  1. I'm sure we'll get a few calls for Sam as well. Might even get a 7th round pick for him.
  2. 1.) The Panthers are picky about drafting a QB. Won't draft one in this weak QB draft. 2.) The o-line is a top priority. O-lineman at 6th likely. 3.) The Panthers won't take a trade down offer that doesn't include equal points. No reason to offer equal points at 6th in this draft. No trade down.
  3. If Rhule thought Sam looked like a good QB, then he might think Jimmy is the second coming Joe Montana.
  4. We could do Jimmy G and let Pickett sit, but I can't help bu think Jimmy could do better than being a one year rental. I think he can get more. But let's say we do that, and Pickett doesn't pan out as our franchise QB, then we're looking at several more bad seasons. I think I'd rather let Sam start next season, go o-line in the draft, and then let the chips fall where they may. If Sam poops the bed, then we'll have a high draft pick in 2023 where there will be much better QB prospects than Pickett. We'll also have a better o-line for our rookie QB, and Sam will be off the books as well.
  5. Rhule already said that he didn't want Slater at 8 because there was speculation if he might be best at guard. He didn't want a guard at that high of a pick. This doesn't match with Daniel's report, which means to me that the Panthers are pulling a little trickery with the media.
  6. Fred Lane was murdered by his evil wife. Did you not know that? Why are you listing him?
  7. Some of you may be wondering why I have said that Watson coming here is extremely unlikely. The reason is because of the rumor mill reports that we met the Texans asking price, and then the Texans talked to Watson and his agent and Watson refused to come here. Watson must have invoked his no trade clause to avoid this dumpster fire. This occurred back in November. A newer report has surfaced that Watson is now willing to come here. Although I believe this report, I think Watson is being pressured by his agent and the Texans to say that. The Texans want more teams in the mix bidding for Watson, and if dumpster fire teams like the Panthers, that were already rejected by Watson, don't bother bidding then that hurts the Texans and Watson. That's why I've said that it is extremely unlikely that Watson comes here assuming that the November reports are true, and the recent reports are bullplop.
  8. Yes making good free agent moves is a good thing, but I can't drum up the energy to care. Just thinking about QB atm.
  9. Jimmy G's life insurance policy would be revoked if he came here.
  10. Non-QB Free agent moves are sort of like rearranging chairs on the Titanic. We're dead in the water until we find a top quality QB.
  11. Now let's say we land Watson and we're terrible. That means that the coaching staff is to blame, we got out schemed, and there is a 100% chance Tepper would fire Rhule and clean house. We clean out the bad coaches, and go into the 2023 draft with high picks from the second round down, a loaded defense, Watson at QB, and plenty of weapons already. Our second and third picks could shore up the o-line, or whatever is needed. Things become way more hypothetical the further you go out, but you get the general idea.
  12. If we add Watson we should make the playoffs if we can get the deal down to just 3 first round picks. I would take the deal with the Texans if they come down to just 3 1sts and no premium players off our roster. Adding Watson gives us the best QB we've ever had throwing the ball to DJ, Robby, Terrace with a season under his belt, and CMC. That is more than enough weaponry. Christensen has proven he can play LT well now that he has the experience, and we know Moton is solid on the right. Our center will be back off IR, word is Deonte is up to speed to play RG, and LG can be filled by a vet free agent, draft pick, or the best guard we keep. That is a solid offense that I would want to go see play at BOA. If your offense is right, then the defense improves by default, and our defense has top tier prospects all over the field. These are highly coveted draft picks who are coming into their own now. We are not as solid against the run due to the size in packages we play, but that won't matter as much if our offense is putting up points. The opposing offense will be forced to throw more, and we're built more to stop the pass. Imagine the interception from our highly touted DBs and pressure from a rested defense. Everything changes if land Watson. I go from expecting 5 wins, to at least 9 and a possible playoff birth. yes we'll still have to address the o-line the following season. No we won't be a SB contender, but we'll have a team I don't dread to watch. The Texans want 3 first rounders and two players. They'll want two of our best players. No. It's a no from me if they want 3 1sts and two of our best players. That is too much to replace. We might as well draft a QB in 2023 and get destroyed in the upcoming season. I'd offer 3 1sts and that is as high as I would go.
  13. Teddy will get a very good team into the playoffs, and then get bounced. That's his ceiling. He can game manage and beat bad teams, but don't ask him to beat a top QB on a good team. Sam doesn't see open receivers, often the first read, and so he shouldn't be able to ever help a team to a winning season. Not to mention his deep ball just sails off to nowhere, or into the hands of the defense. Cousins and Jimmy G can make the SB if you drag them there with MEGA-teams loaded at nearly every position. You need a once per decade type WONDER team with the best roster in the NFL for Jimmy and Cousins to try and win it all. We already know what is out there in free agency, and the instant we land a new QB we'll know our fate. That's how heavily QBs decide the outcomes in the NFL.
  14. If you are following this terrible team at this time of the year, then I can say one thing with certainty, you are not just some QB fan who wants a jersey to wear to a bar to brag. If you're here, then you are a serious Panthers fan.
  15. He has not said that he doesn't want him no matter what unless I missed something.
  16. At what price point would you be willing to trade for Watson? You're the GM, Houston is on the phone, what would you offer?
  17. I can especially understand Panthers fans who have female friends and family who work in massage parlors in Charlotte. Imagine the fear of seeing Watson walking through door. If you don't want him here for moral reasons, then I totally understand. I'm just going by football reasoning.
  18. People arguing for the trade want it to take place after the legal issue are over. We don't know what we'd have to give up at this point. It's a fluid situation.
  19. We'd obliviously be much better. No one has said anything convincing to the contrary. It's just about their asking price at this point. We'll trade for Watson if we can get a fair deal. Fitt will snap him up. It's the logical thing to do at this point.
  20. I think it would be good to know the time frame regarding Watson's bakers dozen or so civil suits, and his criminal charges being resolved. When will the legal matters be over?
  21. Yes even with multiple bidders. I should say again that I think Watson coming to the Panthers is extremely unlikely.
