To not land a QB in this draft would be a pretty hard blow to this franchise. The Falcons taking Trey Lance with the 4th pick would be an all time shocking draft moment for me.

Fitterer looking for QBs to show Rhule how hard he works.
-
Watching Wentz look totally clueless and confused to the point of not belonging in the NFL at all was just jarring. The Eagles coaching staff was in shock at seeing Wentz playing like a high school QB. Yes Fitterer put the phone down.

Praying for a poop QB to suddenly play better because he has a new jersey and a worse team is so sad. It's a wrap. We're not doing that for sure.
-
So long as Fitterer isn't calling up begging for him.

As we know sports journalism is a joke, and CMC has had enough. Christian McCaffrey corrects ESPN reporter: ‘Don’t speak for me to make a story’ https://www.yahoo.com/sports/christian-mccaffrey-corrects-espn-reporter-222242422.html

Interesting article on QB's That can be had....

Let's trade the Pats Teddy. Get on the horn Fitterer. -
You can't make terrible mistakes when your team is already terrible. We have to make smart moves from here on out just to dig ourselves out of being a bad team. More bad decisions will result in a multi-season losing record. We lucked out that the horrific Stafford deal didn't go through, but if our G is lining up a Jimmy G deal then we're in real trouble.
-
Our new GM was ready and poised to get us absolutely wrecked on a terrible deal on par with what the WFT was offering for Stafford, but we were saved by the Rams. In short our new GM doesn't make winning deals for us, he gives up the farm and we get screwed. So a swap involving Jimmy and Teddy would result in us giving SF extra things, and us getting nothing but Jimmy.
-
I don't think this is true. Having said that, if this is true then our GM is really annoying for me as a fan. This pointless trade would change nothing for our team, but it could be another example of our new GM sniffing into any damn little option possible like a forest pig searching for truffles. I wish our new GM would stop trying to prove how hard he works and start succeeding in snagging players who would actually improve our team.

If that happens I will sh!t my pants.

Rhule said he was surprised Teddy's agent didn't fight for more money. Rhule is not exactly a genius.

Stafford didn’t want to come to the Panthers
pantherj replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rhule wants to use his college strategy for success in the NFL. The NFL is a QB league, so you as a HC tie yourself to a QB, and that QB decides your fate. Right now Rhule is tied to Teddy Bridgewater, so Rhule wasn't so bright right out of the gate. Now we're stuck picking 8th instead of top 3, so it's harder to justify getting rid of Teddy. The QBs who will be available at 8th are super risky, like Trey Lance. The culture Rhule wants for his coaches is going to be (work your ass off from 5am until whenever you're about to drop dead, then go home late at night and pass out, and the players will see that and work hard as well.) How else is he going to make their lives as difficult as possible? He's going to rapidly churn the bottom of the roster, so that the coaches are always struggling to teach new guys the system. This is in the hopes of finding lower tier gems, which Rhule thinks is one of the difference makers in winning. None of that hard working crap matters if your QB is Teddy, and when the coaching staff gets sick of it expect coaching turnover, unless the coaches have no other options. That plucky "hey guys let's just work harder than the rest of the league" stuff is not going to fly if we keep losing. Basically we have to land a great QB to turn this around, and another losing season with Rhule preaching crazy hard work is not going to fly. Losing + hard work = discontent. Rhule can probably already see this starting, and that's why we're in PANIC MODE to find a QB. -
Stafford didn’t want to come to the Panthers

The Rams are idiotic. Things are so bad for us that we're pinning our hopes on landing Watson (pipe dream), drafting a flawed QB and making him into a star, or rolling with Teddy. What an idiotic plan lol. Seems like a joke but it's real! OMG...... -
Stafford didn’t want to come to the Panthers
pantherj replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
When we brought in new coaches and staff members I expected smart moves. We made dumb moves, from Teddy to the WFT game, and now we're in QB limbo. Not good. Now we have to make really difficult decisions that might not pan out. We're behind the 8 ball, and our new staff put us there. We're in trouble, and it could be multi-season QB limbo kind of trouble. Like not having a winning season for the next couple of seasons trouble. -
Stafford didn’t want to come to the Panthers
pantherj replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
When you press the panic button as an organization (for making dumb moves) the results are usually terrible. Believing Stafford was the answer is purely born out of panic and desperation. Hell even thinking he'll stay healthy is a hell of a gamble, but it doesn't matter because a dumber team was willing to give more, and Stafford wanted no part of the Panthers anyway. -

It's painful but it's also kind of funny. All Rhule had to do was lose the WFT game and we wouldn't have to go around to other teams, hat in hand, and offer 3 first round picks and players and anything they want. It's so stupid. We could have been smart and played our cards right and tell Detroit and Houston to take a hike. We could be in the drivers seat if we were smart about it. But now we're stuck and in panic mode. TAKE OUR NEXT 3 1ST ROUNDERS AND MORE! Kind funny but also painfully stupid and sad. -

It's sad that we were in a position where we had to beg for washed up Stafford. It didn't have to turn out like this.
