Kind of reminds me a bit of Hoover.

I am sure there are one or two that were signed earlier that could be cut if we really have a UDFA that we want to try out.

Round 5(a) - Carolina Panthers select Daviyon Nixon - DT- Iowa
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
What's intriguing is that Brown is going to demand more double teams than this guy. I have watched a couple of videos on him and he is a violent tackler and will be good for this team. I'm really loving this draft. I don't know many of the names but after I read up on them and watch their videos along with other items you guys post. This team is building an amazing team. In the next few years we're going to be a team to contend with year in and year out. -
Matt Rhule “I thought Scott was masterful today”

This score shows we are continuing to add superior athletes. If you have a player with bad habits you can usually coach it out of them by having the player fall back on their athleticism. Players that aren't as athletic have less of a possibility of changing not because they don't want to but athletically they cannot. AKA Greg Little -
Tremble Compared to George Kittle
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I caught that too when Jeremiah was talking about him. His blocking skill is awesome. In another post someone posted the athletic traits scores where he scored well. The goals of our draft team seems to put a huge value on this score. Tons of highly athletic players. I am sure they'll work with him to at least make him a threat as a receiver. -
It's frustrating to wait for our pick only to see us trade down (especially when I am watching at 6am in the morning) but the last trade was quite fruitful. We have a chance to get a couple of players early in the 4th round (late 3rds). Plus we have recuperated the 4th round we gave away to NYJ. As of now, we only need to recuperate a 2nd and Darnold was free. (JOKE)

All aboard the Tommy Tremble bandwagon
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Panther Believer's topic in Carolina Panthers
You have to trust our board. I know many of you may think he would have been available later but maybe we thought differently. I had never heard of him until last night but watching his clips intrigued me. Especially when they compared him to Kittle. Just because he didn't catch many passed doesn't mean he won't. The biggest problems most TE have seems to be blocking. This guy has it down and the receiving part may come easier for him. Ian Thomas could catch a ball but he sucks at blocking. And never got it. I'll be happy trying the other way. Get a good blocking TE and he'll develop into a receiving TE. Lastly, I think with this guy we have a better chance of converting more of those 3rd and short and 4th and short plays. He addresses and offensive need and I think he's perfect.- 78 replies

NFL.com Mock Draft Round two and three. I'd go for this. We match weapons with Atlanta who got Pitts. Our defense is going to be solid. We address the loss of Samuel and get our OT in the 3rd round. https://www.nfl.com/news/2021-nfl-draft-day-2-mock-buccaneers-snag-quarterback-kyle-trask-in-second-round

It had nothing to do with bluffing. We were not' required to exercise it until May 3. There was no rush. Fitterer and Rhule had said they would do it later.
-
Rhule and Fitterer said they got offers for the pick but the compensation wasn't good enough. We know Dallas wanted him or Surtain but apparently they were trying to screw us with compensation. The statement he wasn't top 10 material is a joke. Rhule and Fitterer had him rate at the top or near the top of our board. His abilities fit our defensive scheme. He's big and can cover. WE get him for 5 years, at minimum, and is going to be a shutdown corner for us. How you can evaluate that any less than an A boggles my mind. I would have given us a B if we drafted Fields because we already have a QB on the roster and we had other needs that we could have addressed (which we did).

He worked out with Jalen Ramsey and Ramsey says he legit. Good Enough for me. A+

A+ Hard to argue when you select arguably the best cornerback in the draft and cornerback is a position of need. Many will moan and give a lower grade because they wanted Fields or Slater. However, when push comes to shove Horn probably had a much higher grade and we went BPA.

Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select CB Jaycee Horn
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Most of the time I felt that we didn't trade for Darnold to be the back up QB. Fields may be a stud or he may be a bust same as Darnold with this team. The O-line depth in this draft is deep. We took arguably the best CB in the draft. I cannot believe that there are so many whining and crying babies on this forum. None of us have any financial investment into this team other than PSL holders but even those people have zero say in what goes down in the draft. I think with Horn we may have a defense that can really compete with anyone in this league. Defenses win Championships. -

Here's the surprise of the draft. SF reconsiders QB and takes Pitts or Sewell. -
Touché You make a good point.

The Lions would be fools to drop all the way to 28. They have a top 10 pick and there are several teams that have better draft position (WFT, NE, Denver) that would trade up for a QB and Detroit would still get a Quality player. I know each team has different values on players but Fitterer said they had 16 players with first round grades. That means, based offer our assessment, They are trading down in the first round for a second round grade. Smoke Screen by New Orleans trying to get us to bite and lose draft capital by moving up one spot.
-
The point he made that got my attention was that they have, in the past, signed as many as 20 UDFAs. Obviously the more the merrier.
-
What is your bet they don't select a QB? Maybe they have had second thoughts on these QBs and take Pitts or Sewell.
-
So in the next 72 hours we will know who our draft picks are. I am very excited about this draft, regardless of who we eventually pick up. I trust in Fitterer and Rhule will repeat a good haul like we did in 2020. Fitterer and the Seahawks like to bring in a lot of UDFAs. I think this would really make training camp really competitive. I'm curious if they will offer whatever the maximum signing bonus they can give these UDFAs? Will we sign local players unlike Hurney missing out on several local team players? Probably the biggest was James Hurst who played Tackle for Baltimore? I know we won't know who will be available until after the draft. Just curious on what your thought are on how Fitterer will be different than Hurney.
-
I understand the grab for Bridgewater. He did well in N.O. and had some association with Brady. It made sense. The contract was Hurney at his best. I would have never offered him that much but Hurney is going to be Hurney. Thankfully we didn't trade for Watson and give up all that draft capital. You say Tepper hasn't handled it well. Considering the circumstances I think we have done well. Imagine if we hadn't have traded for Darnold. We wouldn't have been able to trade Bridgewater and the possibility of teams moving up ahead of us to get all the QBs is very possible. Than you are banking on a 2nd round QB that may or may not be better than Grier. I think on Saturday evening we will have a better idea of how Fitterer and our team will look in 2021.

Denver seems to be OK with the move. I didn't seem too much excitement but they believe he will be good for Lock. https://forums.denverbroncos.com/forum/broncos-football/broncos-football-aa/8357858-broncos-trade-a-6th-for-bridgewater/page2

This changes my opinion of drafting Fields or Lance. When we had Teddy I felt that he would be a viable backup for Darnold. If we move down I believe we will address the QB spot with or 2nd or 3rd pick.
