Deshaun Watson won't face criminal charges

Philly is a threat to take him. -
Whole lot of Deshaun Watson chatter happening out there

Well rest assured that our GM, the guy who thought Sam would become a star, won't be making the Watson decision. It will be toddler head Rhule, so no worries right? -

Fear might drive Rhule to pull the trigger on a QB in this draft, and at worst if the QB doesn't pan out we're out that draft pick. However, that would probably end Rhule's time here as well. If the QB plays well, then we may have our franchise QB. I'd rather draft o-line or some other position, but I'll be surprised if we don't pick a QB. -

If Rhule drafts a QB then we're going to get slaughtered in the upcoming season, and we'll have a high pick in the wonderful 2023 draft. If he doesn't draft a QB, and we don't land Watson on a good deal, then we're going to be destroyed in 2022, and same high pick in the 2023 draft. -

The price for a high 2023 draft pick is a terrible 2022 season and an empty home stadium. That is exactly where we are headed at the moment, and our reward won't be near until this time next year. That is if we stay the current course. -

Overpaying for Watson would be a disaster. To me overpaying is 3 1sts, a second, and two of our young players who were high draft picks. To hell with that. -

We'll just have to take our medicine this season. And by medicine I mean me watching the games later while I'm doing chores and not really paying attention. -

It's entirely possible Watson doesn't even play in the 2022 season. Even though it will be painful to get destroyed this season, we'll have a high pick in the 2023 draft which is loaded with great QB prospects. -
Tepper hired a private investigator to look into Deshaun Watson

I don't want to trade for Watson while his legal matters remain unresolved. I don't think I've seen anyone on this forum, well maybe one guy, who wants to trade for Watson while he's still in legal trouble. So I don't think you need to point out how bad it would be if we traded for Watson before he's clear of his legal woes. I didn't know you were a spokesperson for the Texans? They may or may not accept conditional picks. There's a scoop. Is it true that you don't want Watson here for moral reasons? Never mind the trade deals. You wouldn't accept a trade for Watson if we gave up only a 7th round pick. Correct? -

I don't know that the Texans will be getting 2nd rounders as well. We really don't know know exactly what they'll want, but it will be a lot. I don't think we should offer 3 1sts, multiple seconds, and two players. Hell no. I'd need to know what I have exactly moving forward to make a plan. There is a point where I'd walk away from the deal. -

We wouldn't be bringing Watson here to have a winning team in 2022. The 2022 team is not going deep into the playoffs with Watson or a young Joe Montana. That is off the table. We're not one player away from the playoffs, even if that player is a QB. Why bring Watson here at all? Our o-line now has a LT in Christensen, and a RT in Moton. Our center will be back off IR, and Deonte should be ready to play RG. The LG spot can be upgraded in free agency, or the draft. So that would put Watson behind a shaky but not terrible o-line if things go well. Watson would be throwing to CMC, DJ, an excited Robby, and a more experienced Terrace. Sounds good to me. I'll watch that offense. We're not going to take the league by storm or anything, but we can be competitive. Our defense has a lot of talent, but the Texans will want two players. So we're basically not going to have a good defense in 2022 with Watson. We will need to continue the rebuilding process. The outlook for 2022 with Watson would be sub-.500, or maybe a little better. There is no saving 2022. Anything we do is for 2023 and beyond. The next draft would be about using 2nd and later round picks to fill in missing pieces on defense and the o-line, and free agency would help as well. The worst thing you can be in the NFL is a team without a high quality QB. Anything is better than being without a QB. Not having 1st rounders is not the end of the world, but not having a QB is a disaster 100% of the time. -
The Darnold deal is pretty disturbing because it shows clearly what Fitt had in mind at the time. He really thought that the 5th year option would be a huge financial bargain for the Panthers after Sam DESTROYED the league in the 2021 season. He thought we'd be counting our blessings right now for have Sam tied to such a cheap 18.9 million dollar deal. In other words Fitt is a moron. No one outside of the Panthers brass thought Sam would be good. No other team even bothered with an offer. Spooky stupid.

He's what 32? And we're how many seasons from fielding a winning team? Yeah he's gone.
-
We have young CBs, and we don't need win now CBs looking for long term deals. Letting him go is the right move.

Do whatever it takes to get deshaun Watson

We'll see what happens on Friday, and then what the asking price will be when trading resumes March 14th. A lot can change between now and then, including Watson being unable to play the 2022 season. Let's just pump the brakes for now and see how this plays out. Wanting Watson no matter the price is not the right way to approach this situation imo. -
Yeah by tough to bring down I'm not trying to imply that he is a good rushing QB. He lacks the speed to be a rushing QB type, but he is hard to bring down compared to your typical QB due to his muscly build.
-
Willis is built like a tank and has the cannon arm to match. He can connect deep and his throws have high velocity and look effortless. He can still let one rip when he's on the run from an awkward position. He's tough to bring down as well due to his powerful body. However, football is also about the mental side of the game, and we have no idea if he can figure out how to play in the pros. Sam didn't. It can happen to anyone.
-
In that case we would trade down in 2023 for a king's ransom.

He clearly has a cannon for an arm, but he's a project who might not make the leap. High risk factor. Poop is Rhule going to pull the trigger?
