That was a playoff game hit on Mingo.
-
I'm trying to think of a game that had this many injuries before the half.

Nice WR you found Fitt. He better start catching the ball.
-
We have no secondary and Seattle has no o-line, so this is going to get more ugly if that's possible.

00's offense versus 90's offense. The 00's is winning haha.

I feel like 17 points would be the magic number for the Hawks to beat us with Young. Not sure about Dalton.

Please don't expect big rushing lanes to open and stay open against all the teams we play this season. It's a sliding scale and it varies based on the strength and speed of the run defense we're facing. Sometimes a hole opens and closes quickly, and that's where anticipation and quick decision making comes into play, and that's why Miles is looking overpaid. If he were processing the situation quickly then the o-line would look a lot better. We're not just going to open big rushing lanes that stay open against every team we play. If that were the case, then every game we play would look like the Falcons game last season and we'd go 17-0. A RB has to make hay even when there isn't much there, which was what made CMC great.

There seems to be some confusion on here about Chuba and Miles. Chuba is not a quick burst type of runner, he is north and south and needs to build up his speed as he goes. Miles is a quick burst runner, quicker than Chuba. You may like Chuba's burst at the line more than Miles', but Miles is quicker and faster and has more burst. The problem is what they are seeing at the line and that's effecting how they look. Chuba knows what he's seeing at the ling and makes a quick decision to hit the hole and try and build up speed and power. Miles looks at the line and he's unsure what he's seeing or what to do. He's not anticipation which hole is about to open. This leads to indecision, hesitation, false steps, and missed opportunities. That doesn't mean that Chuba has better burst. He doesn't. He's probably just smarter than miles at reading what is going on, or Miles is still learning the offense.

I watch all Panthers games. It's just a matter of if I watch this one live or not. I sort of already know the outcome, so it's no that exciting.

What record gets Reich fired?
pantherj replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes he did it was OC Marcus Brady. -

It's my understanding that the OC will take the reigns this season, and I have a feeling things are not going to improve, and then... -

I would think the OC would get canned first, then Frank and Beans would get canned at the end of the second season if Young doesn't play well. That would also mean the end of Fitt imo. -
Marty Hurney, Dave Gettleman, Scott Fitterer
pantherj replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fitt to me is basically a nightmare. Every time a big decision pops up he does the opposite of what I want. That doesn't mean I'm saying he's a bad GM, but rather I'm saying the decisions he makes are not what I want for the team. I nearly imploded when he traded for Sam, and I still don't think my soul has recovered from that one. I'm not really going to get into everything he's done that I didn't want, but I'll leave it at he never does what I want. I'm not going to say he's a bad GM until after he's done here. Maybe this will all pan out and I'm not seeing the bigger picture. Gettleman had the cold blooded nature that I like in a GM, but he directed it at the wrong vets and the right vets alike. I only wanted Gettleman to be ruthless to marginal or overpaid players, not ring of honor Panthers players. I liked his almost psychopathic lack of caring for the middle guys and the scrubs, but you don't do that to Panthers legends. Also Gettleman's ability to evaluate players in the draft was lower than Hurney's, and Hurney was no savant. Gettleman's drafting made me want him gone asap. Vernon Butler anyone? Did you want him? Hurney drafted some truly amazing superstar football players. I wanted Cam at the time, and I said he was going to run wild in the NFL, and I got pooped on here for saying that, and people said that wouldn't work in the NFL. That he could only do that in college. Marty went for it, and that was a great move at a time when the Huddle mostly wanted anyone else but Cam. The problem with Marty was that he didn't do well enough in the later rounds of the draft, and he was too buddy buddy with the players. He would sign a good player to a bank breaking mega deal when he should have been more like Gettleman and let them go. For instance, the Charles Johnson mega-deal for 72 million for 6 years in 2011 cap money, or the double trouble deals. It was just getting out of hand. He had to go, but he put the pieces in place for the 2015 run that Gettleman got credit for, and we had the better team in the SB. That should have been a SB win. We have not yet had a good GM imo, but I'm still going to wait on Fitt. It's not looking good atm though. -
Turn the helmet away from BOA. It shouldn't have to watch these games.

I'm in a weird situation here. I can't go into draft mode because we don't even have a 1st round pick. I'm just going to have to sit here and ride this out.

What we need to see from Bryce and the offensive philosophy
pantherj replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ideally you take the Rams trade for Burns, and you trade Brown as well. You eat this season and possibly go 0-17 without a good defense. No problem. You then go into the 2024 draft a select the best offensive weapons available in the higher rounds. The reason you do this is to evaluate Young in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. We need to know by then if Young is good enough to be our franchise QB. The sooner we know the better, and we can’t evaluate Young with the offense we have now. To speed up the offense rebuild you trade the defensive vets. This comes at the cost of losing games because the defense is bad, but if Young is good we’ll know it. And if he is, then it’s no trouble to start rebuilding the defense in the following draft and free agency. If Young is bad, then we’ll know for sure, and we’ll have our high first round pick, and the Rams 1st round pick, and whatever we got for Brown to draft Young’s replacement. Instead we are hanging on to defensive vets and trying to win games with the defense. Bad idea because it’s 2023 and the rule la favor the offense. And what’s worse is that we can’t evaluate Young with this roster. We at least needed to sign a #1 vet WR, but even then we don’t have the juice. We’re too slow, so who knows what Young is capable of, and we have no 1st round pick next season, and Burns and Brown will be any their big time pay days when it’s doesn’t matter what they do on the field. Their defensive play is largely irrelevant until we have a offense in place and we know that Young is the guy. I don’t know Fitts plan, but it’s not even close to what I want. -
No worries I'll keep an eye on Drake.

Chuba us a north south runner who needs to build up speed as he goes. Sanders is quicker, but he's not showing enough power. Give Sanders a little time to catch up in the weigh room and get acclimated. Remember he sat through the preseason and has nagging injuries.

Bryce Young is not ready to be a starting QB in the NFL
pantherj replied to FutureDynasty's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would do an avatar bet with anyone that Young will not be benched this season. Also, if Young is so weak that he can't handle playing poorly this season, then it's already over for us. Spoiler alert, he looks like he thinks like a computer and is unfazed by the game. -
He's got to put arch on the ball and let it come down to the receiver. i actually wouldn't mind if they focused mostly on deep passing with him, he seems to understand the rest.
-
He's not putting enough arch on the deep ball and it's like he's throwing it as hard as he can with low arch and it just rockets out to nowhere. Teddy did that push passing as well and it wasn't a good idea. Watch CJ Stroud throw the ball and see how high it goes and it looks effortless.
-
I liked the way he read the field and understood the opposing defense, and he's doing that now as well. The problem is that he needs to make a few deep passes, and he's missing on those. He makes a couple deep passes in this game and we win, and we're 2-0 if he came out of the gate doing that. He misses or doesn't see his deep opportunities. We need the deep ball badly.
-
I liked the way CJ could drop the ball in the bucket with nice accurate high arching passes. Young looked like Teddy push passing the ball deep with not much accuracy. More of a game manager.
-
It didn't look to me the CJ and BY had similar arm strength at all, but I'd have to go back and look at what the top scouts had to say.
-
Which QB did you want? I thought CJ arm looked very strong, but it's water under the bridge at this point.
