 1. I know it is blasphemous to imply we won't, but we need to accept the fact that other teams could offer more than what we are able to or willing to give up for one of these QBs. So, I found a list of QBs that would be 2nd Day QBs and I would image that Reich has to be looking at more than just the top 4. We have Corral that no matter what happens will be in the mix. Quarterback Rankings 2023 NFL Draft (nfldraftbuzz.com) This is an interesting list because it has Richardson who is arguably the 4th QB off the board rated 6th behind Hooker and McGee. Another thing I heard was Duggan had a really good workout at the Senior Bowl. Which QB outside of Young, Stroud, Levis and Richardson would be the best prospect for Reich to work with. I am excited that we have a former QB who works well with QBs.
  4. I hope he has a great year and gets the opportunity to be a HC somewhere in 2024. He's got a good defense there and could easily have a top 5 defense. Of course, if he plays us he gives us the same game plan he gave Cincinnati.
  5. I don't think they will, but some have said Fields isn't the answer. Many love Fields but some, especially those in charge think otherwise. I think they are trying to trade the pick but may pull a surprise even if they move down.
  6. Agreed. My biggest concern really is desperation and panic. If things fall the wrong way for us and we end up trading up in a package that just doesn't make sense. So many teams above us that need QB or willing to trade down with teams that are trying to get ahead of us. I don't like how the 8 teams above us factor in. So many could grab a QB including Chicago.
  7. Shaq is not great but definitely not bad. I think the deciding factor will be. How does he fit our new scheme. If our new DC can use him than keep him, if not, cut him. It's not going to do us any good if he doesn't fit our scheme.
  8. We'll just have to disagree. I just feel that had Corral not been crapped on by Rhule and given a real opportunity to work with other than scrubs he could have showed something. Corral has a leadership quality that is being under appreciated. It would have help us greatly had Corral been given a true look. I do believe that Reich will be working with him and our rookie, if we get one, to bring out the best in them.
  9. We keep saying this. Hopefully, this year will be an actual breakout year for Marshall.
  10. Fixed Everybody needs to be prepared for us not to get a QB and Reich may either have to find a vet or give Corral a chance. Because we may want to move up and get a QB we may not want to pay the price or we may not find trade partners.
  11. You can't say Corral's name around these guys. It's taboo. God forbid we actually give a guy we drafted a real look at the position. We all know how Rhule screwed us by not trying to develop him. There are several scenarios where we just end up on the short end of the stick and have to go with plan B. Oh it will cause a meltdown in here and the "win at all cost" will be the blamed for missing out on a QB. I hope we get on of the 4 but I am not counting on it and will be ready to see what happens next.
  12. I agree. It will be interesting to see some of the other QBs perform at the combine. There might be a prospect that we could get in round two.
  13. None of these QBs scream Franchise QB and the amount of picks they will want will be too costly.
  14. You're going to give up a nice haul for 3 and then turn around and give up more for #1. I think that is way too steep to give up draft picks for the #1 spot.
  15. My biggest fear is we get to Atlanta and they screw us by trading down and someone grabs Richardson at 8.
  16. The mock draft I watched that inspired my post had Richardson going to us at #9. If things were to fall this way than IMO it is the most ideal way the draft could unfold. We would get a talented QB that needs grooming and a QB whisperer head coach. And we would not have to give up any picks to get him.
  17. While I agree Arizona is probably a better target and Watts on his decline, Arizona would miss out on one of the elite defensive playrs available.
  18. Possible but from what I have heard several times is that Carroll was very upset about his defense and coming down to 9 misses out on Elite defenders.
  19. Interesting but Arizona would lose out on Carter or Anderson. So, this wouldn't work.
  20. I was watching a mock draft on you tube. NFL Stock Exchange Post Senior Bowl mock draft. They made a great point that the Bears covet Anderson or Carter. If they trade down to #9 surely one of the teams ahead of them would take both of these players. So, with Houston and Indy after a QB the Bears will most likely trade down to 2 or 4 and that's it. They make great points for each pick. They have Houston trading up to #1 and get Young to ensure they get the QB they want. Levis will go to Indy and Stroud falls to the Raiders leaving us with Richardson. I didn't totally agree with the mock but they give good reasons why they chose the players that they did. I would also be happy to not lose any draft capital and still get Richardson. Do you think differently? Does Chicago trade down to #9 and get a king's ransom from us? Trading with Arizona for 3 might be an option but #1 is out of reach for us. However, they would have the chance to get Anderson or Carter depending on Chicago's pick.
  21. We have alot of exciting young talent on this team, defensively. I would assume he is going to have alot of fun utilizing them. If we somehow get the QB position straight we might actually be a team to talk about next season. Pull a 2021 Cincinnati. Worst to First.
  22. Can't we sign him for a 2 year deal and not give him permission to interview? Though it would probably cause a riff.
  23. From what I have heard, Reich has on 3 separate occasions wanted Carr on the Colts team. I think he would make Carr a MVP candidate.
  24. The Colts were riding with Ryan. Sam Ehlinger was already on the roster so draft a QB was not high on their list. Ideally we can trade him for something good in a year or two. You automatically think the rookie QB, if we draft one, is going to win the job. Where is it written that former draft picks can't win a job in his 2nd year.
