  1. Baker is going to have to throw deep in this game and for the rest of the season or his career as a starter will end with the season. Not throwing to our WRs down field when they are open is career ending. I'm going to watch Ian Thomas like a hawk in this game because he has neutralized CMC with his poor run blocking. Of our entire offense, Ian has had the biggest negative impact on our running game. Keeping an eye on Foreman as well. He misses holes and runs into the back of our own linemen. Probably why he's been on the bench so much. Some things I'm keeping an eye on today.
  2. Rhule appears to lack a vision for what he wants this team to be. One season he wants us to run the ball a lot and play smash mouth football. Then he fires the OC for being too pass happy. Now he wants to pass more and move away from the run game. This guy is all over the place.

  4. I think we can score about 17 points. CMC and Moton will be feeling better this Sunday imo. Also Baker is likely to play better as he has more time in our system. Having said that, I still think we lose this one. Baker doesn't take enough shots down field to open targets for us to score enough to beat most teams. You can't dink and dunk the 49ers and expect to win if your the Panthers. That is highly unlikely to work.
  5. Ian is good at catching easy passes. Ian is bad at catching tough passes. Ian is a pass catching TE who is being asked to block all the time against DEs one on one. McAdoo loves scheming up pass plays, and he has some really ones at just the right time, but on run plays I feel like he isn't even watching. It's like he doesn't care if our run plays don't work. He doesn't care if Ian can't block the play. It's like he just wants to get to the next pass play, and the pass plays are working. The problem is Baker is not going deep when the play is there to be made. That demoralizes our receivers and they look like they're half assing it out there sometimes. There were about 4 plays against AZ that would have been TDs if Baker had thrown it deep. It think against SF Baker is going to throw a lot of deep passes because I'm sure he's being shown what he missed against AZ. Hell he missed even more against the Browns. We have to have a QB who will go deep when Mac is calling all these really good deep pass plays. If we get nothing out of them then that is on Baker. He's going deep a lot against SF is my prediction. If he doesn't, then by the end of the season he'll be a career backup.
  6. That is no entirely true. Bad plays are being called. Ian Thomas is being asked to block DEs one on one on many of our run plays, yet he gets beaten nearly every time. That means you don't call plays where Ian is set up to fail. That is on the OC. The players do share the blame. Sometimes Icky goes into pass blocking when we are running a run play. Sometimes our receivers look like they are not giving 100% effort. And finally Baker is ignoring players who are open down field for short completions. The ball has to go downfield when players are open for potential TDs. We're not getting those TDs because of Baker.
  7. The 49ers were going to beat the breaks off of us before the Chinn injury. Losing is a good thing at this point because it moves us up the draft board. We have to replace Baker and the more we lose, the better options we have in the draft. Defensive players like Chinn are a luxury after you've found your franchise QB. Otherwise they don't really matter much to the outcome of games. The Panthers did things backwards in loading up on luxury picks and bringing in poop QBs. That didn't work and here we are.
  8. There is plenty of footage of Cam playing guard for the Chiefs. He's terrible.
  9. Cam is vulnerable to being pushed down and flying into the RB or injuring a fellow lineman.
  10. Ian Thomas has been playing so poorly I think he's going to dip into the 20's for PFF score at some point this season.
  11. Gravity dictates that Moton's body is going to start to break down.
  12. Is it really fair to grade Chinn. He didn't really play much, but whatever.
  13. I would bet Moton is still hurting from his injury earlier this season.
  14. If I'm the owner, and Fitt brings in Sam, and then Baker, and he tells me each one of them can be really good QBs for us, and they poop the bed, that is it for Fitt. Goodbye. I would be more angry at Fitt than Rhule, not that I am happy with Rhule. Hurney brought us pretty much all of our all time Panthers greatest players through the draft. Our ring of Honor is Hurney draft picks, Walls, Jake, and Mills. What has Fitt brought us from the draft? And we're talking the top of every draft. Hurney brought us Cam Newton. Fitt brought us Sam Darnold. I am not making a case that I want Hurney back. I don't. He flopped on later round picks too many times. I'm just pointing out that I don't like Fitt.
  15. I think you can actually put money on that in Vegas if you are so certain.
  16. If we were going to fire him it would be near the next to last game of the season imo. If Rhule is getting fired then Fitt is going with him imo. I actually don't think Rhule is going to be fired this season. I think we're looking at the end of next season as being his final season with us.
  17. When we brought in Teddy I knew that was a lost season, and we gave him a multi-season contract. When we brought in Darnold, I knew that was a lost season, and we gave him a multi-season contract. When we brought in Baker I thought he was better than Darnold, but I still thought we were looking at another lost season. I thought these things at the time, not 20/20 looking back. Fitt decides who we bring in to play QB. Fitt is a moron when it comes to QBs. He has no idea what he is doing. The huddle knows better than Fitt about QBs, and that is why this team is trash. Rhule is not helping matters because how could he? What could any HC do with Darnold at QB? You're just going to lose. Baker is a loser as well. The Browns paid him to go away. The best Rhule can do is to tell Baker to stop shuffling his feet like he's tap dancing before he throws. Baker is going to do whatever he wants until Rhule gets rid of him. "It's not the end of the world" is Baker's mindset. Baker will blame everyone else when things go wrong. He's a finger pointing guy, but the blame is with Fitt. Fitt is the reason Baker is the QB of this team, and Baker's poop play is the primary reason we are losing. All of that is in the past now. This season is already lost. Yes we may still win 5 meaningless games, but no one cares anymore. The furture is now what matters, and the 2023 draft is the most important thing that will happen since we missed out on Justin Herbert in 2020. We must land the best QB from that good draft class to have any hope of seeing things turn around by 2024. If we miss again like in 2020, then we might as well give up on football for a couple of seasons until Rhule and Fitt are fired. Especially Fitt as he is mostly to blame.
  18. There are two ways to play CJ. You have him press and jam at the line hard, or you give him help over the top. Anything else you are asking for trouble.
  19. You have to start to wonder why CJ is alone with no help over the top when our pass rush is poor.
  20. When SF built up their trenches Jimmy G took them to the SB. Look where Baker took the Browns when they built up their trenches.
