  1. I want coaches who use the current NFL system to move us up the draft when the season is a train wreck and we're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Things like integrity, winning culture, and winning for the fans don't mean anything to me. Utilizing the rules of the current system, the more you lose the higher you pick, is what I want. When the starting QB poops the bed and we're no longer in playoff contention, then I want the backup put in to increase the odds of losing. That's the smart move. That's common sense logic, and it makes football sense as well. The dumb move is to win the game and move way down in draft position. Why did Rhule want to win the game? Because he thinks his staff's teaching ability is so incredible that winning that game taught the players how to win in December. No I am not joking. He is that arrogant and delusional. The main thing that matters is our draft position because the main player that matters is the QB. Landing a great QB is the key to everything, and Rhule is going to learn that the hard way. His wonderful teaching isn't going to do jack crap if we don't land a top QB. He might be panicking now when it's too late given that fact that we offered a crazy deal for Stafford. We're in trouble now because of Rhule's dumb move, but fans don't want to hear that. They want to hear that Rhule is a genius and we're going to be great due to the coaching staff, not the QB or draft position. Well that is not reality. Sorry.
  2. We had a discussion about Hurney. I thought that Hurney should be fired due to our win/loss record over the years. We mostly failed under Hurney, and so I ultimately wanted him gone. Hurney had some great draft picks, and did put together some good teams, but overall he wasn't good enough.
  3. Ron is a victim of the Peter Principle. Rhule still could have benched certain players to insure a loss.
  4. The Texans are unwilling to trade Watson. We're stuck in the bad position of drafting a flawed QB, or rolling with Teddy again thanks to Rhule. We're not going to accomplish anything anytime soon unless we hit on a QB in the draft. That's a long shot, but Rhule will be held accountable as he has a 7 year contract, not an unlimited one.
  5. Bringing in Teddy was a mistake. Everyone already knew he was a game managing QB who could never win a SB. We should have either let Cam play his final season here, or even better had Grier start all season. That would have put us into position to draft Lawrence, Wilson, or Fields, and we wouldn't be in QB limbo. This isn't hindsight 20/20 because we knew this is what was needed to to be done at the time. Later we're granted the good fortune of having a top 3 pick despite our foolish move of bringing in Teddy. What does Rhule do? Everything he can to beat the WFT and ensure we lose our chances of taking a top 2 or 3 QB. That win makes me question Rhule's overall intelligence and leadership ability. Now we're in a bad position at QB, and we desperately offer way too much for an aging middle of the pack QB who has never accomplished anything. Well our GM completely fails in getting this soon to be 33 year old QB. Yikes. And makes an offer that is crazy stupid over the top and STILL fails to get the QB. Good QBs with options don't want to come here, and you can bet we won't get Watson either. We're in a bad position in the draft because of Rhule. If Rhule had benched Teddy for the WFT game we'd be in a great draft position, but he screwed up. Plain and simple. Now we have to take a long shot at QB, like Lance or Jones, and we're in danger of making a busted pick. Or we're stuck with Rhule's blunder of Teddy for another season, and you can bet Rhule will win just enough games again to keep up from drafting a top QB. We're in real danger of multiple seasons of 8-8ish records and QB limbo. This is why we need an innovate free thinking coaching staff and GM who are focused on draft position when the season is clearly lost. We don't have a savy deal maker who can go out and snag a top QB in free agency. We don't have a coach who cares about draft position, and thinks Teddy is acceptable for a 3 year contract for big money. Things are not looking good for the Panthers with the current coaching, and the record reflect that. Expect 8-8ish at best with Teddy back at QB thanks to Rhule.
  6. The new sheriff failed to get his man. So we're starting with failure. Great. Couldn't even get a 32 year old QB who led his team nowhere.
  7. The desperation in offering a horrible deal to Detroit (if we were on par with WFT) is revealing not only in what little faith we have in Teddy, but how much we don't like the QB options at the 8th pick. The run on QBs before we pick might just force our hand in trying to trade down, or selecting some other position. That would put us in line to possibly draft Mac Jones if he falls to the second round.
  8. "Less thinking = talent take over." Not for this guy. His motto should be less thinking + less talent = me.
  9. It's sounded like someone was telling him what to say in an earpiece and he was repeating it, but the earpiece was malfunctioning.
  10. We need to be as aggressive as possible and trade the farm for Watson. Two 1st round picks, this years second round pick, and they can pick from DJ or Burns. If they reject that offer then I want to see the offer they take.
  11. Paradis can play out his contract as we address other areas of need. I think we're going to trade down in the draft and pick up a lot of players. Guards, CB, TE, and pass rushing DT are all on the shopping list. Expect Teddy two gloves and Paradis to be back in action next season with an upgraded roster and an 8-8ish finish to the season. UNLESS.... we land Watson. Then we'll draft LG, C, RG and kick some ass.
  12. The Panthers would be near the bottom of my list. Teams ready to win now like the Colts, 49ers, and Saints would be at the top.
  13. Don't kick field goals when you're up against Mahomes.
  14. If this were the 2023 Panthers, and Stafford popped up in the free agent market at 32 years old, then I'd say GRAB HIM!
  15. Rebuilding teams shouldn't take older declining QBs for all the obvious reasons. Think of the hits Stafford would have to endure behind our o-line? Hell we're still not even finished rebuilding our defense. We're not a win now team. The Colts will want Stafford, and they should be the team to have him and try to win right now.
  16. Stafford needs a stone wall o-line, like the one in Indy, not our patchwork line where we don't even who will be at LT, and the interior sucks. I could go on why Stafford doesn't want to come here, but I think we'll see a Stafford to Indy announcement soon. No need to go on about it.
  17. I am not totally against Stafford coming here. I would rather have Stafford than Teddy if those were the two options. I think we'd go 8-8ish with Teddy next season due to an improved roster. I think Stafford with an improved roster could hit 9-7ish or maybe even better. I don't think Stafford wants to come here during our rebuild. He has passed his prime, or is passing it, and he needs to hit on a winner now. The Colts are set up to win now, as an example, and he would be much better suited there imo. Plug Stafford into the Colts and you're in the playoffs and possibly a SB run. Plug him in here and we're not ready to make a run. Then when we are ready for a SB run Stafford is too old. It's not great timing, and I'm not saying that 100% that's how it will play out, but I'd rather go younger with a QB. In addition, the 1st rounder we give up for Stafford further slows down our rebuilding process.
  18. Stafford is 32. We're still several seasons away from completing our rebuilding process. We need a younger QB imo. Stafford will go to the 49ers who are in a "win now" kind of position imo. If not the 49ers, then you plug Stafford into the Colts and they're back in the playoffs imo. He's not coming here.
  19. I would imagine everyone in the Texans organization is doing everything they can to appease Deshaun and keep him long term. Once the Texan organization kisses his rear enough he might just change his tune and stay for good. Assuming the Texans can't appease Deshaun we'll have to put together a huge deal to compete with the other teams clamoring to snatch him. I'm starting with the idea that Deshaun isn't going anywhere, and the more time that passes the more that is solidified.
  20. Rhule's explanation for playing the starters against the WFT was that he wanted to teach the players how to win in December. It was a great learning opportunity in his mind and especially for the younger players. Thanks to that win we will now likely end up watching the QBs with the best potential be snapped up right in front of us. I just hope those QBs end up being busts, otherwise that WFT win will become legendary and not in a good way.
