  1. What worries me is that the passing game i sway off. The WRs are not running the routes correctly per Rhule, and we're hearing through the grapevine that the o-line is not protection well. We can't start the season this way and hope to make the playoffs imo. We have to come out hot.
  2. Rhule is starting to say "it is what it is" more often.
  3. Robby Anderson roasted DB Xavier Rhodes. No contest.
  4. I am watching the Panthers Colts practice. Jackson had very good pass defense. Keith Taylor got burned deep. Shi Smith failed to get separation on a route but he's supposed to be speedy. Interesting to far. I know this is off topic.
  5. Okung would be on the bench injured before week 3 imo. Okung is good but father time has caught up with his body. Unfortunately we don't have the type of QB who can just make something happen when the protection isn't there. We have a tall lumbering old school statue type QB who is either A.) going to get injured from our poop line (assuming it is poop), or B.) freak the hell out and start throwing trash to save his body. That is not to say that Darnold can't run, he can, but he's not a prime Cam or Vick, when the protection isn't there he's going to get his legs snapped. I thought we were going to take Slater after a small trade down, and from what I heard we had trade down offers coming in but they weren't for equal points. I would not have been mad if we reached for Slater just because the consequences for poor protection are so dire. Bad o-line play + Darnold = losing season. That formula was already proven with the Jets. Moton and Scott are lumbering monsters who know how to run block, but you don't want them matched up with speedy DE's at LT. Little has all kinds of problems with quicker DE's as well, but he can run block well when he remembers the play and gets angry. Little is much stronger than you might think by looking at him. Christensen has the problem of his arms being on the short side which will have both power and speed DEs giving him trouble. If his arms were a few inches longer we'd be looking at our LT for many years to come. He's lean and decently athletic, but the arms will be an issue imo. Basically we have a bunch of RTs on this team, and no one built to play LT except Little, and he is not understanding the playbook by the way he looks on the field.
  6. I know Wilson threw 2 picks at their recent green and white game, and has had mixed results in practice. Teams starting rookie QBs are almost guaranteed to have a losing record. Christensen's arms are 3/4 of a inch shorter than league average, and 3 inches shorter than Greg Little's arms. I'd say Christensen is an athletic tweener, so kind of in between guard and RT. All of this sort of irrelevant unless Darnold is a good QB. If he's bad then we have all the time in the world to work with Christensen for the future. We'll know very soon.
  7. One of the most common things to happen at any Panthers related event, including games, is for people to show up in the jerseys of other teams. Panthers fans are known for not giving anyone grief about anything, and some leave the game in the 3rd quarter indifferent to who will win. This is just what happens when you have a small fan base in a transplant city.
  8. So the guy filming didn't film the woman in the Cam jersey?
  9. I see him playing quiet a bit in the preseason. I think some will be surprised by how much he plays. I don't want to shock anyone, but Rhule's philosophy is that the QB should be able to get out of trouble and make the right choices even when the o-line is not blocking well. That will likely mean imo that our o-line is not, and will never be a top priority, hence we don't really have a proper LT. So expect Darnold to be thrown to the wolves and if he can't hack it then this will be his only season at QB for us.
  10. If we had a Monday night game and Darnold started pooping the bed they would load up footage of his horrible plays as a Jet. So you'd have to watch him throw picks for us, and then they'd show him throw picks for the Jets. It would be terrible.
  11. And trust me you won't want a Monday night game if Darnold plays like he did with the Jets.
  12. We're kind of where we were when Rivera arrived. We're irrelevant, and our team needs to do something to become relevant. We've lost Cam and that was the guy people knew nationally, and we had a face of the franchise in him. Now we're off the radar, and there are even some people who couldn't find NC on a map. Either Darnold kills it this season and we get flexed to Monday night, or we stay irrelevant and get another top 10 1st round pick. Darnold either becomes our leader this season, or we switch him out ala the Teddy disaster.
  13. I'll answer this poll after I see what Darnold looks like this season.
  14. Seems like he'll be blocking a lot and we'll throw to him as a surprise. I've seen him running routes and catching in video clips of practice and it was nothing to write home about.
  15. What is this "football" you speak of?
  16. Kinnon Tatum??? Who? Damn I follow this team year round and I don't even remember that name at all.
  17. Either try him at OG or cut ties.
  18. Positivity about Teddy drew pie early last season, and negativity drew poop. The same is going to be true for Darnold now.
  19. The anti-vaxer crowd, and that includes their poor innocent children who are going unvaccinated from a variety of preventable viruses, are one of the biggest problems facing our society. You have every right to socially pressure these foolish, paranoid, self-centered people into getting themselves and their children vaccinated. To keep silent puts us all at risk.
  20. It's called social sanctioning. The dumb need to pressured be into doing the right thing for our society.
  21. How pissed are you going to be if if we have to forfeit several games due to Darnold spreading COVID on our team? Even worse is if Darnold's lungs are scarred and he has to reitre, and we're stuck with PJ or Grier at QB for the rest of the season. OMG. Before you say that's unlikely remember the bad luck the Panthers have had to endure over the years.
