Panthers have one of NFL's most 'obsessive' fanbases
pantherj replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
The last time I attended a game I had guys near me wearing Seahawks and Packers jerseys, and we we're not even playing those teams. Plenty of empty seats, and spoke with one guy who told me he wasn't even really interested in football he just came out due to boredom and something to do. There are little pockets of Panthers fans who make chants, and there is one little pocket I have seen many times. Are any of you in the little group near the end zone always chants "1st and 10... 1st and 10!" whenever we get a 1st down? We have a small fan base, but the fans on this forum are pretty hardcore. -
With that description i know exactly who you're talking about haha.

They have interviewed Smith in the past. Smith made fun of their fake digital background. Smith also pointed out that his friends and family sometimes give him a hard time when he stutters during a broadcast which I thought was interesting.

Round 3 - The Carolina Panthers Select DJ Johnson - EDGE - Oregon

Yeeeaaaaaaah I'm reaaaaady coach.... -
Mingo I think is going to be a WR you need to throw A+ passes to because the separation is going to be minimal and the catch radius isn't anything that's going to bother DBs. If Young can be really accurate with Mingo then we can do a lot of damage because Mingo likes to run slants. Mingo has really great hands, but it's scary because that DB is going to be right there with him. The accuracy need to be on point. With TMJ you have that good catch radius so if you put it up high it's a safer pass. It's hard to know what TMJ can do because he's never played with a good pro QB. Chark needs to be the man. He's got to take over and be a dominant WR. Now is the time. It looks like we're just going to spread the ball around and rely on the defense to keep it close. I hate that and I'm so sick of it season after season, but there is reality. We're not KC, and we're not on our way to that. Young will manage the game, and the defense will keep it close, and with other bad teams will bully them with the run game and stomp them.

Tepper already let the cat out of the bag at that press conference, so we're going to be more of a defensive team. That means Burns, Brown, everyone on defense is going get a fortune. We're a defensive team all in.

Round 3 - The Carolina Panthers Select DJ Johnson - EDGE - Oregon

I didn't understand the Corral pick at the time, and it doesn't make any kind of sense now. Just tossing away draft capital. I'm hoping we trade Corral to get something back. Ultimately if Young becomes our franchise QB then all is forgiven. Fitt can stay here forever if Young is good. If not, then everyone is getting fired obviously. -
Nickel.

I want Luke Wypler. My mind is on depth for protecting Young.
-
If we don't take Rush then I think that means CJ will play CB2.
-
Jackson may not be ready week 1
-
If I'm Fields I'm thrilled.
-
And there goes BPA. Nice pick Bears. Slot receiver heaven this draft was.
-
Ok good we didn't need Herbig.
-
Ok Steelers don't upset me. Don't take Kuntz or Wyler.
-
To'oTo'o - backup ILB Rush - insurance for Jackson being out. Scott - BPA if he's there when we pick. Smith - see Jackson comment Herbig - not needed we too DJ Johnson - not needed see FA A.T Perry - Might be BPA when we pick Luke Wyler - back up center (my pick) Ojomo - dumpy DE in our system, sloppy backup Roy - more refined DE backup in our system, less power than Ojomo
-
We only have 1 5th round pick left. We traded our 4th for DJ.
-
Trading up for DJ was expensive and shocking. I would have bet the farm he would have been there had we not traded up.
-
I would consider Luke Wypler as our backup Center.
-
This draft was slot receiver paradise. If you needed one, then you got one.
-
My guess is that this draft had so many slot WRs that it pushed his value down.

Panthers mock draft favorite TE Zack Kuntz will probably still be around when we pick again. He's a nice project. We have Jaquelin Roy on the board who might still be there as a backup DE in our system.
