  1. In the past the Duke football team would pooch punt on 3rd down several times a game. The QB would take the snap like he was going to pass on 3rd down, and then awkwardly kick the ball into the secondary. David Culley is Duke football stupid.
  2. I thought my eyes were deceiving me. I looked 3 times for CMC in the top 5 offense. Then I remembered that Matt Rhule thinks PFF is a joke and I'm starting to agree.
  3. Going into the draft most Huddlers thought we were going to take Slater. This was kind of a no brainer given our o-line situation. Stunningly we took Horn with only a few Huddlers thinking that was going to happen. I'm an o-line is more important than CB guy. Rhule has a plan for the o-line, but I'm not crazy about it. CMC has been told to keep an eye on the A and B gaps on passing key passing downs and pick up anyone busting through wearing the wrong color. On the pass play to Robby for a TD CMC did as he was told and blocked an enormous JETS pass rusher to give Darnold time. Rhule was beaming afterwards and kept repeating to anyone who would listen that it was CMC's best play of the game. The problem with using CMC beside Darnold for pass protecting is that he ends up getting beat up fighting for dear life against monstrous pass rushers. This could lead to a CMC injury, but we're running out of options for what to do to help the o-line.
  4. We're doing the same things we did under Ron Rivera. Barely beat a terrible rebuilding team. Get a little lead and then go into a soft zone. Red Zone issues. Rely too heavily on CMC. This is just Ron 2.0. if this is it then we shouldn't have fired Ron to start with. We've just got a faster talking more nervous Ron Rivera.
  5. Yeah his feet are not going with him as he goes through his progressions.
  6. Our own Panthers fans called the front office around the clock to the point where the secretaries were very upset. Jerry went crying about the Hardy situation. Rivera voluntarily put Hardy on the exempt list. The Mr. Mom Panthers fans couldn’t accept the idea of Hardy playing. Never mind the NFL, the Panthers wanted Hardy on the sideline.
  7. Most of the o-line is a liability in pass blocking, and some of the o-line is poor at run blocking. Unless the o-line has drastically improved I wouldn't expect us making the playoffs. Now we could work our rookies into the o-line to replace two of our extremely bad o-linemen, but that has yet to happen. And there is no guarantee that either Christensen or Deonte will be ready to play at some point this season. Given the transitional state of the o-line coupled with Darnold's lack of experience in our offensive system (Darnold is still working on the mechanics of turning to go through his progressions ect) I would not expect a playoff birth.
  8. I wish I could bet serious money against the Panthers earning the 1st overall pick in the draft. The odds of that are extremely low imo. Now around the 15th pick is more realistic, or may even the 10 pick if Darnold poops the bed. But number one overall? Unrealistic.
  9. 1.) I'm worried about the Jets getting pressure up the middle of the line on critical 3rd down passing plays. 2.) I'm worried we will fail to get short yardage on critical 3rd down run plays. 3.) I'm worried that our offense will stall in the red zone due to reasons 1 and 2 and due to timid play calling. I'm not really worried about our defense going against a rookie QB playing his first regular season game. I anticipate a low scoring game that could come down to turnovers and field goal kicking.
  10. At the very least we could pull out Effie and put in Deonte on important short yardage situations.
  11. We clearly have the better team assuming Darnold is average. The Jets are down a starting LT, DE, and WR, not to mention more of their players may come down with COVID. They're also starting a rookie QB and that is almost always rough for any team. We're holding all the cards in this matchup. If we lose that means Darnold is a poop disaster and we're headed toward a horrific season. The Jets are the worst of the teams we'll play.
  12. I would put the odds of the Panthers drafting in the top 5 at extremely low. Darnold would have to be injured, or we would have to have multiple COVID outbreaks. We currently have too much talent on the roster to expect a top 5 draft pick. Now if Sam plays below average we could be drafting somewhere near the 10th pick. I think if Sam gives an average performance we'll be drafting around the 16th pick.
  13. Oh so you say the o-line is weak Sam? You're weak! Tepper paid good money for those o-linemen. You wanna know first prize for being a great QB. The Lombardi. You wanna know second prize? Set of steak knives.
  14. Highly likely that he spread it to the other WRs on the team, or other players/coaches. They are sitting in that WR room for hours on end daily breathing in the same air. A CB might have it as well. Just a matter of time before another Jets player comes forward with it imo. We might win a forfeit game week 1, and even if we don't the Jets are now down several key starters. Week 1 is looking extremely good for us.
  15. I'm strangely entertained even when we have a bad team. Somehow I'm entertained no matter what happens during the season, while some fans just stop watching or get bored if we're losing. Any QB is going to have mixed results. Even Mahomes is going to have some poop moments. It's all about the ratio of Good : Poop. I'm hoping Darnold is on the positive side of that ratio.
