  1. The problem with trading down is that teams know we are desperate for more draft picks. That means they're likely to do what they did last draft and tie up our phones with offers without equal points. Bad deals for us in other words, and a flood of them from multiple teams. We need to stay put and take a LT to anchor our line unless we receive an awesome offer.
  2. There have always been fair weather fans. Nothing unusual here.
  3. Rhule was so quick to mouth off. He was dead wrong. I've had enough.
  4. I'm going by what is somewhat realistic as far as Rhule is concerned. I'm not giving a scenario where I run the Panthers. I know Sam's ceiling is rock bottom tier QB and we'll never go anywhere with that. Rhule wants Sam to have his shot and thinks it's more about time and experience imo.
  5. It's a blueprint issue. Rhule didn't think QB - O-line, then the rest. He thought defense defense defense, and some vet QB. He thought his system and brilliant coordinators would make up the difference. We got slaughtered as a result.
  6. To pass on Fields and later take Pickett sounds just like something Rhule might pull out of his ass.
  7. We're not winning anymore games regardless. I would think Rhule would learn toward Sam due to Newton not playing well and Rhule costing us our 2nd and 4th. Someone's job is on the line if Sam doesn't pan out, so I think we'll see Sam before the end of the season.
  8. But god only knows what Rhule will do. The Panthers fan base should be holding it's collective breath as soon as trading resumes in March and all the way through to the draft.
  9. The Dallas game was the worst officiated game we've had this season by far.
  10. Yeah the Dallas game when they made their first drive to score they we're holding to open up those massive rushing lanes and nothing was called.
  11. Both Burns shoulders were grabbed from behind and the refs ignored it and he would have had a sack on that play. It was clear as day. Burns got held a few times by their terrible tackle. The more you throw the more the refs will help your team generally speaking. Running a lot is a sign of a bad QB, boring to casual fans, and punished by refs. We've got to get a QB.
  12. Yes I did this scenario in the "Ideal off season thread" posted by doc if you want to see that.
  13. We need to go by what will likely happen for me to be interested in this thread. I'm going to post my somewhat likely to happen dream scenario. Cam is not coming back next season. Rhule is pointing out his mistakes and it feels like when he pointed out Teddy's mistakes. It's a wrap on Cam. We're still stuck with Sam for $18,000,000, so send his ass out there in 2022. I know that sounds crazy, but we need to draft his replacement in 2023. Pick a LT in the upcoming draft. We need a lot of losses to be in position to draft our QB of the future. Sam either plays well behind a better o-line and we're set, or he poops the bed and we draft a top 5 or 10 QB and his money is off the books. That should be the plan. If Rhule Panics then we'll do something really stupid. Rhule might trade our 1st round pick for a veteran QB hoping to win now. That would be the nightmare scenario because it extends the QB limbo period we are experiencing now. The new QB might win 6 or 7 games and push us too far down the draft to reach the top QBs. Limbo continues without an end in sight.
  14. It depends on what we do at the QB position. If we draft a QB, then we will still need a starting LT and the QB will need experience. 2022 would be the rookie learning the ropes, and a terrible record. 2023 would be the drafting of a good LT if all goes well, and a center as well maybe in the second round. The 3rd round might be RG if Deonte Brown is a flop. 2024 could be a good season if the QB we draft turns out to be a franchise QB. So 2024 things could be turned around. Or... We stick with Sam and use our 1st round pick to add the final piece to our defense. 2022 we draft DE Kayvon Thibodeaux assuming we lose out and he is there. This would stop us from getting gashed in the run game, and would give us possibly the most lethal pass rush in the NFL by far. With CJ, Horn, and Gilmore on the back end there is no way we wouldn't have a dominant defense. If nothing else we would love watching our defense. 2023 we will know for sure if Sam is the answer or not, and his 18 million will be off the books and he'll be out the door if didn't earn it. If he was terrible, then we pick in the top 10. That means we have a clear shot at a QB or top LT. This scenario we draft a QB, and rebuild the o-line with the rest of the picks. 2024 we finish the o-line rebuild and fill in any remaining holes. We would see a lethal defense coupled with a now experienced QB behind a good o-line. Either way 2024 could be a good season if things go well.
  15. I didn't comment in this thread because I knew next to nothing about Rhule at the time.
  16. When Payton was hired by the Saints the Huddle laughed and thought he looked like a turtle. No one is laughing anymore, and our franchise is sadly in the toilet. We don't have a HC and coordinators who can make an average roster shine and overachieve. We underachieve on defense, and there is no plan whatsoever in place that could reasonably produce a good offense. I don't even know where to start.
