Yeah there is no question about that, but it's hard to imagine that we couldn't improve the o-line at all with that Darnold money. You appear to be on top of free agency more than real Hurney ever was here.

Yeah that money could have been used for better o-line free agents, but now it's up in smoke with no benefit to the team. Zero benefit. Dumb move.

If we were giving Cam a multi-year deal then I would be extremely upset. He has a "prove it" deal and he's off the books if he poops the bed. I am 100% ok with that. Had we done that with Sam I would have been fine with it. What you don't want is to be locked into a longer deal with a guy who could poop the bed. We're all good with the Cam deal, but we'll be punished next season with the Sam deal. We need to be smart. That's all I ask.

The only reason we wouldn't make an offer for Watson when trading resumes is if Cam blows up and plays at a high level for the remainder of this season. If Cam plays poorly, then a good offer will be made for Watson. The Panthers clearly don't want to wait around until the 2024 draft to find a QB, and I don't either. Make it happen with Cam, or make it happen with Watson. Otherwise turn off the tv on Sunday because we are many seasons away from having anything decent on offense.

I think we all have pretty much given up on this being some sort of amazing winning season. Now at the very least we can say that we ended things the right way with Cam. That means something to me, and we can figure out the rest after the season. It's only a one year prove it deal, so Fitt is getting smarter after the Sam 5th year option debacle. I just want to see the Rhule era learning and improving from its blunders.

Keeeping Sam long term as our backup QB wouldn't be the worst idea imo. NO team in the NFL will sign him as a starter.

Rhule is going to look more and more exhausted as the season progresses, and the players are going to turn on him. Rhule will ride everyone hard to try and fix this, and when the wins don't come guys will start playing not to get hurt.

That's why Rhule needs a guy who will look him in the eyes and tell him: "If you're wrong about this... it's over. You'll be fired. Are you SURE you want the PROVEN loser Sam Darnold. The 3 season looser who looks brain dead... we're all in on him?" That's why you don't give Mr. College Coach a 7 year contract. He thinks he's a football god and untouchable.

Well both Tepper and Rhule are kind of ugly looking and dress like they just wandered out of a trailer, so Tepper liked that they had that in common. Part of the reason he hired him.

it's bad. So bad. This franchise is now wrecked beyond any kind of short term repair barring Watson. Option 1: Get Watson and keep the talent and build the o-line. Try to win now. Option 2: Dump the talent unless they are really young, and draft a rookie QB. Rebuild and try to aim for winning in like 2024. Option 3: Bring in another journeyman veteran QB and go into long term 6-11 QB limbo with no hope in sight.

If Rhule had tied himself to Fields then he would have two free seasons to get it together. Rhule tied himself Sam who is already a proven loser and far from a rookie. Rhule is going to get Brady fired, and them himself.

Rhule was wrong about Teddy. Rhule was wrong about Sam. That's enough to clean house.
